Week 4 and 5 of Breaking Free, My Journey & My Story

(My reflections after doing weeks 4 and 5 of the Breaking Free Bible Study by Beth Moore)

breaking free

We have now finished the 4th and 5th week of our study.  The following is what I gained and how I've grown. I'm posting my thoughts here, simply to encourage you to do the same.

Week 4 is about rebuilding the Ancient Ruins

During this week Beth Moore led us into an depth look back at our ancestors and family. For me, it was a tough week. I realized how disconnected from my family I've become. On the...

Mission Possible – When your Husband's soul depends on your Fruit bearing

mission possible in little pot

I've been so blessed to marry someone who shares my faith in Christ. I've met plenty of woman, however, that have either gotten saved after they got married or fell in love with a non-christian and became unequally yoked. I've prayed and cried with them all over finding ways to witness to their husbands. A huge benefit of being an author, is that you meet other  authors with their own mission and stories of greatness. Deborah McCarragher is one of those authors. I am doing our fruit bearing b...

Little Pot's SUPERBOWL Activity

little pot's superbowl pic

There is a lot of teaching and learning that can take place around the Superbowl, and Little Pot is excited to share some ways with you!

This activity will help students to learn math skills. They will be counting by tens, adding subtracting and multiplying. You will make up your own questions so you can adjust the activity to fit the level of the students you work with.

Lay out a piece of paper that looks like a football field. Have all the yards marked correctly on it. You can use this image ...

(My reflections after doing week 3 of the Breaking Free Bible Study by Beth Moore)

Week 3 is about removing obstacles in our life. Each day addresses a new obstacle.

Day 1 – The Obstacle of Unbelief – This day I began to realize that even though I know longer struggle with believing how real God is in my life, I do struggle...

Frankly Speaking By Frank F. Clark

Frank is our guest blogger today -I enjoyed his article below.bible-study

When I talked about the idea of teaching according to God's word in the last article, it was pointed out to me by a proof reader that I may have gotten ahead of myself. How? Before we can begin to teach subjects according to God's word, our children need to see how important it is to us in a real way. How can this be done? First, do we actually use God's Word coupled with our relationship with Him as the primary tool in...

The Story of Ferdinand – Being Yourself and Being Content

Based on The Story of Ferdinand

by Munro Leaf, drawings by Robert Lawson

true story of the three little pigs in little pot

I chose this story for our "Fruit Bearing Book" today because I recently saw the movie, Blindside.  If you've seen the movie, you'll remember the reference. If not, you should. -It is a great movie!

In the story, a bull named Ferdinand doesn't really enjoy doing "bull things". Instead, he likes smelling  flowers and laying in the shade. He just isn't a typical bull. When men come searching for the meanest and toughest...

breaking free

We have now finished the 2nd week of our study.  The following is what I gained and how I've grown. I'm posting my thoughts here, simply to encourage you to do the same.

Week 2 covers 5 Benefits that God plans for His children.

Day 1 – To Know and Believe God – The thing God dealt with most on this day was our relationship. I've spent years trying to get to know God better. And I do know HIm more than I use to ...

Two Shoes -Have you surrendered your walk?

Two Shoes in little pot

Based on Two Shoes by Beth Raitt

This is a great little, rhyming book with an obvious spiritual message woven in its pages. The two shoes look up to discover there is something bigger above them that is making them move and has control of their life. They discover feet, then shins, then knees, two thighs, two hips, a belly and so on. Until finally they hear a loud booming voice above. The voice explains that He is their creator and sent His son to save the world. The shoes then understand...
