hello dude. explanations requested for the music played at the beginning and the end of the TCJ podcast: 1.) what even is that? 2.) why?
The intro song is an edited version of Everybody’s Talkin’ by Harry Nilsson.

The edit was made for me by cartoonist David King, whose comics can be seen here: http://www.reliablecomics.com
The outro song is a clip from You Are Boring The Shit Out Of Me by The Hanslick Rebellion

I know that everybody hates the outro, but I don’t care. It makes me laugh. Also, it comes in so abruptly and obnoxiously every time, I like to think it snaps the podcast listener out of their sleepy stupor.

Mike when you interview someone how do you record the conversation? Do you do it through Skype and use a call recorder? I'm following in your footsteps and am going to start a podcast. Any advice you could give would be great! Jude
Yep, I use Skype and have a program called Call Recorder which makes .wav files of the conversation. I edit in Audacity, use a program called Levelator to fix the sound levels, then export an MP3. Easy as pie. All cartoonists should have their own podcasts!

Freddie Mercury’s Luggage Tag
This little object...

Freddie Mercury’s Luggage Tag
This little object sitting on the shelves in the living room probably strikes visitors as odd. It’s not just a photo of a lady’s bottom; it was a luggage tag that once belonged to Freddie Mercury.
It was sent to me by a reader of Freddie & Me, who happened to be the nephew of Jim Hutton, the man Freddie Mercury was in a long term relationship with at the end of his life. He had this tag, and he thought it would be something I would like to own.
This photo of a lady’s bottom is special to me - not because it used to belong to someone famous - but because of the generous gesture it represents in that reader sending it to me after reading my story. The idea of people becoming connected to each other through art is one of the themes of Freddie & Me, and to me this luggage tag is a wonderful example of that happening.
