At the risk of being banned, can I ask, will there be a follow up to this? Is Kim supposed to come off as kind of a creepy radical alarmist asshole coming dangerously close to advocating violence against their opposition? Because if he’s being played as the straight man here, I don’t like the implications one bit.
I might post more excerpts, and I’m considering launching a Kickstarter to bring this book back into print, but I am not sure if I can post an exact followup. Kim is one of many characters in the book espousing different political perspectives. I am not sure if the narrative ever proves her explicitly right or wrong. I think it’s hard to say one way or another if she is or isn’t. Will a peaceful protest change the way the world works? Do liberals in rich countries really want to destroy the things they say they are fighting against?
