Bio-field Galactic: World in the Balance

With a stagnant and faltering economy in the land of hyper-consumerism, contraction throughout the Euro Zone, and signs of shrinking economic activity in China and the Far East, this culture of make-believe (D Jensen) is teetering on the eve of destruction.

Ready. Set. Conquer.

These three words etched on a single poster hanging in the car as I ride the New York subway R train uptown from a brief shopping tour of SoHo.  (That’s right, I have a wife and child, both expecting gifts from America.)  The next poster on the car wall reads – Luxury Is A Way Of Life; then follows the final invocation – Live In The Moment.

As Colorado Burns and Another Hotly Contested Issue

Click Image To Read Full Article

I landed here in Colorado on Thursday for a short visit with some old friends. I must say this place is on fire!  Forget the arid 100+ degree heat.  The flames outside of Fort Collins and Colorado Springs have ravaged surrounding landscapes, taking entire planned urban developments (PUDs) – including homes, cars, and several lives with them. Certainly, the loss of life, property, and hope is unfortunate and tragic, but not to be unexpected given the density of these communities and the aggregation of property there.

The Law of the Land: Life in the Nation of Laws

Click Image To Read Full Post

Well my friends, it seems that the law of the land continues to exercise its big twitching muscle. Our Supreme Court is about as obfuscating, and living a virtual contradiction, as are any of us mere mortals. In this “nation of laws,” it is now a fact that not only is a corporation a person; it now seems that police requesting someone of apparently Hispanic descent to stand and deliver his or her immigration documents is not really a case of racial profiling after all.

Smashing the Grand Chessboard: Global Conquest by Design?

Never before has a populist democracy attained international supremacy. But the pursuit of power is not a goal that commands popular passion, except in conditions of a sudden threat or challenge to the public’s sense of domestic well-being. The economic self-denial (that is, defense spending) and the human sacrifice (casualties, even among professional soldiers) required in the effort are uncongenial to democratic instincts. Democracy is inimical to imperial mobilization. 1 (p.35)

This confessionary and somewhat prophetic, if not prescriptive, statement makes one thing very clear: America is not now a democracy, if ever it was, populist or otherwise.

Tilting At Windmills: Gellasenheit and the Alchemy of Wonder

The legacy of the West is, as I have so often stated, a nearly maniacal pursuit to control external and internal reality, and to continuously enhance or extend that control whenever possible – environmentally, socially, politically, economically, psychologically. This has led the civilized world headlong into the unrelenting pursuit of domination over nature…

Capture the Flag: Just Another Divine Comedy

Does anyone else here remember the years 1959-1962, playing capture-the-flag with your friends late into the summer twilight on dead-end streets peppering small hometown communities across America? Well folks today we are witness to the biggest game of capture-the-flag one could ever have imagined.

The Despair of Doing Nothing: A Thought Experiment

CLICK IMAGE TO READ FULL POST

False materialistic culture and agriculture begin and end by “doing.”
But the way of [the] true man begins and ends by “doing nothing.”

(Masanobu Fukuoka, The Natural Way of Farming, 214)

Throughout our wonderings over the past year, we have taken up, at least tangentially, a rather thorny issue: what to do as we approach the collapse of industrial civilization. Should we continue to live comfortably ensconced within the current culture or do we attempt to extricate ourselves from it and simplify our lives? Alternatively, do we work diligently to hasten its demise?

Scary! No?

I’m at our family dacha now, outside the small village of Kizlukha, in Altai Krai, Russia.  We have decided to build a new banya here with some additional living space, in preparation for spending more time and longer periods outside of the city. The peacefulness of the countryside surrounds me as I write. The sights and sounds of pending collapse are a distant echo here by the forest edge, overlooking the Ob River. I am lending a hand with some of the work on the banya (digging dirt), while preparing for a five-week journey back to the heart of what DA calls ‘the Beast’… America!

The Fairest Maidenhead of All

OK, my friends, let’s dive right in.  Shall we?  Well, I don’t mean that literally, of course. Nevertheless, I begin this post by notifying all of you that we are entering generally forbidden territory given our well-manicured modern world.  So let my rant begin.
