ASU Faculty Friday Profile
It is a great privilege to work for Arizona State University and to teach its amazing students. Not only that--the PR people in ASU CLAS and ASU English have a great sense of humor, too! Its fun to be this week's "Faculty Friday" profile.

Cambridge UP Author Hub Interview on YouTube
It was great to take a few minutes at MLA in Austin, TX to record a three-minute interview for Cambridge University Press's Author Hub series. I'm grateful to CUP for giving me a chance to chat about and reflect on the history of women's writings and the book I edited for them, The Cambridge Companion to Women's Writing in the Romantic Period. Just after I recorded this interview I learned that the book received a Choice Outstanding Academic Title Award! It's an award that recognizes all of the amazing contributors whose essays are included in the volume, as well as my marvelous editor at CUP, Linda Bree.

Johnny Depp, please come back to ASU and guest lecture on Rochester!
It was a thrill to talk to Johnny Depp and Lawrence Krauss and to hear their vibrant conversation on creativity and madness as part of the ASU Origins Project. Now we just need to convince Depp to come to ASU English to guest lecture on Rochester. Name your day, Johnny! [image error]

More Janes in Jane Austen Regency World Magazine
It's always a treat to contribute a piece to Jane Austen's Regency World Magazine. This one is on Jane West's A Gossip's Story (1796), a novel that probably inspired Sense & Sensibility. Want to decide for yourself? Our edition is just out from Valancourt Books. This one is old school and print only: “Inspiring Sense & Sensibility,” Jane Austen’s Regency World Magazine 80 (March/Apr 2016): 47-50. Print

The Atlantic: Ang Lee's Sense & Sensibility and its Men
I'm excited to share this piece I published in The Atlantic, reflecting on the 20th anniversary of Ang Lee's Sense and Sensibility (1995/6) and Emma Thompson's Oscar-winning screenplay. Hugh Grant's Edward Ferrars and Alan Rickman's Colonel Brandon changed Austen adaptation history. (Step aside for a moment, Colin Firth.)
