For David Bridger...
David Bridger asked for a picture of where we are today. So I braved the webcam and joined in. This is my office--kind of open plan with the piano room behind me through the arch (so called b/c we are slowly stripping the wood on the windows and redoing that space and the piano is the only thing in there). And through a door to my left is the kitchen (perfect to tea breaks:)). Currently I write in a cupboard but I am hoping for a new desk soon so I can get more comfortable (and so my feet can touch the floor :)).Go to his blog to join in.

Things are growing...
This week I did Kiss of Death's Book In A Week (KODBIAW). I'm supposed to be doing it today so I might not be finished yet. I wrote over 10K words which was my goal.Now I'm not one of those people who needs others to set my goals for me, I am always harder on myself than anyone else will ever be (I should perhaps include a caveat for people who may hate my books, but I digress...). So why did I feel the need to do this KODBIAW?
One, I'm a terrible one for tinkering with the front end of the story, but I really think I need a little 'middle' written before I can really do it justice. Not much middle but a general feeling about where the story is going. My 10K words took my WIP (work-in-progress) to 30K which is roughly the first 1/3 of the story. Now I can go back, think about the 3 act structure, think about the characters and how much more I know about them than when I started and hopefully edit the crap out of that baby. Wish me luck--I'm gonna need it :)

Poppies
Look at my beautiful poppies :) As big as plates. I think my blog may before a pictorial gallery of my garden this summer. Things just get crazy this time of year (school is done end next week) and I'm trying to lay off the computer when I'm not writing. Getting old and stiff. Writing like mad trying to get the first draft halfway done before kids break up. After that I will be getting up early to work before they rouse for the day. Did I mention I am not a morning person?

Veggie Patch
Everything is growing! So far. Radishes, lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, onions. Exciting times. 
Potatoes and courgettes and strawberries. 
See, I keep telling people my life isn't like my books but they don't believe me. No one grows radishes in my books :) They're too busy trying to get out of the messes I've left them in. Which reminds me...back to it :)

Tulips
Something about summer makes me quieter on the blog. And some days you just can't say what you want to without getting into trouble :) So instead here are some photos of my garden. I didn't even photo-shop them...I is awesome :)
