Home Alone
The Man had a fabulous idea the other day. So fabulous, I don't think even he knows how much of a winner it was. But long story very short he just drove off with both munchkins for a Harry Potter Grand Opening weekend, leaving me and the 4 legged creatures* waving at their dust.
They were shooting me looks of pity, as if they felt bad there wasn't room in the car for me to come too. (There really wasn't – it's a working weekend, so the car was stuffed full of all the tournament gear, and...

You must read this – Wasteland: The Wanderer by Crystal Jordan
(Warning – if you're under 18 you really should NOT read this book. Not without asking your mom. And if she says yes, you maybe ought to get a second opinion.)
Wasteland: The Wanderer by Crystal Jordan
Love is the most dangerous experiment of all.
There is only one rule in the Wasteland: survive.
The few remaining women are as reviled as they are worshiped, a commodity any man must pay to touch. And to touch a Wanderer, he may pay with his life.
For Ezra, the risk is worth the reward. People...
Hold your head high
It's been a long spring. Life has been throwing me a lot of curve balls, and some days it's been all I could do to stand in there and foul them off while I wait for a pitch I can take a hard swing at.
As baseball analogies go that one pretty much sucks.
Anyway. I'm here. I've got the love of my family and friends, I'm healthy, and I'm doing everything I can to keep my family healthy as well. And I realize that sometimes the really crappy surprises life springs takes me down a path that I...

17 Golden Flowers
It was 33 freaking degrees this morning. This is not normal, or even appreciated, at the end of a Florida February.
But then there was also this, and my day suddenly seemed a little bit warmer.

Weather in pretty pictures
Never underestimate the ability of pretty pictures, graphs, charts, and multiple options to make weather fun.

Hello, Vancouver. How's the weather going to be for the opening ceremonies?

LEVERAGE

The kids and I have been watching Leverage on Netflix the past few weeks. We're almost caught up to the "now showing" – oh no!
(This post made to test the new Android WordPress app. I like.)

Finding the bright side
I'm at the Samhain blog today talking about finding the bright side. Stop by and share your thoughts!

22 secs of “That was so cool!”
We don’t get a lot of real coldness in NE Florida. “Real coldness” in my world is defined as “probably should stock up on wood for the fireplace since the temperatures may drop all the way below 50.”
So 17 degrees below freezing? (I’m working in the Fahrenheit world here, you Swedish lurkers – Hej!) That just doesn’t happen in my world.
Which is probably why I found this short video of “17 Below and 1 Cup of Boiling Water” entirely too entertaining.
Entertaining enough to still be cool after three or four views, at least.
Stay warm!
