I see that it's been 6 days since I last posted anything. I've been sick for at least three of them. I'm been trying to read H. Beam Piper's book, Empire. This is a very old ACE book. When I'm sick, I like to read the old books on my shelves. I've probably read Piper's stories, but I can't remember them. This is the only benefit of gradual memory loss as you grow older. You can reread the old books and they seem new. I should reread Oath of Fealty. I wonder how Niven and Pournelle feel about the book now?

Jodi Thomas

I finished the new Jodi Thomas book, The Comforts of Home. Well... it's good but not great. There are too many instances where her characters show up briefly, and I suppose that this is due to the timeline, but it makes the story feel disjointed as if you are reading the story through a literary strobelight. I think that if she had concentrated on fewer characters, this book would have been better. I give it three stars

The Comforts of Home

I just started reading The Comforts of Home, by Jodi Thomas. I began this book during breaks, as I was serving on the Grand Jury for Maui County. It was a sharp contrast to some of the cases that we were hearing. I checked out the new Penguin self publishing site, but I wasn't crazy about it at all. I have not yet put up my new book, The Colors of Passion and Love because I am undecided on the cover.

JD Robb

I recently finished two books by JD Robb (Nora Roberts.) I liked them both, but I preferred Treachery in Death. It was a much more satisfying read. From New York to Dallas was not bad, but I'm a little tired of the Eve Dallas trauma trip.
