Compass Brothers Rule!!! Contest

Western TiesTo celebrate the release of Western Ties, I'm holding a Spread The Word contest. It's quite simple. Mari and I are asking you to help us spread the word about this book. Tweet it, Facebook it, talk about it on a yahoo group, email a friend, tell your neighbor, call your mother, blog about it. Anything! Just…well, anything.

Then…come back here, tell me how you shared the news and your name will go in the hat for a drawing. One winner will receive promo goodies as well as any ebook from my backlist.

And on behalf of Mari and myself, THANK YOU for all the support and well-wishes, lovely emails and posts about this series. Your kindness as we've muddled our way through this uncharted path of co-writing has been more appreciated than we could ever say. I'll announce the winner Sunday evening (Mari is doing a shorter version of this contest ending tomorrow if you're quick!).

Western Ties is available at SamhainAmazonBarnes and Noble, Kobo, Sony and All Romance Ebooks.

How strong are the ties that bind?

Compass Brothers, Book 4

Leah Hollister's sex life needs a swift kick in the pants. Small-town Compton Pass, though, isn't the place to explore her need for bondage. When she gets an invitation to a BDSM party out in LA, she wastes no time booking a flight.

Her plan to play anonymously is shot to hell when she runs into high-school crush Sawyer Compton—and he lays immediate claim to her.

Sawyer Compton commands total control, in and out of the bedroom. He never thought Leah could handle his darker urges, but one look at the white bracelet that marks her as a sub ripe for the picking, and he knows exactly how this night is going to end. With Leah in his bed.

Leah didn't expect to enjoy the comfort Sawyer's familiarity brings, even as his touch takes her to unimaginable heights of pleasure. When bad news from home sends him reeling, she's more than prepared to offer him anything he needs: her body, her friendship. Even her heart—if Sawyer can loosen the reins over his own to accept her love.

Invest in tissues. Lots and lots of tissues. Between spicy, set-the-sheets-on-fire bondage romps and the last Compass brother coming home, you'll need them.

Excerpt:

"Leah?" a familiar male voice behind her said.

Leah closed her eyes and prayed she'd imagined it. There was no way. No possible way—

"Leah Hollister?"

She sighed. Fuck. What were the chances?

Turning, she realized her night wasn't going to end as she'd planned. She should have saved her money. Should have stayed inComptonPass. She was screwed.

"Sawyer." She didn't bother with the pretense of being happy to see him. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"Leah," Stacey whispered, her voice full of warning.

Sawyer narrowed his eyes, refusing to answer. His gaze started at the top, taking in her dramatic makeup, before drifting lower to her breasts, accentuated by the tight corset Stacey had loaned her. She willed herself to remain still as he finished his visual tour with a long look at her short leather skirt and stocking-clad legs.

"Enjoying the view?" she taunted. "You still haven't answered my question. Shouldn't you be inSan Francisco? What are you doing here?"

He scowled. "That's my question for you. A BDSM party inL.A.is a long way from a kindergarten classroom inComptonPass.Last time I saw you, you were leading a pack of five-year-olds around my family's ranch."

A couple of years earlier, Sawyer had helped her organize a field trip to Compass ranch. It had been one of the highlights of the year for her students—and for her. It was also the last time she'd seen Sawyer. Two years was a long time. She certainly hadn't expected their reunion to take place inL.A.

She sucked in a deep breath and tried to hide her disappointment. He was right. She'd purposely put herself as far away from home as possible, so that she could indulge in these two nights. One weekend to confirm a few suspicions she'd always held in regard to her sexual preferences. Sawyer was going to put a wrench in the works.

She gestured at her outfit. "I would think my role here would be obvious." For the first time, she allowed her gaze to travel over him as well. Her body heated with arousal as she noted how unbelievably sexy he was. He wore tight dark jeans and a black T-shirt that hugged his muscular chest to perfection. No one in the place would fail to read the dominance in his stance, the aura of power he projected.

On the surface, she was shocked to find her friend in a place like this, but there was another part—deep inside—that wasn't a bit surprised. He belonged here.

"So you're a Dom?" She fought the urge to laugh as she asked the absurd question. Of course he was.

His gaze drifted to her arm. He grasped her wrist, pulling it up and toying with the white wristband the host had given her upon arrival.

"You understand what this means, right?" he asked, gesturing to the bracelet.

Sawyer completely ignored her Dom question. It didn't matter anyway. It had clearly been rhetorical. He was aCompton. Anybody and everybody from their neck of the woods knew that name was synonymous with alpha male.

She gave him an annoyed look. "Of course I do."

It was evident from his tone he didn't think she belonged here any more than Stacey. One of the reasons she'd planned this adventure far away from home, surrounded by strangers who didn't know her, was because rumors spread like wildfire in their small hometown. She knew about Sawyer's sexual proclivities, and she'd always wondered if she shared a few of them.

Besides, her sweet disposition didn't inspire the more adventurous cowboys back home to ask her out, so her opportunities for exploration were seriously limited. Julie was right. She was a goody-goody.

Sawyer didn't appear to like her answer, so he restated the obvious. "It means you are an unattached submissive who's looking for a Dom. This wristband has declared it open season on you."

She shrugged, unconcerned. "Sorry to shatter the illusion, Sawyer, but I think I can handle whatever this party dishes out. It's not like I'm a virgin."

He frowned. "You lost your virginity in the backseat of a Pontiac to Les Prescott after Compton Pass won the district football championship our senior year. The guy was a shithead. You should've chosen better."

Leah laughed, though a ripple of desire slammed into her. It was always this way with Sawyer. Though they were just friends, there'd never been a time when she hadn't felt his gaze on her. He'd scared off more than a few would-be boyfriends in her lifetime claiming they were only after one thing. Les had fallen into that category, but Sawyer had been playing on that championship team and had been a bit distracted that night.

Sawyer had appointed himself her personal guardian in third grade when Jordan Haskiell had shoved her down on the playground after she'd beat him in a footrace. As a result, Sawyer had endured an afternoon in the principal's office and God only knew what kind of punishment at home after issuingJordana very physical, very painful warning of what happened to guys who messed with Leah. While Sawyer hadn't pursued her romantically, he'd certainly taken the bonds of friendship to a new extreme.

Despite the fact they'd existed in different cliques at school, Sawyer hadn't let social status stop him from being one of her best friends. He'd run with the jocks and cheerleaders, while she'd been firmly encamped with the brainiacs, less affectionately referred to as nerds by their peers. "How could you have known about Les?"

"I told you. He was a prick. He was bragging about it at school the following Monday."

She flushed. She'd never heard of Les spreading rumors about her. "I didn't know—"

Sawyer grinned. "Luckily, he started his boasting with me. I took him out behind the school and gave him a reason to shut his fucking mouth."

His admission held a hint of humor, but she could tell he was angry. She decided to test the waters to see how screwed she was.

"Well, it was great to see you again, but Stacey and I were going to pop over to the bar for a drink."

"I'll go with you." He confirmed her fear.

She smiled and shook her head. "No, I don't think that's a good idea. You're scaring off all the other Doms."

His wolfish grin let her know that was his intent.

Her temper sparked. "God dammit, Sawyer. Go away."

Stacey lightly touched her arm, alerting Leah that she'd spoken too loudly. Several people glanced in her direction and frowned. She was never going to achieve her goal at this rate.

Sawyer was the only person in the room who didn't take offense at her faux pas. "You realize this is a weekend party?"

She nodded. It was starting to look like it would be a long two days.

Sawyer reclaimed her hand, slipping off the white bracelet.

"What the hell are you doing?" She tried to pull her arm free, attempting to grab the wristband back.

Sawyer's grip was implacable. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a green bracelet. Suddenly, she felt dizzy. There was no way he would—

Sawyer slipped it around her wrist.

"No," she whispered when he lifted her hand.

New Cover – Nailed to the Wall!

NailedToTheWall72LG

Go ahead and click the picture for a larger version, you know you want to!  Angie Waters has done it again, bringing the crew to life.  I LOVE this new addition to the Powertools artwork.   Here's a little bit about Book 5, which will be out May 15th from Samhain Publishing.

Powertools, Book Five

The crew is back and they're dirtier than ever.

Five sexy men with a penchant for love and lust in any variation have formed a crew. They work hard and play harder—together. Though their partnership began in construction, renovating houses and selling them for a mint, they've formed a bond around their shared goal to provide women, and each other, with the ultimate sexual experience.

Over the past year, as each member discovered his soul mate—or two—they expanded the reach of their circle, lighting up their nights along with their souls. Monogamous relationships and the desire to start families threaten to put their libertine revelry on the back burner. Will the passion that bonded them fade away? How will the crew's new wives cope with the complex relationship the men will always cherish and crave?

Determined to prove they stand by their men, the women decide it's time to flex some muscle and give the crew a dose of girl power. They collude to take the guys as their horny hostages, using some big guns: boudoir photos, a pillow fight and a calculated foray into partner swapping. But will they have the guts to go through with their plans?

Warning: By Book Five in this series, fans will attest that anything goes in the crew. Be prepared for ménage in every flavor–m/f, f/f, m/f/m, f/m/f, m/m/f and more–along with a slew of that's what he said jokes. No throwing tomatoes at the author, please!

Last Day for Free Books & A Plea

Happy Sunday!  I hope everyone is having a great weekend.  I wanted to send out a message to make sure you don't miss you last change.  Today is the final day that Through My Window is free on Kindle and B&N.  After this it goes back to regular price.  So get your free hookers while they last! :)

Also, a little favor to ask.  I usually don't ask for votes for contests on my blog but Whipped Cream had a technical issue yesterday afternoon for their book of the month poll.  Devon's Pair was in the lead at the time of the crash and all votes were lost.  The book is now sitting in 3rd.  So, if you voted early yesterday your vote poofed.  Or if you hadn't voted yet but enjoyed Devon's Pair, I would greatly appreciate a vote here.  The poll closes tonight.

Thank you and Happy Reading!

New Book Release – Free For All

freeforall_FINALI am both super excited and a little sad to say that Free For All, Red Light Series book 4, releases tomorrow morning.  The part of me that's not thrilled (okay, it's a really small part) is pouting because I believe this will be the last in the series, although you know me, I never rule out a return visit entirely. Plus I do think there's still some unfinished business left in the District.  You know, like Mari the hooker. ;)

I have thoroughly enjoyed writing Star and Rick's story.  Though it took them four whole books to do it right, I hope you'll note that this book is not part of the Exotika line.  Translation… you might just get that HEA you've been waiting for!

This series is one of my absolute favorite and contains the books I'm most proud of writing.  I've taken two trips toCan't Buy Love Amsterdam since I began the project and found a city I loved.  There are so many contrasting and unusual aspects about it from the canals (did you know they have more than Venice?), to the laid back, artsy atmosphere and of course the crazy nightlife.  I've canoed through the wetlands (like Rick and Star do in this book), eaten pastries from Huize Van Wely, visited the Red Light district, and even stayed on a houseboat docked in the Amstel river near the opera house… all sacrifices in the name of research of course!  LOL  I hope all that hard work paid off but I'll let you be the judges of that.

Another random fun fact about the books… There is not one single chapter between all four of them.  None of the books have chapter headings.  Instead, each book has a theme that divides the scenes.  In Through My Window (book 1), it's the time of night as you follow Star through a night on the job.  In Star of Christmas (book 2) it's the sections of a play starting with Overture (as there is a naughty stage production in the book).  For Can't Buy Love (book 3), it's song titles all the way.  My favorite of course, was Crazy Little Thing Called Love.  So what's are the headings all about in Free For All (book4)?  Check out the excerpt below and see if you can guess…

Blurb:

After a courtship filled with nights steamy enough to thaw the lingering winter chill, Sarah is finally beginning to believe she might have found the one man who can support her career as a sex worker in Amsterdam's Red Light district. But when she asks around, it's clear Rick isn't taking advantage of the freedom their open relationship offers. None of the sexiest girls in the district have serviced him for months.

AStar of Christmasfraid of losing the star of her extra-naughty dreams, Sarah confronts her boyfriend about his change of heart. Rick confesses he's no longer interested in wild times without her. Instead, he'd like to try experimenting with multiple partners, show off his sexy woman and revel in the company of like-minded hedonists. Fortunately, he knows just the place for a debauched experience wicked enough to make even an experienced hooker blush.

A sexual free-for-all is on the menu at one of Amsterdam's infamous swingers' clubs, and by the end of the night, Sarah is going to get the surprise of her life.

Excerpt:

"When love is not madness, it is not love." ~Pedro Calderon de la Barca

Wind whips tendrils of my hair from the French braid I'd locked it in. Loose strands sting my face as I ride behind Rick. Tonight we streak through the twilight on his beloved Ducati instead of peddling on our bicycles. I must admit I prefer to cling to his heat and let the modern machinery do the work. I bury my face between his shoulder blades, counting on the broad span of his shoulders to protect me from the world around us.

How different it is to rely on someone after years of fierce independence. Somehow it doesn't seem as debilitating as I'd once considered such neediness. Knowing he would be equally lost without me balances our power. I grant myself permission to cling tighter to my man.

He revs the engine as though he's as eager to arrive at our destination as I am. We lean into the speed together.

He downshifts. I peek over his shoulder. Ahead, absolute blackness denotes the space where the river cuts through the unassuming countryside sprinkled with the glow of distant residential areas. A few more curves reveal a beacon, drawing us closer like moths to a flame. White lights drape from the decks of a mammoth ferry boat. I squint at the sudden brightness.

The bursts grow bigger in the night, reminding me of fallen stars. What other cosmic signs do I require to supplement my hopefulness? None.

Rick glides into a vacant space near a covered walkway. Silence in the wake of the roar of the engine is deafening. I peel myself from his back and wait for him to join me on the boardwalk leading to the docked vessel. He does, his stare locking on my flushed cheeks a moment before studying my studded leather jacket and skintight pants. It took both of us to pour me into them earlier. The effort was well worth it.Through My Window

"You know, we don't have to—"

"Yes. We do." I nibble on his lower lip. "Let me give you what you need."

"I need you."

"You have me." I rest my head on his shoulder.

"Will I after tonight?" The graze of his fingerless leather touring glove on my cheek grants me visions of all sorts of naughty role-playing possibilities. I file them away for another time.

"Yes."

"How can you be sure?" I swear I can hear his heart pounding beneath my cheek. "This isn't worth the risk. Let's go home, Sarah."

"We're going inside." I wrap my fingers around his belt buckle where it peeks from between the unzipped flaps of his jacket. Without another pointless argument, I pivot and angle toward the entrance. He seems like he might object again but the door swinging open interrupts his futile attempt to change my mind.

"Rick. Good to see you." An enormous bouncer with a bald head greets us. The thick chains between his septum and bridge nose piercings fascinate me. He slaps a meaty hand on Rick's shoulder. The impact rattles our bones where we're still joined together. "Thanks for covering last time. My youngest daughter had the flu and Jillian was out of town visiting her sister."

"No problem." Rick beams. "How is the munchkin? Still have you wrapped around her little finger?"

"A man in a house full of girls is doomed." His growl doesn't match his adorable grin. "They run wild and there's nothing I can do."

I'm sorry for my irrepressible giggle when his attention swings toward me, breaking the moment.

"Ludger, this is my girlfriend. Sarah."

"Nice to meet you, but I thought your name was Star." He's gentle when he envelops my fingers in a delicate shake.

"You know him?" Rick cocks his head at me before catching himself. "Sorry, what happens through your window…"

"He's not one of my clients." I would remember. A man his size would hardly fit in my tiny Red Light loft.

"Whoa." Ludger stacks his hands in front of his chest and wiggles his thumbs. "Awkward turtle!"

"What the hell is that?" Rick tilts his head, asking exactly what I'm wondering.

"I dunno. My kids do it. Seemed appropriate for implying… I mean, I didn't know she worked the district. You know that's not my thing."

Rick grimaces. "It'd be okay if you had. If not, how do you know her?"

"Who do you think covered for you while you were busy onstage in Tommy's Kinkmas pageant?" Ludger laughs, a boom that might scare me if he weren't so damn huggable. "I suppose it wasn't an act after all, though. No wonder the show was so hot. I had to stop at least half a dozen assholes from storming the stage for an up-close-and-personal look."

"Was everyone in the EU there?" Rick's cheeks glow a little.

"You should be proud of what you can do together." Ludger smiles, revealing a silver skull and crossbones on his front tooth. "Jillian's the best thing that ever happened to me. If you find someone who can love you for who you really are, you're set for life."

I stare up at Rick, waiting for his friend's advice to sink in.

"Shit. You're right. Okay, Sarah. Let's do this." He holds out his hand to me.

I squeeze his fingers with one of my hands then kiss the palm of my other and reach up on tiptoes to pat Ludger's cheek. "Thank you."

"Not sure what that was for, but you're very welcome." He nods. "I heard you're a first-timer. I'll let Rick show you around. Think you should know the basic rules though. We have an undress code. Through this door is a changing room. Lingerie only on the other side. Besides that, it's nothing you wouldn't guess. Respect the wishes of the people around you. No cameras or cell phones either. What happens here, stays here. And most important, have fun."

"I don't think that's going to be a problem." I smile at the two guys then head toward the pink door Ludger had gestured toward. Rick aims for a similar blue portal on the other side of the lobby. "See you in a minute."

"Miss you," he calls softly.

"Oh please." Ludger mimes sticking his finger down his throat.

Happy reading!

Free Read!!!

That's right…I said free. For those of you who stopped by yesterday, the big announcement about something I've never done before:  have a book up for free!  For the next two weeks, Northern Exposure, the first book in the Compass Brothers series, will be free at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Sony. This is a great chance to give the series a try, but you need to move fast. This opportunity runs out on Jan. 28.  I can honestly say these four books that Mari and I wrote together have been a journey for both the Compass Brothers and myself.  I am infinitely proud of the end result and I hope you enjoy the brothers' stories.  Happy FREE reading!

All roads lead home when that's where you've left your heart.

Compass Brothers, Book 1

Silas Compton always had his eye on Lucy, the veterinarian's daughter. He was even content to wait for the girl of his dreams to grow up before getting anywhere near her with his family's double-edged legacy.

Waiting around led to fooling around with his best friend—and an impulsive eruption of desire that Lucy's innocent eyes weren't meant to see. Figuring Compton Pass wasn't big enough for the three of them or the pain he'd caused, Silas let loose his tightly reined wanderlust and headed for Alaska.

Ten years later, when an oil rig accident sends him home, he braces himself for the reopening of old wounds. Instead he finds himself in the care—and welcoming arms—of Lucy and Colby, whose marriage has plenty of room for the man they both still love. And forgive with all their hearts.

As things start to unravel at Compass Ranch, Silas must dig deep for the strength to assume his rightful place in theComptonfamily…and lay the foundation for a future with his lovers. If he can forgive himself.

Warning: This book is overflowing with sexy cowboys who like to saddle up and ride each other as well as the woman of their dreams. The likelihood of becoming addicted to their ranch family is high. With three more stories yet to come, beware. You won't be able read just one!
