GHOST IN THE WINDS book dsecription
It’s Friday! Let’s close out the week with the book description for GHOST IN THE WINDS:
The Apotheosis has come at last, and it will shatter the world.
CAINA is trapped in the ruins of an ancient necromancer’s tomb. Unless she escapes the lethal trap, there will be no one to stop Grand Master Callatas from unleashing the Apotheosis.
KYLON is desperate to save Caina’s life. The deadly Red Huntress is coming for Caina, and only by the sacrifice of his own life can Kylon save Caina from the Huntress’s blade.
Or the Red Huntress might simply kill them both.
CALLATAS is ready to call the Apotheosis and create a new humanity to replace the old.
Of course, the old humanity will have to die first…every last man, woman, and child.
And he will start with Caina Amalas.

the romance AI
After editing some GHOST IN THE WINDS, I read a news article. Apparently Google is having its natural language algorithm scan romance novels in order to develop more “conversational” responses.
I dunno. Traditionally in science fiction artificial intelligence decides to destroy humans, but instead of the Terminator or the Matrix we might get a cybernetic version of the Glenn Close character from Fatal Attraction.
I don’t think that would be an improvement.

GHOST EXILE short stories
Did some math. I have written over 100,000 words of GHOST EXILE short stories in the last three years.
Needless to say, I really like writing short fiction.

Ghost Vessel
I just decided that the short story will be called GHOST VESSEL. When GHOST IN THE WINDS comes out next month, I’ll give the story away for free to my new-release newsletter subscribers via Smashwords coupon code.
In a few days I’ll start editing GHOST IN THE WINDS, and I’ll post the cover art here then.

Agatha Christie
I started reading THE MURDER OF ROGER ACKROYD by Agatha Christie.
I never read any Christie before this years, but I cannot help but think that Caina and Hercule Poirot would have gotten on swimmingly.

why is THE THIRD SOUL so short?
A reader emailed to ask why the individual volumes in THE THIRD SOUL are so short.
Basically, it was an experiment I did in 2011, back when ebooks were still closer to their infancy, to see if a series of linked novellas would sell as well as full-length novels.
They did not.

Kobo Writing Life fun facts
In July, I sold ebooks in 24 different countries through Kobo.
Of those books, 53% of them were in Canada, 14% were in the UK, another 14% were in Australia, 9% were in the US, and the remaining ten percent were around the world in various places.
Kobo does indeed have global reach like Google Play or iTunes, but it looks like Canada is definitely the big fish for Kobo ebooks!

GHOST EXILE short story
I’m now starting on my eighteenth GHOSTS short story/novella, if I did my counting right.
I haven’t decided on a title yet, but I’ll give it away for free to newsletter subscribers when GHOST IN THE WINDS comes out in September. That makes it an excellent time to sign up for my new-release newsletter.
