Amazing Review for Eastern Ambitions
I LOVE this review that just came in for Eastern Ambitions. It's a five cherry review from Whipped Cream. You can read the whole thing here (be careful, there are several spoilers!) but here are some snippets from my favorite parts.
"I love the world and the characters that Mari Carr and Jayne Rylon have so marvelously crafted. There is an electricity flowing through this story, a sense of things flowing just below the surface about to erupt, that draws the reader in with the first words. This story grabbed me by the throat and wouldn't let go until the final sentence."
"This story is deeper and more emotional than the first two books, and there are many secrets that need to come out. The connections between the main and secondary characters in this story are expertly intertwined, with everyone filling some need in another. But this is definitely Sam and Cindi's story, and they have some major barriers to get through to get to their happy ending. There are several hot spots in this, and the scene in the yard with Cindi and the men is one of the hottest things I have read in a while. That was the moment when Cindi and Sam realized they were perfect for each other, and it was written to perfection. This is one very hot romance, but bring a huge box of tissues, because this one will bring the tears, both from laughter and from sadness."

An Amazing Day for Powertools (cover art & news!)

So… it's finally here and I LOVE it. Just got the approved cover for Devon's Pair (the fourth book in the Powertools series). Angela Waters is the absolute bestest! You can check it out below. Devon's Pair will be out on January 3rd. WOOHOO. I also added blurbs and new pages for books five and six in the series which will be out next year as well. Just click on the links on the navigation bar over there to find out more —>
(Yes, that was me being lazy but I have writing to do tonight, I'm working on Red Light #4 right now!)
As if that weren't enough, I have some big news! Morgan's Surprise was nominated today for the best Indie Erotic Romance of 2011 from RT Magazine. I can't tell you how honored I am to be counted among some of my absolute favorite authors. I'm thrilled! A special shout out to one of my first critique partners Jennifer Haymore for her nomination and of course Anne Rainey, my fellow International Heat author. You can check out all of the nominations here.
Thank you to all of you who have supported this series and made it possible for me to explore this ongoing relationship between the crew. I appreciate all the letters you've sent and the books you've read. I hope you enjoy Devon's Pair as much as I did writing it and can't wait to continue the adventure in the upcoming books.

A Spooky Romance!
It's Halloween and I have the perfect read for you
Picture Perfect, my first published book, is a novella that features Halloween magic. Hope you'll give it a try if you haven't already.
Available at Ellora's Cave
Available at Amazon
Available at B&N
Available at Kobo
Conn Hennessey suffered nine hundred years trapped in a godforsaken painting. Halloween magic gives him one chance at freedom. With just twenty four hours to break the spell, by convincing the woman he loves they belong together, a day never seemed so short.
Dana Kavanagh wishes she were gullible enough to believe her sexy stranger's story. He looks and acts like the man of her dreams but magic, time travel and a pissed off witch seem farfetched. Afraid of looking like a fool if it's a hoax, can she live with the consequences if she's wrong?
The clock is ticking…
"Imaginative, colorful and utterly sexy. The concept of your own personal stalker right in your own bedroom shall give voyeurs and voyeur wannabes a pleasurable thrill as they read Jayne Rylon's fantastic tale of wanting, needing and longing. A sizzing fairytale come true." 5 out of 5 flags, Euro-Reviews
"Jayne Rylon has given us her very own work of art in Picture Perfect. This is one amazing love story that will pull at your heartstrings and make your soul sing at the same time! This is one blazing hot book; you will need to wear gloves while reading so you do not get your hands scorched! The love scenes will leave you breathless and yearning for more." 5 Angels, Fallen Angel Reviews
The tantalizing suspense and deep feelings the characters ushered me into was like being lead into a dark theater, listening to time tick away like a time bomb that was ready to explode at any given moment, without knowing what was on the program. The not knowing what was going to happen next amazed me considerably. So I sank by degrees slowly into the movement of the story, just like sinking down into my comfortable couch. I was lost in the romance of, PICTURE PERFECT. Truly an appealing historical lore completed with sensual ecstasy. The vivid descriptions of the time period were awesome!" 4 1/2 Hearts, The Romance Studio
"What is there not to love about this story. Undying love and only one chance to try to make it real? Sigh! The love between the two characters is so real, so pure, that as a reader I felt it from start to finish. Rylon can surely write his romances! The scenes were tantalizing and picturesque! This is surely a story not to miss! This is a must read and the author is on my favorites list!" 4 stars, The Pen and Muse
"Jayne Rylon is a talented author and is able to weave a great read. There was definitely a lot of love between these two and it's easy to love them. Great job Ms. Rylon." 4.5 star Top Pick by Night Owl Romance

Two Cool Things!
Yippee. Two cool things for today. First, Mistress's Master was reviewed by RT Magazine. It got four stars (the highest they give is 4.5)! And even better, the text of the review made me feel like the reviewer was really in tune with the book. Can't ask for better than that. Here's a snippet but you can check out the full thing at their everything ebooks site here.
"Rylon knows her stuff, providing readers with explicit, clear-as-day details about everything in the subculture from toys to scenery. As a couple, Lily and Jeremy are fascinating to watch, as they're both dominating and frequently butt heads, vying for control. Mistress Lily is a compassionate dom, whose struggle to submit while still attempting to rescue her charges will resonate with readers. Jeremy's need to dominate is feral, but it balances nicely with his need to protect Lily. The story's pacing is quick, with plenty of scorching scenes to buffer the conflict."
Also, Eastern Ambitions is officially up for pre-sale at Samhain. WOOHOO. That's extra exciting because it means it's less than one month to release day (11/8) AND it means the book is on the 30% off cover price discount standard for Samhain presales. You can check it out here, just $3.85. It's also up on Amazon and other third party resellers for presale if you prefer. And while we're talking about Compass Brothers I have to tell you that we're working on edits on Western Ties right now. I can't wait until you all can read how Mari handled Sawyer's story. I knew what was going to happen and it still had a major emotional impact when I read it. The whole series is one I'm really proud to be a part of.

My new favorite book…
[image error]I know I've said before how much I adore Cara McKenna's books. Dirty Thirty. YUM. Skin Game, hell I stayed in my room at Romanticon until almost noon one day finishing that one off. But when I heard Cara had written about a male prostitute I wasn't sure how I'd feel reading it given the Red Light series and my experiences in Amsterdam and my tendency to be really picky about subjects I have a viewpoint on. So, holy crap, I'm not joking…. I HIGHLY recommend you read Curio. It might be the best erotic book I've ever read. Heck, take that out of it. It's in my top five books of all time. Period. I don't want to spoil any surprises so let me just say… I laughed, I sighed, I cried.
In fact, I was working on the next installment in Rick and Star's adventure but I don't think there's any chance I could live up to what I read today so I'm going out with friends instead. Pumpkin picking here I come. In the meantime, read Curio. You won't regret it!

Six Sentence Sunday – Razor's Edge
Okay, since Razor's Edge came out in print this week I thought I'd do six silly sentences from this book (Men in Blue 2) for Six Sentence Sunday. Hope you enjoy!
"And you are…"
"Razor."
Terrific. A monosyllabic, motorcycle-riding, dance-hating Neanderthal named after a cutting implement. Piece of cake.
"Nice to meet you, Razor."

Six Sentence Sunday
Hello! I'm trying this for the first time so hopefully I don't mess it up. There's a really cool place called http://www.sixsunday.com/where a bunch of authors post… yep, six sentences from really cool books they've written. Check it out!
Here are my six sentences, from Mistress's Master (Men in Blue 3) which is available now from Samhain Publishing! Since I learned about the group from Jambrea Jo Jones I figured I'd pick an excerpt featuring the character named after her in this series
Jambrea might as well have triple-dog dared them.
Matt leaned in while Clint scooted closer, trapping her between them. "You like the idea of Lily with all those guys? Have you ever had sex with more than one man at once?"
He cupped her jaw in his hand to prevent her from giving herself whiplash, which she would if she continued to glance back and forth between them so much.
"It sounds pretty hot."

Who has a new book today? Mari does!
Mari never does anything halfassed. So, not only does she have a new release out today but it's a whole new SERIES as well. Party Naked is book one of the Cocktales. Yeah, I know. You can groan here. I did too.
But you know the book is going to be fun and hot just like all the rest of Mari's stories. I hope you'll check out Party Naked, available from Ellora's Cave today!
Cocktales, Book One
Stephanie Harper is perfectly happy co-owning Books and Brew, where she slings drinks and entertains her friends with cutting wit and a cynical take on love. She's convinced she has no time for anything deeper than sex; she has a business to run, after all. And her thrice-married mother has proven happy every after doesn't exist.
Jarod Nolan begs to differ. Chance has him running into Steph—and giving her a ticket—one morning, but it's fate that finds him in her place of business that same evening. A sizzling one-night stand ensues, and although Stephanie escapes before he wakes the next morning, Jarod is already sure she's worth the chase.
Steph's more than willing to party naked with the hot cop, but she's adamant they're driven by lust, not love. Jarod is prepared to prove otherwise, even if it means giving up one of the things he and Stephanie do best…
What's that old saying? Abstinence makes the heart grow fonder?
