DRAGONTIARNA: WRAITHS book description

Editing is underway for DRAGONTIARNA: WRAITHS, so let’s take a look at the book description!

If all goes well, the book will be out in February.

Ridmark Arban is the Shield Knight of Andomhaim, and he has always gone into battle alongside the deadly Third of Nightmane Forest.

But now Third finds herself trapped in a strange new world of deadly magic.

Unless Third learns to master the dangers of this new world, they will destroy her.

Or the Heralds of Ruin will find her and kill her…

CLOAK OF ASHES preview!

I’m editing DRAGONTIARNA: WRAITHS right now, but I also just passed the 10,000 word mark of CLOAK OF ASHES.

A brief preview:

When the High Queen of the Elves recruited me to be her shadow agent, I expected she would give me difficult and dangerous assignments. Like, spying on her rivals, hunting down dangerous creatures, that kind of thing.

And there was some of that. Like the time when I had to find who murdered a dragon. Or that messy business with the wraithwolves and Owen Quell.

But when I became Tarlia’s shadow agent, I didn’t anticipate how often she wanted me to rob hotels.

Like, she wanted me to rob hotels a lot…

The results might surprise you.

THE GHOSTS question & answer

To celebrate the release of GHOST IN THE COUNCIL in ebook and paperback and GHOST IN THE COWL in audiobook this month, I want to do a podcast episode that is a Q&A session about the Caina series.

So leave your questions about THE GHOSTS here, and if we get enough of them, in a few weeks I’ll record a podcast to answer them!

ebook sales 2019

As I wrap up my record-keeping for 2019, I broke down which platforms sold the best for me in the last year:

Amazon: 56.6%

Google Play: 15.24%

Apple: 10.67%

Kobo: 8.46%

B&N: 5.36%

Audiobooks self-published: 1.81%

Audiobooks, traditionally published: 1.71%

It makes for an interesting contrast with 2018:

Amazon: 63.92%

Google Play: 14.58%

Kobo: 8.55%

Apple: 7.27%

Barnes & Noble: 5.1%

Audiobooks: 0.0043%

Basically, in terms of raw numbers, Apple Books and Audiobooks were both up sharply from 2019, but everything was the same or slightly down, with the exception of Amazon. Amazon was down quite a bit, but I think that was because I didn’t put anything new into Kindle Unlimited in 2019. I suspect the realities of the modern book marketplace demand that, which is the point of my secret project codenamed “Project Shard”.

I also have way more audiobooks now than I did in 2018, so it makes sense that category would be up.

I got to do a special Apple promotion for FROSTBORN: OMNIBUS ONE back in September, so that helped drive Apple sales, which was nice.

Thanks for reading (and listening!) everyone. In a few weeks or so I will be able to figure out which series of mine sold the best in 2019.

The Pulp Writer Show, Episode 10: Nine Million Words

It’s time for the official tenth episode of The Pulp Writer show! In this week’s podcast, I talk about how I wrote nine million words of novels in the last twenty years.

Additionally, there’s also an amusing anecdote about a floppy disk getting stuck in the drive. Definitely wasn’t amusing at the time, though.
