If you have read the book you might be interested in my own perspective on this book. My mail is warmhawaiian@gmail.com.

BTW, I am giving away 100 free copies of my new book, Sarah's Spaceship Adventure during November. Email me to get a copy in either rtf, mobi, epub or some other format.

Proofreading

My proofreader is slowly, slowly, proofing The Colors of Passion and Love. Apparently she does not think that this book is more important than her day job as principal of Pomaikai Elementry School.

Various books

I'm editing "The Colors of Love and Passion." I'm also reading "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo." I like it. I vacationed in California and Iowa this year. The San Francisco Academy of Science is great. Go there if you can. I saw wonderful fireworks in Waterloo, Ia. and in San Jose, Ca. I stayed in a Courtyard by Marriott for the first time. Very nice place.

I give, I give

Gave up on "Coalescent." Still working on "Known Unknown." Struggling though "Colossus." Started a new book, "Priceless," by Olivia Darling. Another British writer.

English Gloom

Why do English writers always seem so gloomy? Even Arthur C. Clarke could barely escape this cultural mindset. Maybe it's the weather. I'm reading "Coalescent" by Stephen Baxter.

Known, Unknown, Forgotten

I've been working my way through Donald Rumsfeld's memoir. Aggravating at times, other times interesting. I'm sure we all have a view of history that portray's us in a light that is the least damaging. It is what he does not say that is the most interesting.

A Fast Fine Read

Finished a book by Julia Quinn today. "Just Like Heaven," was a fast, fine, read. There is an annoying contrivance, but it was over quickly and the main story continued. This one had me laughing and best of all waiting impatiently for the next book in this series.

Words of Mass Confusion

I've been reading "Known Unknown," by Donald Rumsfeld. The left and the right often use the same WMC. Case in point, in Rumsfeld's book he talks about how the Dems let the US Navy fall to 315 ships. What the Navy really needs (he says) is 600 ships. I've heard this argument before. But when either side uses these figures, they never say why. I've never seen an analysis that shows what types of ships we are short on, where these ships will be deployed, and for what reason. Maybe this is an indictment of the American educational system.

Word Usage

I wandered about the internet tonight gathering opinions about the difference between 'awoke' and 'woke.' No one sees much difference.
I finished books by Jayne Ann Krenzt (Quicksilver), and Robert Buettner (Overkill) tonight. I enjoyed reading both books. (Maybe that's a redundancy.) I worked on COPAL tonight, but I did not get very far. Today was Sunday, sports day, and I saw two good races and a good golf tournament.
