G Spot-- The Re-Release

Lily Sutherland and Dakota Reese parted ways to pursue separate careers in law enforcement. Can their re-discovered passion bring them back together for good?
I'm proud to reveal the new cover for the re-release of an erotic romance, G Spot.

This book was previously published by Resplendence Publishing as part of the Carnal Reunions anthology. I was, very happily I might add, able to have the rights to the book reverted back to me.

I'm happy to announce that this book will be released on Amazon Kindle as a single title after an edit, some polishing  and a bit of re-writing. This should be happening within the next week. I'm pretty stoked to have control of my backlist!

Thanks for stopping by,
Taylor

Only To Begin Again

                                             Editing Madness
This was me last week. Okay, probably longer than that. I was trying to editing my vamp book, Seduced by Blood, after creating a Bonus Erotic Edition as well as a Traditional Non-Erotic Edition. Yeah, it wasn't easy. Taking out all the 'hard' sex requires certain re-writes to keep the book romantic.

It was interesting as hell, though. I was also floored by the fact that even after as many edits as my manuscript has received, I still found mistakes. And yes, I'd had my manuscript professionally edited. They weren't huge and glaring, but they were there, and how frustrating is that?

So, I spent the entire weekend busting my ass cleaning them up. Last night I uploaded the new and improved versions on Amazon, and started reading what I'd already written of Braden's story, Betrayed by Blood, A Sangre Novel, Book Two.   :}

I've had some ideas on this book recently, about how Braden might've begun his career working for the US Government against terrorists. I'm excited to tell his story, and today, it begins.

As far as editing madness, well, I'll be there again soon. The rights to my other two books, Leather and Lace and Body Candy are mine again. I'm thrilled and feeling an urgency to set these babies up with new covers and upload them on Amazon.

These books were edited quite extensively by my editor at Ellora's Cave, who was fabulous, by the way.

I wrote Leather and Lace with EC in mind and it was my first published book, so it holds a magical place in my heart. I didn't realize until I began formatting it that there's a bit of head hopping going on, however. Change of point of view from one to the other in the same paragraph, at times. I was a Nora Roberts fanatic and had no idea that this was not the norm.

Looking back, I can't see how I could make the mistake. Some people can read it just fine, some people aren't bothered by it at all, as a matter of fact. But, some readers find that it pulls them out of the story or is that it's confusing, so I'll be making an effort to repair that and have those books uploaded ASAP.

Need to find or make covers. Haven't decided which yet. Adobe Photoshop requires it's own skill set and isn't easy for the layman/woman.

Anyway, I'm off with Braden. Have a great week, everyone.

Much To Do

Well, it's been a busy week and not looking to slow down one bit. I finally, and I say this jumping up and down, finished editing or should I say, re-editing, Seduced by Blood for a paranormal romance audience/readership. Cue confetti toss!
I finished the upload on Amazon last night and it's going through the review process. In a day or two, it should be out there. I'm very excited to reach out to an entirely new audience. Thrilled, actually. I'm just hoping it will be well received.
I have a major to do list to construct as well. I'm working on having my rights reverted for two other books, picking up where I left off on Betrayed by Blood, the second book in the Sangre Novel series. This is Braden's story. I've picked back up on the characters and am hoping to use my momentum to knock this book out of the park. Snort. We'll see, I suppose! lol
I need a few covers and I'll be ready to release my Christmas story, which will be an erotic romance. A Scot for Christmas.
And speaking of themed books, I'm working on the "mailbox story" for a Halloween 2012 release. Don't worry, this is just a tentative title, the entire story derived from a pretty weird nightmare.
I'm also pecking away a few paragraphs at a time on a book about my sister and I, her life, her death, the horror in between for all of us. I'm still not sure if this book will be in a memoir style or more of a fictional characterization of our lives.
One is way more painful than the other, let me tell you.

Have a great weekend!
Taylor

A Revitalizing Visit and Book News!

                                             Rooster 1
Baby Appaloosa. So adorable!

Rooster 2

We had a great weekend. We went to visit a friend's ranch on Sunday and saw so many awesome animals. One of their mares had a baby Appaloosa colt. He was so friendly and adorable. Loved to be scratched. Such a doll.

I feel a bit revitalized. Ready to write, to take on several projects and get some books done and uploaded on Amazon.

I'm working on editing my vampire book, Seduced by Blood and uploading it on Amazon as a Traditional Paranormal Romance. So, they'll be two versions. One Traditional version for paranormal romance readers and the original Erotic Version.

Think of it as the "Director's Cut" on DVD. You get to watch the regular version of your movie, plus the unrated version. Don't know how I came up with the idea to try it for a book, but I'm excited to release Seduced by Blood to paranormal romance readers.

Also, A Scot for Christmas, a contemporary (thanks, Paris) erotic romance, will be released on November 1st. on the Amazon Kindle and Barnes and Noble platforms. I'll post the cover as soon as I'm done tweaking it.

Have a great week,
Taylor

Baby Magpies and Summer Inventory

Baby Magpies in our tree. So ugly they're cute?

These poor little guys were either blown out of their nest or are fledglings that jumped. No, they can't fly. Maybe that's something they all figured out a little too late. They are sweet, though, even though they don't want my help. I had to pick them up off the ground and lift them back into the tree. I've grounded our huntress kitty with hopes that they'll make it. I'm trying to let nature take its course, mostly.

Well, it's actually July. I still don't quite know where the year went.

Intentionally or not, it's time to take stock.

I haven't had a release yet this year. I released Seduced by Blood, A Sangre Novel, last December. I can't really believe it's been that long. But, a lot has happened between then and now. My biggest stressor was the burial of my sister's ashes and a military funeral. That was in March.

We're pretty well into summer. My nephew is home from school, so that adds another element to trying to get actual 'work' done. It's really difficult anyway, add the fact that I'm trying to keep my nephew out of trouble, entertain him, make sure he does his summer homework, and keep him out of my hair long enough to actually edit or write, and well, I'm unproductive. More so than usual. lol

But, I figure it's time to buckle down. I have five months 'till December and many works in progress. Things I'd like to get done before the end of the year.

I'm also widening my range of work.

No longer will I be doing only erotic romance.

I'm beginning a book about the death of my sister, who died way too young at thirty-seven years old, from an accidental overdose. This will be new for me. Women's fiction, non-fiction, I'm not sure yet. It'll depend on if I can tell the story without having to separate myself from it. Normally I can't deal with my own emotions, let alone write about them, but I'm going to give it a shot.

Can anyone recommend any good non-fiction or memoirs? Reading in the genre of book I'm working on usually helps me nail the style and manner in which most are told. Any good how to books would be wonderful as well.

How about you? Does summer cause you to sit back and take stock? Does it remind you that half the year is gone or do you not notice it because of the chaos that life has become when the kids are out of school?

Have a great week,
Taylor

Change

It happens to everyone at some point. Change. It can be gradual or come out of nowhere like a semi-truck loaded with hazardous chemicals, razing your plans or life as you know it.

Accepting change, that's the hard part.

It's never easy, but necessary, I've learned. Some lessons easier than others.

Six years ago life as I knew it changed dramatically after a divorce. Fourteen years of marriage ended. After this, I had one bad experience after another, some too painful to even speak of let alone face.

Eventually, I ended up in way Northern Minnesota. A little house in the middle of nowhere, literally. This place was like a savior to me then. I had the balm of the forest, the trees, the wildlife, nature as a whole, to heal my wounded soul. Dramatic, I know, but I was truly lost and...broken.

Jump six years ahead and my refuge feels more like a prison.

My nephew now lives with us and with an eleven year old who needs the extras, I'm constantly driving somewhere. When you live 30 miles roundtrip from town, it's a burden to drive there nearly every day, sometimes twice. Two hours from Wal-Mart, from real civilization. Cub Scouts, after school programs, doctor's appointments, well, you get the drift.

My sister's death was shocking and we're all still recovering. It'll have been two years in December and it still feels like yesterday. I had to re-learn how to live with a preteen. I had to switch gears from empty nest syndrome to having a child to care for. Don't get me wrong, I love him with all my heart, but it's not easy. For any of us.

But, we love each other and we'll pull through.

There's one glaring obvious fact I've come to realize in all this. It's time to go home. Time to move back to Arizona. We have family there, I have friends. Letting go of the peace and serenity here will be difficult but I'm feeling ready for the change.

Ready to get involved in life again.

To stop being a shadow.

So, how well do you embrace change? I'd love to hear any advice or about anyone's coping mechanisms.

Have a great day,

Taylor
