Book Description:
An erotic paranormal romance...
Sexy vampire, Luca Macquarie doesn't do love; especially not with humans. Yet, ever since he rescued Samantha Irving, he can't deny the enigmatic attraction he's developed for the alluring mortal woman. Concerned for her safety, he's determined to bring Samantha back to her coven. His mission is to go find the novice witch and bring her home, nothing more, nothing less; falling for her is not supposed to be part of the plan.
Samantha doesn't want to be a witch, yet that's exactly what she is. After failing to elicit her magic, she escapes to the mountains in an attempt to resume a semblance of her previous human life. When an arsonist torches her cabin, Samantha's worst fears are realized. Aware that her life is on the line, she reluctantly agrees to return to New Orleans with Luca.
In the Big Easy, Samantha and Luca embark on a spellbinding journey, searching for a mystical amulet that promises to release her obligation from an ancient, lethal vampire who's been threatening her life. With cryptic clues and clandestine allies, will Luca and Samantha destroy the dangerous amulet before others acquire it, setting forth a chain of catastrophic consequences? And will Luca give into his erotic desire for the witch who magically captures heart?

EXCERPT #2:

Yes,” was the only word he heard in response to his proposal; Luca lost control. Passionately and provocatively, he took her with a hungry urgency. It wasn’t sweet. His mouth claimed hers, savagely taking what was his. The intoxicating nectar of Samantha only made him kiss her more deeply. He wanted her in a way that he’d never wanted any woman. Determined to possess every part of her body and mind in the moment, he would claim her tonight. She’d be his forever.

Luca tore his lips from hers. “Bedroom. Now,” he commanded. Leading her by her small soft hand, he stopped her before they got to his bed.

“I will have you tonight, Samantha. After tonight, you’ll never forget that you are mine. And I will be yours.”

Samantha silently nodded in response. She was ready to commit to this man, this vampire. Luca was everything she’d ever wanted in a male: strong, loving, trustworthy, and passionate. She knew in her heart that giving herself over to him was all she desired now and for her future.

Luca unraveled the belt on her robe, slid his fingers underneath the soft fabric and slowly pushed it off Samantha, letting his hands glide from the smooth skin of her shoulders to her hands. As the robe pooled at her feet, he gently took her hands in his. She stood bare before his eyes. “You’re enticing, Samantha. I cannot seem to get enough of you. So the question is, do you want to play with me tonight? Be honest with me, darlin’, because I plan to take you to places we’ve never been before.”

Samantha felt womanly, exposed to Luca. She trusted him completely as he released her hands and placed his on her waist. “Luca, please, hurry. I can’t seem to keep my hands off of you.”

“Well, I guess we’ll have to do something about that,” he smiled knowingly. “Turn around, face the wall. Don’t move unless I tell you. It’s time for some fun.”

Without question, she complied and waved her bottom at him, shooting him a sultry look that said, ‘come and get me’.

Luca loved how responsive she was under his direction. He didn’t ever bring women into his home, and certainly engaging in a little light bdsm was something he rarely did anymore. Yet he’d wanted to do this to her since the minute she’d danced with him in the club. Luca slid his hands slowly up the sides of her waist, under her arms, pushing them upward and placing the palms of her hands against the wall. With the same precision, he glided his hands back down her arms, waist, until finally, he reached her bottom.

“Samantha, you are everything I’ve ever wanted in a woman; beautiful, smart.” She let out a small moan; he rubbed his hard aching bulge against her. He wanted to fuck her right now, but he wouldn’t dare. No, he planned to make her beg for mercy as he slowly brought her to orgasm over and over.

Though he was still fully clothed, she could feel his magnificent erection against her bum. She wanted him in her now; she grew wet from the intense ache between her legs. “Please, Luca.”

His hands slid from her ass around to lie just beneath her sensitive bosom. She moved slightly to urge him to cup her breasts. He smiled, smelling the overwhelming scent of her desire, but he wanted to draw out the anticipation, tease her with delight. “No, no, no, darlin’. Not tonight. You don’t get to decide when or how the pleasure happens. You wanted to play, so play we shall,” he whispered into her ear. Goosebumps ran over her skin in response to his hot breath. “Tonight is about wanting what you can’t have until I give it to you. It’s about me savoring every stroke of your flesh. The ultimate pleasure, tasting you while you come, screaming my name. Now, do you want me to touch your lovely breasts? Tell me, Samantha.”

Luca’s Magic Embrace is my second paranormal romance novel, which is the second novel in the Immortals of New Orleans Series. I have also written and published several articles about autism. I developed a late interest in writing after my son was diagnosed with autism and I started advocating on his behalf. Three years ago, I started my own website, www.AutismInRealLife.com and now blog and write articles for PsychologyToday.com.
I live in Pennsylvania with my husband, two children and our dog, Ace. My hobbies include autism advocacy, reading, tennis, zumba and traveling. New Orleans is one of our favorite places to visit with its rich culture and unique cuisine. But we also love traveling just about anywhere that has a beach or snow covered mountains.  I love reading mysteries, romances and about all things regarding vampires, werewolves and other supernaturals.

Book Description:
Country hat act Markus Kane is pretty skeptical when one of his oldest industry friends calls and asks him to do a joint tour. He and Seb haven’t seen each other in years, not since Markus quit drinking. Maybe not since he and Sebastian Longchamps almost lost their careers to the fact that they couldn’t keep their hands off each other.Sebastian is a country-fried Cajun rocker, and he’s been missing Markus ever since they broke up all those years ago. His label thinks he and Markus are a match made in ticket-sales heaven, but Seb knows better. He knows that it won’t take even the tiniest effort for Markus to break his heart all over again, and this time around he has way more to lose.Time has changed both men, though, and while Markus and Seb try to fight their addictions, the big music industry machine has plans for them that don’t include the quiet life. Can Markus convince Sebastian that there are things more important in life than adrenaline and control? And can Sebastian make Markus understand that all he really wants is his music and his man?
Excerpt

Markus wiped his hands on his jeans. The place was an island paradise, and he felt seriously overdressed, but this was a business meeting first, right? He'd chosen jeans, boots, and a white shirt, no starch. That was his concession to the tropical location.

Later, when he was sure he and Seb could still see eye to eye on anything, he'd bust out the board shorts and flip flops.

Jesus, why was he suddenly so fucking nervous? This was Seb. There wasn't much Markus hadn't known about the man, once upon a time. From the way Seb whistled in his sleep to the way those muscled shoulders looked when the hot little son of a bitch was on his knees sucking cock.

Oh. Bad image.

No remembering that, not in these jeans.

Seb came in the door, the tiny bald fucker wearing a pair of gauzy pants that hung so low Markus could see the hipbones holding them up, an LSU T-shirt, and a pair of dark sunglasses on. "Candy! Damn, man!"

"Hey, Seb!" He shook the man's hand, not sure if anything else was appropriate.

"You look great, dude. Happy, healthy. You get some sleep?" Seb tugged him in, gave him a solid man hug, hand slapping his back.

"I did." Seb smelled like coconut and musk. God, that was yummy.

"Excellent." Seb stepped back, grinned. "So fucking glad you showed. Have a seat. Did Bev take care of you?"

"She's been great." Hell, he'd had everything he could ever want. Seb's assistant had even taken the wet bar out completely, just leaving juices and sparkling water. The woman was inhumanly efficient.

"She's a champ." Seb settled in a chair across from him, muscles rippling under the thin T-shirt. "So, Jack says you have demands. Demand away."

Markus blinked, trying to remember what all he'd wanted to talk on. "Well, Tawny has dealt with all the advertising equality and all that bullshit."

Seb waved one hand. "If the suits had a problem with that shit, we wouldn't be here. I know that. I'm not looking to fuck you over, man. I just want to make some music and some money."

"I know that." He rolled his eyes. Blunt little fuck. "I also know you're a control freak. We write the EP together. We do at least one duet. And I can't tell your boys what to do on tour and all, but I need to know there won't be booze backstage or on my buses."

There. That was the hard part, right out in the open.

"Works for me. I don't drink, and my boys are family men now. They may have a beer on their bus, but that's their issue." Seb stretched. "Your people are taking care of your buses; mine mine. I want my boys to play on the recording, at least on half the songs."

"Sure." Half of Markus' band had actually retired last year. He'd made them a pretty good living over the years. "I want Kyle on fiddle, but other than that I'm easy."

"Kyle still with you? Even after rehab? I'm impressed."

"Dude, Kyle is on Weight Watchers. He's way more scary on sugar detox than I was on withdrawal." It could be hell to get old. Markus knew from experience.

"Oh, man. I mean, I get it. I know what I eat. I'm careful." Shit, careful. There wasn't an ounce of fat on Seb, that Markus could see. It was a good look, but he had to admit it was a little unnerving.

"You know me. I get off the sauce and I can eat a lot." He could still devour the Waffle House as long as he hit the gym.

"Rock on." One near white eyebrow lifted, rising above Seb’s dark glasses. "So, you want to do a couple of rocking cuts, one ballad, one cover and something... patriotic?"

"Something summertime, maybe?" He could think of a thousand song choices that wouldn't offend anyone... Yeah. Something they could base a tour on.

"You know me, I'm a sun baby." Yeah, Seb'd made a career on being the wild child -- hang gliding, snowboarding, motorcycles, airplanes. Anything and everything. Extreme sports events vied for the man to do shows like rodeos begged for Markus.

"Good." What else was there? He knew he'd had a list.

"So, studio in February, first release in April, tour starts in May?"

"Yeah. Yeah, that works. I've got some award shows in May, so we'll have to schedule it."

"Sure. Tawny and Jack will run with that. Who's your assistant?"

"Uh. Tawny has one." He didn't have a PA anymore.

"Dude. How do you function?"

"I got my laptop. My phone. Tawny is superhuman." His ears felt hot. He wasn't as busy as he'd been once, either.

"I'm impressed. I'm not smart enough to keep all that shit straight."

He surprised himself by wanting to growl. "You do fine."

Seb chuckled, bare feet curling up under his legs. "So. I'm yours until noon. Wanna write?"

"Hell, yes. I got my guitar." He pulled off one boot, then the other. The business meeting was over.

"Fucking A!" He got this grin -- wide and wild and pleased. "I'll grab the pens and paper."

Markus found that he had the same goofy grin on his lips, too. They had always connected best over music.

Wherever they were.

Seb came back with two bottles of water, a pad of paper, and a guitar case. "Let's do it."

"Start with the stadium rocker?"

"Uh-huh. I was thinking something about fireworks and flames?" Seb plopped down beside him, pulled out the ancient six-string. God, how many memories did he have about that man and that Gibson? Shit.

"Old flames, maybe. America loves an old love story come back to life." He popped his acoustic out of the case. It wasn't old, but he loved it and it was custom.

"Oh, man. Fireworks and Old Flames. I fucking love the hook." The words were scribbled down in Seb's weird, backassward script.

"Yeah." He keyed up the first chord, already having a good idea where they were going. Man, he hadn't been this fired up to write in months.

Hell, maybe Seb would be good for him, like a B12 shot or one of those juice fasts.

Either way, Markus figured it wouldn't be boring, and that was a shot in the arm to his semi-retired life.

People Watching Guest blog with Miranda Stork

Is People Watching Really That Nosy?
I’m not sure if some of the rest of you do this, but I LOVE to people watch. The Italians do it constantly, and I think they have it right. Now before you freak out on me and start screaming “STALKER!”, just let me explain.
Where I’m sat at the moment, I’m looking out of my study window to outside our cottage. Our cottage happens to sit along the route for the Cleveland Coast-to-Coast walk. It’s a beautiful walk that runs from the Irish Sea at St Bees to the North Sea at Robin Hood’s Bay, and is around 192 miles. It passes through three national parks and really is something that everyone should do at least once. Well, I get an awful lot of walkers coming past my window on this long walk, some of them from as far afield as Australia and America. All of them look very different, some of them wearing thick coats, others with an MP3 player plugged in their ears.
And when I’m running dry on what to write on the screen in front of me, I like to look out of the window and try to restart my brain once more. And when someone walks past in their little group, I like to make up a story for them, if they look interesting. I’ll give you an example, which will probably also give you a little insight into how my mind works. (You have been warned.)
A lady just went past on her own, apart from her group, carrying a heavy pack on her back, and wearing no coat, despite the weather being a little cooler today. She has wrap-around shades on, and looks as though she is concentrating very heavily on something. so, to build a story for her, I begin to ask some questions.
Why is she walking on her own? Perhaps she has fallen out with the group. Perhaps she thinks they are not taking the walk seriously. Yes, I think it’s that one, looking at how they are laughing and taking their time, but she looks like she is thinking of nothing else.
Why isn’t she wearing a coat? It could be as simple as she is too warm, but it really is cold today. Maybe it’s because she wants to feel the cold-yes, she is punishing herself in some way. Which leads to the question-
Why is she doing this walk? She doesn’t look as though she is enjoying it much. This is where I really use some artistic licence. From the way she looks, and is concentrating, she is heavily driven. Perhaps she has always been driven, and used to work in a high-flying job in an advertising agency or such. She had a wonderful grandmother who had brought her up since she was ten. The reason she is so driven is because her parents were very poor, and died when she was young. She never wanted to feel that way again, so her life became about money. Her grandmother was sad to see this. Her grandmother recently died, and her last words to her grand-daughter were, “Life is about more than money. You must experience life. You must do more with your life.” The lady spent several weeks crying in secret and grappling with this after her death, and eventually had a break-down at work, forcing her company to put her on extended leave. She made her mind up to follow what her grandmother asked of her, and made up a list of all the great things she could think of to do. So one of those things is to do this work, and her thoughts are constantly on her grandmother.
So now we have a story for this lady. We can give her a name…erm….Linda. And now she will at some point become a character in a book of mine. (Seriously, no-one pinch this, I will use it, and I’ll know where you got it from. Then I will hunt you down and beat you with…a KIPPER!)
And that is how I sometimes build my most interesting characters. So if you ever see me staring at you on the bus or at a coffee shop, don’t freak out, it’s only because you’re about to become that strange fey-like creature in my book that grows fangs. Nothing to worry about at all.
So how do you build your characters? Is it as weird(nosy) as this? Or do you have another method?

Aodhan is a shadow-demon, hardened and cold after years of being alone, after his love, his Entwined, was cruelly taken away from him. He has closed his heart to the world, and now spends his life ridding the world of men like those who took his beloved away, an immortal hit-man…
Arianwen Harris is a young DCI, working for York City Police. When a known criminal is found viciously killed, she finds herself trailing a hit-man who has seemed to escape clutches again and again…but she begins to find herself drawn to his dark charms and roguish good looks…
As their two worlds collide, Aodhan and Arianwen find themselves coming together to escape a far greater enemy, one that threatens to create a world far worse than the one they live in. As they battle to hold back the oncoming forces, fate has another plan; one to draw them together and heal their broken pasts together…
About the Author:
I was born in Guisborough, North Yorkshire in 1987 and have lived in various places around Britain, including Newcastle and Glasgow.
My writing is inspired by various writers, including the vivid characters of Charles Dickens, the imagination of Stephen King, and the gothic imagery of Anne Rice.
My love of horror began at an early age, when I was only three or four. I could read proficiently at the age of three, and devoured fairy-stories, but I always had a bent towards the darker stories, such as the Brother's Grimm's tales...Red Riding Hood was always a firm favourite, although I always felt sorry for the wolf, despite him having tried to eat everyone!

Interview and Giveaway with Jacoba Dorothy

Can you tell readers a little bit about yourself and what inspired to write in this particular genre?
My pen name is Jacoba Dorothy. I am a mother, wife and work part time as a teacher. I live in Canberra, Australia’s bush capital, which is freezing in winter, but a lot more pleasant than a lot of other places, in the heat of summer.
When I first began writing I was drawn to the YA genre, as it is the one that captures my interest the most. I enjoy writing through the eyes of a young adult, as it allows you to revisit the complexities of life at an earlier age, when life is just beginning and the future it yet to be determined. There always seems to be an element of hope and optimism in most YA novels which I find refreshing and satisfying as a reader, and now as a writer.
What inspired you to write this book?
My nan, who lived in England, and whom I only met once in my life, gave me a book of poems by Alfred Lord Tennyson, when I was a teenager. I loved the Lady of Shalott poem and learnt it off by heart. So years later, I used that as my inspiration for writing the Eternal Curse Trilogy.
 I love the mystery of the poem. The fact The Lady of Shalott is cursed but doesn’t know by who, or why. I’m also captivated by the mystique and sadness of her life—being trapped away from society. A life only lived through watching a reflection of the world. As a writer, I found all of those themes fascinating to explore in a contemporary young adult novel.

Please tell us about your latest release.
Reflections, is the first book in the Eternal Curse series. It is a story about two sisters who are cursed by their aunt, to determine who will be the next sorceress in their family. Only one can be chosen, and in making that choice, one sister will be isolated, no one will be able to love her, while the other will live a life not being able to love anyone. This first book is written from my main character Jo’s point of view as she uncovers the truth about the curse and her family and attempts to make everything right again.
Do you have a special formula for creating characters' names? Do you try to match a name with a certain meaning to attributes of the character or do you search for names popular in certain time periods or regions?
I actually used the Lady of Shalott poem as the inspiration for some of the characters names, but mostly I used names that I like. For example, James is my son’s middle name and Jack is my son’s actual name.
What is your favorite scene from the book? Could you share a little bit of it, without spoilers of course?
My favourite scene comes near the end, so I won’t share that, as it would be a spoiler. However my next favourite scene is this one.  This is from chapter seventeen. Jo, my main character is listening in on a conversation between James, the boy she likes, and his friend Tobias.
There was a pause before Tobias continued. “How about you, James? Seen anyone over the holidays?”Another pause and Jo’s throat constricted.“Not really…”Not really!!!! “… I took an old school friend out a few times while I was home but she still liked an old boyfriend in London. So I left things until she sorts herself out.”Jo clenched the bench while her stomach twisted in knots.“What if she ditches him? Will you pursue it?”“Not sure. She’s easy on the eye and I fancied her for a bit when we were at school.”Jo froze to the spot, the pounding of her heart, blocking out any more of their conversation. An uneasy feeling coursed through her body, making her nauseous.James mentioned going for drinks with an old school friend when they talked the other day, but she didn’t put it together. Of course James has someone and why would he tell me? He just sees me as a friend. Didn’t he just say that the other day? Why would he think of me any other way? Jo wrestled with her rational voice but couldn’t stop her reaction. For the first time in her life she’d entertained the thought of liking someone and fantasized they might actually reciprocate. So stupid! Jo tried to divert her thoughts to making dinner. Mindlessly she shoved pots aside until she finally found a large pot in the back of the cupboard. She pulled it out and banged it on the stove. Next she rummaged through the bags of groceries, not sure what she needed anymore, she just wanted to be busy. The onions had to be sautéed first, so she got them out and began to peel one. It only took the first layer of brown skin, before her eyes began to water. The tears fell unchecked. She put her head back, squeezed her eyes tight and tried to stem the flow.

With the book being part of a series, are there any character or story arcs, that readers jumping in somewhere other than the first book, need to be aware of? Can these books be read as stand alones?
For those that have read a portion of the second book, Shadows, I’ve been told the story can be read and understood, without reading the first. However, I did write the series as a continuing story, not three different stories using the same characters.  Although challenging, I hope I’ve achieved a good balance between catching readers up in the second book, without rehashing too many details.  I guess time will tell when I start getting feedback on the next book. As for the third one, it really does need to be read after the second one and wouldn’t work as a stand-alone book.
Do any of your characters have similar characteristics of yourself in them and what are they?
I’ve been told by a few friends that Jo and I share characteristics. I do like to immerse myself in books, and I was very shy as a teenager, but I certainly wasn’t isolated like Jo.  I had a lot of very nice friends growing up. As for first love, well it was nothing like Jo and James. I didn’t meet mine until I was well into my twenties.
Do you write in different genres?
I would like to. I am half way through another fantasy at the moment, a spoof on an old and well-loved fairy tale.  I have also started writing a fictionalized memoir of my son who has Down Syndrome. I’d love to write a contemporary romance, and maybe when I get really clever I’d love to write a thriller. All things to look forward to. I think it’s good to stretch the writing muscles and dabble in other genres.
When did you consider yourself a writer?
I suppose, on the release of this first book. I certainly see being called a writer different to being called an author.  I heard Stephen King say, when you earn enough to pay your first light bill, you can consider yourself an author. Well I haven’t achieved that goal yet, so something else to look forward to.
What was the last amazing book you read?
I’ve read some really good books, but one of the most amazing novels I’ve read recently would have to be, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne. A very disturbing but very clever YA book. Last year I read The Messenger by Markus Zusak which I absolutely loved, and it’s on my, all time best reads, and must read again, book list.
What can readers expect next from you?
Well, of course the next two books to in the Eternal Curse Trilogy. Shadows should be out in the near future and hopefully Enlightenment will be out sometime next year to conclude the series. And it does conclude, there won’t be any more after the third one, although my niece wanted me to write a fourth one.  I am also half way through writing a spoof on an old classic fairytale called Cold Grey. So, lots on the go at the moment.
Would you like to leave readers with a little teaser or excerpt from the book?
I’d love to. This is from the second chapter:
Jo took a deep breath and sank onto the floor examining her ring over and over. She’d only recently made the decision to wear it on her finger rather than on a chain around her neck. Now she debated if that was such a good idea. She closed her eyes, unable to stop the memories, as a sequence of flashbacks clouded her mind…
Nine years old, sitting on the swing, reading … Kicking her feet into the dirt to rock back and forth … Pulling her ring from where it lay hidden beneath her clothes … Feeling the cold surface of the smooth stone and admiring its layers of purple colouring. Her attention diverted by the sound of tyres skidding on gravel … a blue delivery van speeding toward the gates … their new puppy, Baxter, racing out the open front door into the path of the oncoming van … Leaping off the swing and throwing her book … Being frozen to the spot … gripping her ring, pressing even tighter, feeling the cold smooth stone twist away from the silver base … squeezing her eyes shut, bracing for the squeals from her puppy … then … nothing … only a deafening whirring sound, getting louder, and louder. Forcing her eyelids open … everything moving so fast … Blinking, blinking again as the blue van sped backwards out the driveway … her puppy bounding backwards into the house … Swaying … grabbing the tree trunk, feeling the sharp edges cut into her hand. Then everything so still … Running to the house … slamming the front door. The delivery van speeding up the road seconds later … Baxter safe, scratching on the inside of the front door, whimpering …
Even now, eight years later, it made her pulse race and her stomach churn. As a child it had terrified her and now it seemed like a dream or an over-active imagination. But she knew it wasn’t.

Guest Blog and Giveaway with Boone Brux: AAD Spotlight

So it’s that time of the year again, when out of town guests and friends invade our homes for holiday merriment. It’s particularly exciting for me because it’s a chance to show all the people in my life my new release, Kiss of the Betrayer. Hey, if they’re going to come to my house to eat my food and drink my booze they can damn well listen to me pimp my series.Anyway, Kiss of the Betrayer is book two of my Bringer and the Bane series, and is set in an alternate medieval world.  With my incredibly honed skill of random thought, I started to ponder what the holidays must have been like in a medieval castle. You’re probably thinking, I know where you’re going with this, Boone, food, drink, general merry-making traditions.
No, I’ve chosen a holiday subject that I am sure is near and dear to everybody’s heart—or bum—the bathroom.
Whenever I have company, the main area that gets the most use and abuse is the bathroom. It’s bad enough when Uncle Alan takes his cup of coffee and a copy of Field and Stream into the privy for a little quality time after a big meal, but just think what it was like in a castle that housed dozens, sometimes hundreds of people. The toe-tapping that must have gone on after a feast of course bread and ale makes me shudder.
There were many names for the bathroom in medieval times. The privy, garderobe, wardrobe, and nessecarium were just a few. By the way, I’m going to start calling my bathroom the nessecarium.
“If you’ll all excuse me, I must retire to the nessecarium for a brief respite.”
It sounds so much nicer than toilet. I digress. As a romance writer I gloss over this aspect of my characters’ lives. My readers don’t want to hear the intimate and frankly, disgusting details of this bodily function. It’s not sexy or romantic. Sure my heroine may take care of her personal needs behind a tree, but that’s as far as the description goes.
To illustrate the reasoning behind my lack of detail in my stories, I thought I’d include some pictures of medieval bathrooms.
The first picture is fairly self-explanatory. Often times the poo dropped directly into the moat or a big dung heap that was then covered with straw. I’ve read the stench was great. See what I mean? Sooo not sexy.
I doubt the medieval residents were shrewd enough to put the metal bar across to prevent anyone from falling in, so I’m assuming this is a modern addition.
Can you imagine the cold blast of air you’d get on a frigid Christmas morning?

Now this was what every castle needed when a horde of merry-makers descended. It’s a medieval maiden’s dream come true. She and her BFFs can travel to the garderobe together—no waiting.
I’m sure you get the idea. Like with my stories, I won’t go any deeper with the details and I’ll end my tidbit of Medieval trivia here.
Feel free to use it as a conversation starter during your family festivities. It’s my little gift to you. You’re welcome.

About the Author:
As a multi-published and an award winning author, Boone's writing drips with experiences from real life. Addicted to anything that might make a good story, she weaves tales that range from dark fantasy to humorous romance. Settled in the icy regions of Alaska with the love of her life and twin daughters, it's not uncommon to find her tapping away on her iPad on a windy beach or the barren tundra. Be warned, anyone and every even is fodder for one of Boone's novels.

The Dracula Chronicles: Bound By Blood
Shane KP O’Neill

Genre: Gothic Horror
ISBN:  978-0-9556701-0-7Word Count:   261,281
Cover Artist:  David Evans – GraphicStudio4
Book Description:
The Dracula Chronicles is the brilliant and terrifying new concept of Dracula. It is an epic journey through the ages where the forces of Light and Darkness struggle for supremacy until the Second Great War, as foretold in the Book of Revelations. This bitter feud began after the creation of mankind. Lucifer’s jealousy leads to the First Great War of the angels. Hundreds of thousands of years on the feud simmers beneath the surface. It plots the course of history as we know it today. Both sides manipulate the major players through the centuries to seek an advantage over the other.
On a cold night in December 1431 in Sighisoara an old gypsy woman delivers a prophecy to the great Vlad Dracul. She tells him he is about to sire two sons, one an angel and the other a devil. He returns to his fortress just as his wife bears him a son, whom he names Vlad. In the very same moment across the country on the border between Transylvania and Hungary a gypsy girl gives birth to another son, Andrei. The die is cast. The twin souls are born. The young Vlad Dracula becomes the instrument of the forces of Darkness. To balance this, the baby Andrei is blessed by the angels and bestowed with awesome powers. These chronicles are their story.

 About the Author:
The author developed a fascination with Dracula from an early age.  Like many others he was enthralled by Christopher Lee’s portrayal of him on the big screen.  It was in his late teens that he discovered Dracula the man and the love affair began from there.  An avid historian, he studied the period in which the real historical Vlad Dracula lived, 15th Century Balkan, for many years.  It followed from there then that with his love of writing he would always choose Dracula as his subject.
Away from writing, the author has a wide range of interests.  He has lived and travelled all over the world.  He has a love for all things historical, with a particular fascination for medieval Europe.  Anywhere he travels he likes to search out locations with an historical interest.  He is well read and in recent times has a preference for the work of James Patterson, Carlos Luis Zafon, John Grisham, Jeffrey Archer and Stephen King.  He also keeps his library well stocked with historical texts.
For a time he played scrabble on the international stage and represented Wales at the 2007 World Championship in Mumbai, India.  He has a real love of sport, most notably football, rugby union, cricket and boxing.  His great loves in the football world are Manchester United, Glasgow Celtic, Internazionale and lowly Luton Town.  His sporting heroes include George Best, David Beckham, Roy Keane, Ian Botham and Muhammad Ali.  His only other activities away from these are long country walks and time spent with friends and family.

Guest blog with Fumi Hancock

Building African Kingdoms, One Community at a Time with The Adventures of Jewel Cardwell: Hydra’s Nest Author, Fumi Hancock, her American Friendsand her colorful characters in Africa.

Come, let me take you to a Land;
                        A Land of Deep Rich Forest;
                                    A Land where Knowledge is our Clothing and
                                                Unconditional Love Our Way of Life;
                                    There is a river which flows in the Heart of this Land;
                        Come drink from the river of wisdom,

                        Our destination is Africa….. (Fumi Hancock, 1996)

As the holiday season kicks up in full gear all over the world and as I journey on with the virtual publicity tour for my newly released Young Adult Fantasy Book, The Adventures of Jewel Cardwell: Hydra’s Nest; I can’t help but reminisce over my experiences celebrating holidays in Africa.  This great adventure called The Adventures of Jewel Cardwellbeautifully brought back to my memory the wonderful times I’d shared with friends and family members, growing up in Africa. Armed with the desire to share this piece of me with my readers, I garnered up the courage, the enthusiasm and the commitment needed to tell the world how Africa can also be a beautiful place, even in its throes of poverty and difficulties.

As I share my humble and sincere heart with my readers, I continue to envision a world free of challenges, drama as we would often call them and desire a peaceful place where everyone can live in peace and harmony. I yearn for a place where children can move freely, live freely, eat freely and of course, never go hungry. It is my hope and desire that as I share my experiences with you; you will be moved to be a difference maker… reach out and touch someone in the most unusual and / or unexpected way.

To this effect, let me quickly share with you where my passion for this Young Adult Fantasy & Romance fiction emanated from…

                                                                        ~~~~~~~
My name is Fumi “Stephanie” Hancock.  I was born in Africa but have lived in the United States of America for over 30 years. A little over six years ago, my father, Prince T.A Ogunleye called me up and told me it was time to return home. I’d literally grown up in the US and this was now home to me. My father felt it was time to give back to Africa.
(source: wordlatlas.com)
This was an important trip for me as I’d not been back to my community in over 23 years!  The trip was equally important because one of my cousins, His Royal Majesty, King Emmanuel Adebayo, reigning King of Emure Ekiti Kingdom, a place tugged away in the Western region of Africa was being crowned and my father felt it was a great opportunity to reconnect with my roots.
                      (Picture of His Royal Majesty King Emmanuel Adebayo & Queen)
The journey was exhilarating yet filled with anxiety as I did not know what I was going to encounter.  I trusted my father, packed my bags and went back to West Africa with my family. It was the most incredible journey of my life… to witness a King’s coronation… no words could describe the feelings.
What was more important was the surprise which awaited me when I arrived in the community with my Tennessean friends! The community people rallied around me and reminded me of who I was… their princess who had been gone for long and was now back! I took the time to revisit my childhood boarding school and low and behold, all of my experiences at the school came rushing back.
 (source: adassafoundation.org)
With all of this jubilation came social responsibility… to come back to the United States, let the world know of this region in Africa and help to make a difference in whatever little way I could.
           (pictures of a classroom/ school with no electricity and broke down furniture)
(Premature babies born in rural clinics with no incubators and no medical equipment)
The King and his cabinet had a huge task on their hands and they knew it would require reaching out to all for assistance. It is amazing how when we reach out to give someone something that we may be lacking ourselves, how it turns around and blesses us back a thousand fold.  Because of my children in Africa, my life and that of my volunteers have forever changed.
We came back home, reached out to whoever would listen to our stories and began plugging away at the needs in Africa.  We hosted the King and some of his 63 cabinet members to a gala in Tennessee:
(Mayor Mike Dinwiddle, current Mayor of Spring Hill TN awarded an honorary chieftaincy title by his Royal Majesty, King Adebayo at a gala held in Franklin TN and Spring Hill declared sister city to Emure Kingdom)
To date, we currently sponsor 40 children who would ordinarily not have been able to attend school. We opened the very first state of the art library in that region ever…
 With the help of some Song writers & artists in Tennessee, Friend to an Angel a song honoring our African children was debuted and used in raising funds for our programs in Africa.  (Available at: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/theadassafoundationproje)
Today, I celebrate all of my African angels with the characters my readers will encounter in the Adventures of Jewel Cardwell: Hydra’s Nest. These vibrant and most times feisty characters are a culmination of my childhood friends as well as “those conjured in my head.” These characters as well as my African babies have consistently plagued my dream and haunted my mind into bringing them alive.
Every year I would return to Africa (with my American Friends) serving the children in these communities through my non-profit organization the Adassa Foundation, I am reminded of the colorful ambiance and the need to share this part of the world with book lovers.
There is more work that to be done. I am constantly in need of assistance to help move our programs forward.  Our next vision for this region is to build a Youth Center for Excellence where children can converge and learn rather than be in the streets roaming aimlessly. As we celebrate our holidays here in the US and all over the world, I urge you to consider joining me in putting a smile on yet another African angel’s face at www.adassafoundation.org or support by picking up the song: Friend to an Angel .
“I enjoyed the story of Jewel, it was fresh and in a setting that was new to me. The descriptions made me feel as if I was there. I experienced the place right along with our Jewel.  Every page was beautifully written and I was engrossed from start to finish.” Review by Sara Bree High, Goodreads.com.
Well, mission accomplished Sara. I wanted my readers to be transported to a place where they’d never been before. I wanted them to see how other people live in other parts of the world… I wanted them to also see how people like them, who have travelled to live in Africa… how they adjust to the culture and setting.  The characters though reside in Africa come from various parts of the world especially Europe. Enjoy the Behind-the-scenes pictures: (http://www.worldoffumihancock.com/#!behindrhescenes/ckg3)
A little about The Adventures of Jewel Cardwell: Hydra’s Nest book?
A unique & thrilling African ambiance not familiar to many!
Lying gracefully between the Vaal River in the north and the Orange River in the south, the rolling grassland and fields of crops rising to a lovely sandstone mountain, is Milner Court, Bloemfontein, a suburb nestled in the middle of Free State, South Africa.The Adventures of Jewel Cardwell: Hydra’s Nest magically transports its readers from the rolling hills of Bloemfontein to the beautiful farmlands of Bela-bela South Africa. It is a fantasy-based coming of age story of a rebellious 17 year old teenager who (through no fault of her own) is thrust into an environment ridden with unfamiliar and unsavory demonic activities when admitted into a prep school in South Africa.
As Jewel Cardwell is relentlessly being trailed by an unapologetic family curse, she races against time to find answers before the curse wipes out all of her loved ones.
In the midst of this demonic war, she becomes entangled in a love triangle between a young rugged-looking Darwin Morton who she grew up with on Milner Court and the very wealthy and popular high school soccer team leader with the silver spoon in his mouth, Eric Broder.  TRAILER:  http://youtu.be/AZTSaChQ77E
Portions of the proceeds made this holiday season will be funding scholarships and the Proposed Youth Center.
Book Description:
What would you do if you found out you inherited an ancient familial curse?
When free-spirited and more than a little rebellious, seventeen-year-old Jewel Cardwell gained admission to Grayton Preparatory School, a prestigious, girls-only, top-notch private institution nestled in the South African farmlands of Limpopo, little did she know it would begin a trail of mysterious and unfamiliar events, changing her life forever! At Grayton prep, a battle line is drawn between ‘good and evil’ especially when there’s a full moon and dark forces swirl and  turn up in the form of hideous monsters and frightening demons. With her school fre-nemies, rivalry and treachery become the order of the day and Jewel is forced to question everything she thought she knew as she struggles to stay alive in a dubious place riddled with demonic activity!
 Armed with a magical secret from her dying grandmother, a golden locket, she sets a new course in motion. In the middle of this whirlwind of events, she is caught between two boys: Darwin Morton, a lad she's known growing up, and Eric Broder, a soccer team leader with a silver spoon in his mouth. Why her love life has to get interesting now is a question she can't answer!
“I welcomed death with open arms, closed my eyes and listened as the aircraft made rattling and shaking sounds through the dreary weather. If this was my time to go, I would embrace darkness, as I had nothing else to lose.” -- JEWEL CARDWELL
Will Jewel be able to solve the mystery before evil is unleashed against those she loves?
About the Author:
Fumi Hancock is a walking example of how an ordinary person from a shackled life of broken promises and shattered dreams can live a fulfilled destiny. After twenty years of dropping her pen, she picks it right back up again by releasing the first in the Grimmlyn SeriesThe Adventures of Jewel Cardwell: Hydra’s Nest.
Though graduated with a postgraduate degree in communication arts, and undergraduate degrees in English studies and nursing, she ascribes her writing to her life experiences, which were many times challenging. According to her, the protagonists and antagonists in her novels often come from the darkest moments of her life—a tribute to the fact that something good can come out of mysterious and difficult circumstances, if we choose to turn our challenges around. Age is merely a number where success is concerned. She also pulls some of her characters from her travels around the world—in particular, exotic Africa—uniquely weaving her tales.
Fumi loves to write for young adults, particularly urban fantasy, and paranormal fiction with a touch of romance. She aspires to one day write a mystery/detective novel for the adult audience. But for now, she is content with her young adult audience. With her background in nursing, she gently nurses her unusual characters to life for her readers to enjoy.
She lives in Tennessee with her husband, Dr. David Hancock, and her two grown sons, Bola and Demola Thompson. She cherishes her two stepdaughters, who reside in Michigan.
Guest blog Giveaway with E Van Lowe
I woke up early this morning.  It wasn’t planned.  I didn’t go to bed thinking I needed to be up and seated at my computer by 5:30 a.m.  And yet, at 5:30, there I was.
I’d had that Christmas morning feeling all through the night.  You know the one, butterflies dancing in your belly so hard you can’t wait to get out of bed.  It was because this morning was Cyber Monday morning; and no, I’m not a huge cyber shopper.  Cyber Monday also happens to be the first day of my current blog tour.  This blog tour is special for me.  A year ago I couldn’t have foreseen that the first two books in the Falling Angels Saga would wind up on the ebook Best Seller list.  Boyfriend From Hell and Earth Angel both wound up in the top 10 of children’s ebooks on Amazon last March.  In a sense that changed my life.  The books were optioned by Hollywood, stayed on the list for months, and I actually made some money from them.
So here we are with the third book in the series, Heaven Sent, coming out on December 15th.  I want this current book to be an awesome journey for my readers, and yes, I’d like it to do as well as its predecessors.  It would be great if this book made it onto the Best Seller list, but more importantly, I want my readers to love it.  LOVE it! All year I wrote, sweating it out onto the page, and now, in a sense, I’m sweating it out until the verdict from my fans is in.  It’s a good sweat.  Like I said, I woke up with that Christmas morning feeling and not a feeling of dread.  I think people are going to love it.
I just hope I don’t wake up early again tomorrow morning.  It’s a long way to the fifteenth.  And a growing boy needs his rest  ;-)
Where My Tats At? Guest blog By Avery Flynn
Where My Tats At?By Avery Flynn
OK, I’m old. Not like old, old but old enough to remember when getting a tattoo was an act of bad-assery on par with a night in jail. At least in my family it was. So you can imagine that the first thing I did when I went off to college was to get a tattoo. A nice, green shamrock on the hip. I followed that up with a second trip to add a trio of daisies in a circle around it.
My mother was less than amused. She rolled her eyes and told me to just wait until I saw what it looked like when I got pregnant. It hurts me to type this, but she was right. My shamrock looked like an alien octopus when I was nine months pregnant with Flynn kid No. 1. By the time Flynn kid No. 3 came around, I’d gotten over the shock.
The little shamrock has never looked the same, but I still love it and wouldn’t give it up for anything. It’s a visual reminder of where I’ve been. I only have one other tattoo, a J that looks like the first decorative letter in a fairytale. That was my celebration for retaining my sanity while the fabulous Mr. Flynn served in Iraq for a year.
I didn’t plan on tatting up Josie Winarsky, my heroine in Passion Creek which is coming out Aug. 31. A struggling painter and Vegas cocktail waitress, she is a free spirit with plenty of chutzpah, but the idea of adding tattoos didn’t occur until I came across this photo. I saw it and something clicked inside me. This girl is the short-haired version of Josie Winarsky (also, I’d kill to look that good as a blonde) .
That little detail really helped formulate a picture of Josie in my head and her character just took off after that. My favorite of Josie’s tattoos is one on her right bicep of a tiny, pink princess slaying a fire-breathing dragon. That image defines Josie’s character and the way she sees herself. So when a slimy Vegas loan shark comes after one of her family members, well, you know she isn’t about to let that one go.
So do you have any tattoos? If so, what do they say about you?
