CLOAK OF DRAGONS now in audio!
I’m pleased to report that CLOAK OF DRAGONS is now in audio, as excellently narrated by Hollis McCarthy! You can get it at Audible, Apple, Amazon US, Amazon UK, Amazon AU, Kobo, Google Play, Scribd, and Chirp.
I’m returning to the CLOAK MAGE series this summer when I write CLOAK OF BLADES, so I was hoping to have at least two of the CLOAK MAGE books in audio by then, since publishing a new book is always the best way to promote the old books in a series.

another excerpt from DRAGONTIARNA: STORMS!
It’s Friday! Let’s close out the week with another excerpt from DRAGONTIARNA: STORMS. This excerpt comes from our friends in the Frankish Empire:
###
Tyrcamber and Ruari were eating lunch, while Angaric and Daniel played chess on a folding wooden board with stone pieces.
Ruari produced her tablet and wrote on it.
WHAT IS THIS GAME? I HAVE SEEN IT MORE AND MORE AMONG THE MEN.
“You want to tell her?” said Tyrcamber, gesturing with a piece of bread at Angaric. “You always enjoy listening to yourself talk.”
“That is both insulting and entirely true,” said Angaric. “Fortunately, everyone else enjoys listening to me as well.”

DRAGONTIARNA: STORMS excerpt
Continuing to grind away on edits for DRAGONTIARNA: STORMS. Let’s have a brief excerpt!
###
“I know,” said Selene. “That’s why it’s funny. We know that I’m not a priestess, but they don’t know that we know that I’m not a priestess, and we know that they don’t know that they don’t know.”
Ridmark blinked as he tried to parse that, and then decided that it didn’t matter.
“I must say, my lady,” said Tarmyntir, “your logic is at times circuitous.”
“You have no idea,” said Morigna. “Before I was reborn in this body, for a time she was the only one who could see me while I was imprisoned in the Sovereign’s Durance. Our conversations were often…rambling.”
“You young people,” said Selene. “No patience whatsoever.”

The Pulp Writer Show, Episode 72: Three Lessons For Indie Authors From The Justice League Movie
In this week’s episode, I look at how the Snyder Cut of the Justice League movie offers three lessons for indie authors. Specifically, how the most successful creative works meet three criteria:
1.) They fulfill the vision of the creator.
2.) They meet the expectations of the audience.
3.) They turn a profit on their costs.
I also answer questions about the DRAGONTIARNA, CLOAK MAGE, and SILENT ORDER series.
As always, you can listen to the show on Libsyn, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, and Amazon Music.

Other Completed Projects
Now that the rough draft of DRAGONTIARNA: STORMS is done, I’m pleased to announce a few other projects are finished and mostly ready to go:
-WRAITHSHARD: SWORD & FLAME is leaving Kindle Unlimited on 3/21, and will be available on all wide platforms next week. The remaining four books will roll out to all ebook platforms after April 8th. I’ll probably stagger the remaining four books a week or so apart.
-The recording and proofing of the audiobook version of CLOAK OF DRAGONS is done, and should be out soon-ish. I decided to have some of the CLOAK MAGE books available in audiobook before I get back to the series this summer when DRAGONTIARNA and GHOST NIGHT are done.

DRAGONTIARNA: STORMS rough draft DONE!
I am very, very, very pleased to report that the rough draft of DRAGONTIARNA: STORMS is done!
123,000 words in 31 days.
Not going to lie, this one was a hard one to write. I’m not sure why. The last time I had such a hard time finishing a book was GHOST IN THE WINDS and MASK OF SPELLS, and that was because I was moving to a new state in the middle of the process. On the other hand, people really liked GHOST IN THE WINDS and MASK OF SPELLS, so perhaps that is a good sign.
Next up is SHIELD KNIGHT: REBELS, a short story from the point of view of Niall and Moriah set between the events of DRAGONTIARNA: LEGIONS and DRAGONTIARNA: DEFENDERS. Subscribe to my newsletter, and you’ll get a free copy of SHIELD KNIGHT: REBELS when DRAGONTIARNA: STORMS comes out.
Finally, let’s share the cover art for DRAGONTIARNA: STORMS! I don’t usually share that until I start editing, but it took a really long time to write that rough draft. As with the previous DRAGONTIARNA covers, this was designed by Clarissa Yeo.

The Pulp Writer Show, Episode 71: How To Republish A Novel
In this week’s episode, I discuss how I republished my mystery novel SHARE THE PAIN as AVENGING FIRE, and sold two and a half times as many copies in one month as the book had previously sold in ten years.
As always, you can listen to the show on Libsyn, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, and Amazon Music. You can also listen to it on YouTube:

running to the end of DRAGONTIARNA: STORMS
I’m starting this week at 111,000 words written of DRAGONTIARNA: STORMS. I am hoping to close out the week at 135,000 words, or the end of the book, whichever comes first!
In other good news, the weather has improved enough that I was able to go running for the first time since December 8th. I was pleased to see that I had no muscle ache or joint pain after. What had changed was lung capacity – I got out of breath much sooner than previously.
But! I can spend spring and summer building up again, and by the time winter rolls around once more, hopefully the gyms and their treadmills will be open again. And I have to admit I feel quite a bit better both physically and mentally after a run. I’ve been keeping up with home-based strength workouts, but it’s just not the same as a good long run.
