Not enough hours in the day...
There is so much to do, and I never seem to find enough time to do all of it.
I have been working on getting book signings scheduled and books to sign at them. At the moment, there are two scheduled, on Jan 28 and 29. I have also been working on a copy edit (my "other" job), and it has been taking up a lot of my time.
My son Jody had a car wreck right before Thanksgiving. His car was totaled, but he was not badly injured. But there was a mad scramble to get him another vehicle.
Thanksgiving came next. We had 9 people, including one on a vegan diet and one with both type 1 diabetes and celiac disease.
Then, I got my first case of food poisoning about two weeks before Christmas. That was ABSOLUTELY no fun. Then Christmas, New Years, birthday party for Jody...and now it's almost time for the two book signings. And Chinese New Year, which is also on Jan 28. So, 新年快樂 (xīn nián kuài lè), everybody!

Playing Catch-up
I am so-o-o behind on this!
Okay, LibertyCon Day 3 was so busy I didn't have time to think, much less write about it. Then we drove home (that's about 13 hours), arriving late Monday. I had to wash clothes, put stuff away, and repack. We left that Thursday for Boston for a business trip for my husband. I did a lot of research for a story idea, traipsing around Cambridge, Boston, and Salem.
August and September were so hectic that the only entries to this blog were in my head. We went down to Austin to pick up my car from the shop. Now, instead of a brand-new car, I have a repaired wreck. We had another incident on the trip home and they missed some stuff (e.g. the spare was missing), plus there was a huge scratch on one door that had to have happened at the shop, so it had to be taken to the shop in Arlington to be completed. But we finally got it back.
Early September, I was hired to do an edit on a paper for submission to the IEC. It was written by some electrical engineers in China. I also received and went through the copy edit for EVERYTHING WORKS IN THEORY, which I had sold to Cleveland Writers Press in May (has it really been that long?). Next was FenCon, where my schedule was pretty hectic and I never even had time to crack my computer. I checked email sporadically on my iPad, but that's about it. Then, my husband and I went to Kansas for his high school 40th class reunion (Go Jays!).
QUEST AND FOUND was released on Oct 1, while we were in Kansas.
That, more or less, brings us up to date.

LibertyCon Day 2
I am so-o-o tired! I attended the Sit 'n' Stitch, went to the horror-themed banquet, had a reading, and moderated a panel for the first time. Moderating a panel is HARD! I have enough trouble keeping track of what people are saying under normal circumstances. Fortunately, the panel was on one of my favorite subjects: vampires.

LibertyCon Day 1
First day at LibertyCon 29. Hot, humid, crowded. One of these things is good. (Hint: the con is sold out.)
I had a very nice interview with a local college student named Emily, who wanted to know about e-publications. Thank you, Emily, for making my day!
Opening ceremonies is starting now, then dinner, then a 9:00pm panel. Whew! Busy day.

My Big Break
Everyone is always looking for their "big break" and I'm no exception. HOWEVER, having someone plough into the rear end of my 10-week-old car is NOT what I had in mind. We were driving through Austin on the way back from San Antonio. The traffic ahead of us stopped. We stopped. The car behind us did not stop. I don't think she even TRIED to stop. There were no skid marks to indicated that she did.

Trying New Things
I've never really been interested in blogs. I only read them when someone shoves a phone in my face or drags me to a computer and says "You've got to read this!" The first big hurdle was deciding which of a gazillion hosts would be a good choice. The second big hurdle was trying to figure out how to link my blog to my Amazon Author Central page. If it worked, this post should appear on Amazon, as well as Goodreads. Fingers and toes crossed...

Quest 2 Galleys
I've been so-o-o-o busy trying to get the galleys done for QUEST AND FOUND. I finally got them turned in last Friday. Still no firm release date, though. Discovered something REALLY interesting: the punctuation pixies in MSWord do NOT understand that a curly apostrophe is supposed to face to the left! Fortunately, I discovered it. Unfortunately, that means more work to get the book ready.

The Third Quest
The original publication of GO QUEST, YOUNG MAN was in 1994. The re-publication by Event Horizons Publishing Group was in 2013. The second book is due out soon. Since the ORIGINAL publication, I have moved four times. It's amazing how hard it is to find the notes for the third book in all this chaos.
