Kay is the author of WW1 historical novel The Rite of Spring, a story inspired by an incident in her family history.

In a previous life she worked as a bookseller for a well-known chain bookstore. In an even earlier life she was a librarian.

She's been fascinated by the tarot for many years and has published two decks: The Quantum Tarot (with illustrator Chris Butler) and The Universe Cards.

She lives in an unfashionable part of south London with her partner and the inevitable cat.
