“I am a sick man…” – The Depravity of Collapse

Click Image To Read Full Article

“I am a sick man… I am a wicked man.”  So opens Dostoevsky’s small literary offering, Notes From Underground.  It is, in significant respects, a profound critique of modern rationality, our perverse preoccupation with self-interest, and the crisis currently facing our global community.

The Grand Betraeul: Love in the Ruins

Keeping Secrets… In Cartagena or Tampa

Cartagena is looking mighty good this time of year.  Don’t you think?  Meanwhile, from Italy, Spain, Portugal and Greece to Germany, Belgium, France and the UK, disaffection with austerity continues to grow. Just this week, the old, the young, and the restless, came out in support of Euro-wide protests.  And while many Americans think they may have dodged a bullet with the Romney defeat, threat of the “fiscal cliff” (a.k.a. another financial clusterfuck) is staring us in the face. And with his knee-jerk-liberal ingratiating tactics, O-drama may make cannon fodder of us yet.  So what should occupy our thoughts today…

Tend Your Garden!

Obama wins… Our enemies are dancing in the streets.  Our economy will spudder and die.  The time of America as a leader is over.  Get used to Chinese food.  Not the good stuff either.  The stuff they feed the slaves at the Apple factories, the same slaves that our children will report to. Sandy’s Spectacular Surge: Our October Surprise

Click Image to Read Full Article

And we all thought the “surge” was just an American military strategy in Afghanistan!  Or perhaps a covert marketing strategy for globalization of the Western Curriculum.  Boy, were we wrong! Well, what do you know; it seems as though Mother Nature decided to use a trick from our own playbook as an object-lesson to America and the rest of the West about our unrelenting abuse of her bounty, as well as a response to our equally unchecked hubris.

Literacy, Bureaucracy, and the Closing of the Savage Mind

The written word does not replace speech, any more than speech replaces gesture. But it adds an important dimension to much social action. This is especially true of the politico-legal domain, for the growth of bureaucracy clearly depends to a considerable degree upon the ability to control [non-kin] relationships by means of written communication. (Jack Goody

One thing that Russia lacks not is bureaucracy; lots and lots of bureaucracy, documented with documentation, itself filled with tables, calculations, stamps, and signatures, made official with notary seals and stitched bindings.  This is the world of the document, and the land of the written word.

Domestication of the Savage Mind or Can’t Buy Me Love

…billions of American assistance dollars poured into programs in Afghanistan designed to help win “hearts and minds,” and bring stability to the troubled nation.

But, who unleashed the recent storm of chaos into this ‘troubled nation’ anyway? We did, of course! We also know that US expansionist plans, a.k.a. globalization, were crafted, honed, and rationalized by brainwashed policy wonks – graduates of the most prestigious Western institutions of indoctrination. Their mission is to build and establish stable social platforms receptive to our cultural, economic, and political agenda – our relentless hegemonic advance.

On The Road to Perdition: Mitt, Misfits and Other Miscreants

So now we are going to nitpick Mitt to death because he is the consummate example of successful casino-cum-cowboy (the devil take all) hyper-capitalism.  He will continue to show a profit even as he tightens the noose of inverted totalitarian hierarchy on the enslaved citizenry of empire.  He learned how to play the game as well, if not better, than any of them.  And they are all so jealous now; except Lucifer, of course.

Knee Deep and Sinking Fast: Welcome as an Outhouse Breeze

Well, we are in some thick fog now, folks.  Knee deep in some real shit.  Uglier than a mud fence!  The corporate-sponsored presidential lie-fest has begun!  So, the framers of this propaganda-extravaganza tell us that it is all about the economy.  You hear that, Jethro Bodine? It’s all about our economy.  Yep, granny, I heard it.

Twisted Knickers and All of That Stuff

It appears as though the question concerning religion is getting everyone’s “knickers in a twist.” Perhaps we should gingerly explore this hysterical hypersensitivity over religion and the religious sentiment.  What is the religious aspiration in the modern world?  To consider this, we must answer a prior question: What are these religions to which I am referring? Islam, Christianity, and Judaism for sure, but most lists of world religions today would include Buddhism and Hinduism as well.
