Haunted Flint by Roxanne Rhoads and Joe Schipani - Haunted Halloween Spooktacular

Downtown Flint’s Five Most Haunted Locations
Home to ancient Native American battle sites and burial grounds, the Sit Down Strike of 1936-37, unsolved murders, economic depression, social injustice, and a water crisis - Flint’s unholy brew of energy has led to macabre tales of ghostly encounters and stories of demonic possession. Is there something sinister lurking in Flint’s history to blame for all the hauntings? Do the souls of Flint’s murdered linger, craving justice by haunting the land until they get their vengeance? Whatever the reason, Flint is filled with frightful sites and terrifying tales.
From ghostly graveyard apparitions in Glenwood and Sunset Hills to spooky specters spotted in downtown Flint’s Capital Theatre and The Whiting, Flint is filled with ghosts.
Here are downtown Flint’s Five Most Haunted Locations.
Stockton Center at Spring Grove
The Stockton Center at Spring Grove is a haunting example of Italianate architecture. The house first belonged to Colonel Thomas Baylis Whitmarsh Stockton and his family before becoming a hospital and then a nursing home. Considered to be Flint's most haunted location countless ghostly encounters have occurred in this building. Some believe the Stockton Family still reside in the home, Colonel Stockton himself watching over it for eternity.
The Masonic Temple
Officially dedicated in 1911, the Flint Masonic Temple is located in the heart of downtown. Shadowy figures, strange noises and the distant haunting sound of organ music fill this old building. Many who have worked in the building have experienced strange encounters and ghostly apparitions.
Whaley House
The Whaley House started life in 1859 as an Italianate but Robert Whaley hired an architect to transform it into a Victorian. In 1885 the Whaley family moved into the newly remodeled home. Levitating tarps, moving toys, ringing bells, curtains blowing with no wind, and shadowy figures fill this haunted mansion. In the basement, you may feel an unearthly chill and a sense of being watched.
The Capitol Theatre
The Capitol first opened its doors at 140 E 2nd St on January 19, 1928. Rumors of hauntings have swirled about The Capitol Theatre for decades. Strange knocking sounds, disembodied singing, shadowy figures…The Capitol’s recent renovations returned the building to its original glory. Did this calm the restless spirits or make them more active?
The Cornwall Building
Construction began on the house in the early 1870s by Royal Ripley who lived on premised from 1874 to 1881. In 1881 Er Milner purchased the home and completed construction on it in 1883. The ghost of Jennie Milner Cornwall is said to haunt the premises. Sometimes you can see her looking out the window.

Book Description:
A WOLF WHO HAS SPENT HIS LIFE IN THE SHADOWS OF HIS PAST…
Beta werewolf—and ex–bounty hunter—Shadow knew when his Alpha commanded—er, “politely growled”—for him to attend the werewolf summit, that it was going to royally suck. Not only does he not want to fool around with all that royal werewolf bullshit, but he also knows he’s not exactly everybody’s favorite guy. Considering he ruined a lot of those werewolves’ lives in his old profession, he’ll be lucky if he can survive the weekend. Not to mention his mating Fever is driving him insane—and so is the feisty Alpha female he’s Marked as his mate.
A QUEEN OF WOLVES WHOSE REIGN IS THREATENED…
Spirited Breanna Whiteclaw is barely holding it together. With an ornery Alpha named Strider out to make her—and her pack —his own, and with her pack recovering from recent attacks by an unknown enemy, she has her paws full. Attending the summit means leaving her pack in their time of need, but as a royal werewolf, she knows she has no choice. Add to that the fact that her Blood Moon is approaching, and she has yet to find a mate—until the devilishly handsome Shadow Marks her as his own.
CAN LOVE BE BORN FROM HATRED?
Shadow never intended to go through with the mating ceremony—especially with the daughter of a man he killed. But his Fever has other plans. The more he’s around her, the more he craves her touch, longs to hear her voice, and aches to claim her.
From the moment Shadow’s Mark formed on her hand, Breanna knew her mate-bond was destined for failure. The bounty hunter responsible for her father’s death is the last wolf on this earth she could ever bind herself to forever. But if she wants to remain Alpha and save her pack, she might not have a choice. As Strider closes in on her, she finds herself relying on Shadow’s quiet strength—and craving those rough hands all over her curves.

Excerpt:
Shadow felt her watching him before he saw her. His eyes followed his senses, locking onto a tall raven-haired woman with olive skin. Her eyes were slanted and deep brown, her brows thick and black, her lips full. Her features made her look like an Indian princess. Tribal tattoos of black ink covered her biceps and wrists in bands. The simplicity of her inky dress complimented the turquoise stones dangling from her ears. She was radiant. And pissed as hell as she stormed over to him. He raked his brain, trying to figure out who this woman was. “How dare you show your face here, murderer!” she screeched, getting right in his face. Anger seethed from every pore in her lovely, toned body. Not that he was looking. Eyes upward, mate.He didn’t flinch at the flung insult. He’d been called worse. Drake stepped up to stand beside him. “Breanna,” he said smoothly, ever the diplomat. “I see you’ve met my new head of security, Sh—”“I know who he is,” she spat, still glaring at him. “He’s the man who murdered my father.” Stunned silence followed the statement. It was the first time Shadow had seen Drake struck speechless. A crowd had gathered around them as people pretended to be chatting but were secretly listening to the fight. Freaking rubberneckers.Drake at last shook his head and cleared his throat. “I’m sorry, you must be mistaken.”“No,” Breanna said coldly, holding Shadow’s gaze. The burning fire in her eyes only made her more attractive. Breanna... Breanna… why couldn’t he remember who she was? “I’ll never forget the face of the man who killed Bear Whiteclaw.”Bear White… Oh fuck. This was his daughter? Shadow remembered seeing her at his trial, giving a passionate testimony that nearly had the jury ruling in favor of killing his ass. He hadn’t recognized her. She’d changed in the years since they’d met. She’d grown more into a woman. A harder, colder version of the tearful pup mourning over her father, a man who deserved to rot in hell for the crimes he’d committed against mankind and paranormals alike. Killing Bear Whiteclaw had been doing the world a favor. Instead, it had earned him the scorn of a lot of people, including the fiery female in front of him. Words of apology dried up in his mouth. How did you say you were sorry for something like that? “Miss, I—”“What? You’re sorry? Don’t you dare lie to me, you son of a bitch.” Her dainty hands formed fists, which trembled at her sides. Blood dribbled between her fingers, dripping to the floor. Her claws must have come out. He’d bet his retirement she was itching to tear his face off. She’d probably smile while doing it.A tall blond man who looked as if he could bench press a bus walked up to Breanna and whispered something in her ear. The tension eased out of her, but only slightly. She stepped up to Shadow, her lips brushing his cheek and making him shiver.“If it’s the last thing I do,” she whispered, “I’ll kill you.”In one fluid motion, she was gone. He watched her walk away, his body too wired from the heat burning through him.
A fire that had blazed to life the second her lips had caressed his skin with the threat of death.

“Lola Taylor” is a pen name created for the romances I can’t show my grandma without blushing. My favorite genre to write is romantic suspense, usually involving hot werewolves, warlocks, or any other type of paranormal creature. Keep the action hot and the romance hotter—that’s my motto! I’m a horror film junkie, I still love Halloween as an adult (seriously, I think I get more excited for it than some kids do), and what precious spare time I have is spent with my family, reading (everything from sci fi to middle grade), playing the flute, painting pretty pictures, or screwing around on Pinterest or Etsy. Hailing from the South, I currently live in the Midwest with five fur babies and my hubby.

Read an Excerpt from Possessed:
At the Ravenwood Oktoberfest, music came at Jackie from all directions—hip-hop from the roller coaster, rock from the Tilt-a-Whirl, pop from the Himalaya. Red, blue, and yellow bulbs blinked in rhythmic patterns; rides spun and jetted outward; and voices screamed and boomed over loudspeakers. The contrasting movements and sounds clashed in midair. She wanted to close her eyes and press her palms to her ears.
Relax, Jackie.
But she couldn’t.
As they walked down the main path of the carnival, surrounded by a drove of people, emotions swirled around her and she couldn’t distinguish one from the other. It was one huge cauldron of sensations churning inside her.
The camera strap tugged at her neck, and the camera bounced against her stomach. She wanted to hold the lens to her eye and shield herself, but she figured she’d trip.
Jason reached for her, like he wanted to put his arm around her shoulder. But then he hesitated. “You okay?” he asked.
She nodded and sucked in a deep breath.
Zeta waved at her from behind a group of boys in baggy pants and hoodies. “VQ,” she called. Zeta was the only person who could call Jackie VQ without making Jackie cringe. Trish was with her. The two of them looked like total freaks: Zeta in black tights, pointy-toed boots, and a red-and-black striped sweater, a fuzzy scarf tied around her neck; Trish in a black tutu over her jeans, a short, black leather jacket, and multiple ponytails sticking out all over her head.
Nearing the two, Jackie stumbled and grabbed Zeta’s arm for support. Stung by raw emotion, Jackie pulled her hand away like she’d touched a hot burner. Zeta was pure electric, switching on and off sporadically and so fast that she was neither happy nor sad, but energetically sassy. Trish was usually cool to the touch, her predominant mood: melancholy. Her mind was like a snowy TV station, the images faint and ghostly.
People stared at the four of them. Though, usually, not many people ever recognized Jackie with her makeup and black hair—not many people outside of school, that is. She no longer had to worry about them tugging on her or touching her. She only had to worry about what she touched and where she stood.
Every time Trish started to walk in front of Jackie to get close to Jason, Jackie stepped up her pace and casually blocked her. When Trish bumped into her, Jackie was stung by Trish’s anger and unquenched desire.
“Let’s go on the Ferris wheel,” Zeta said. “Maybe we’ll get stuck on top.”
“Not me,” Jackie said. “I’ll probably barf. I’m just getting used to being here.”
“I’m hungry,” Jason said.
“Chow sounds good.” Trish caught Jackie off guard. She crossed in front of Jackie and squeezed next to Jason.
Jason’s eyes widened in terror. He moved behind Jackie and to the other side so that Jackie was in the middle again.
Before anyone could make another move, a woman, with red hair wrapped loosely in a cornflower blue scarf, stepped in front of them and locked her boney hands around Jackie’s.
“What the…” Jackie tried to slip her hands free, but the woman tightened her grip.
The woman was tiny, yet overpowering. Her face was narrow and fox-like. “I know who you are,” she whispered.
Jackie knew who the stranger was too, and she couldn’t pull away. It was like a magnetic force had bound their hands together.
The woman’s beady eyes looked straight into Jackie’s. “Interesting.”
What was weird was, Jackie couldn’t read her, but she knew the woman was reading her.
Zeta shoved the woman’s shoulder. “Leave her alone, you psycho.”
The woman’s eyes darted toward Zeta, allowing Jackie to yank her hands free.
Jason and Trish gathered on each side of Zeta. The three of them glared at the intruder like guard dogs.
The woman smiled, as if satisfied that she had gotten what she wanted. She walked away and sat down at a table in front of a tent with a sign that read, “Psychic Reading $20.”

Shades of Red Books 2 and 3 by T.L. Christianson - Haunted Halloween Spooktacular

My Top 10 Halloween MoviesT.L. Christianson – author of the Shades of Red novels
Halloween is my most favorite holiday! There are so many reasons why I love it! The air has become crisp and clean, with a scent of leaves and rain. There’s a bustle of hurry as all the fields begin their final harvest for the year, and a sense of celebration is in the air. Besides, I have a huge sweet tooth and what better way to celebrate eating some candy and the change of seasons than with a movie? Here are my top 10 films, enjoy!

10 - Buffy The Vampire Slayer (1992)This is such a classic vampire movie. Buffy’s scrunchie, bunchy socks, and big bangs will take you back to the ’90s. Buffy deals with all the stereotypical “girl” problems like boys and periods, but manages to kick butt and look good while doing it. Even though it’s been eclipsed by the Buffy TV series with Sarah Michelle Gellar, this movie is still a fantastic flick and will forever feel like Halloween to me.

9 - Ghostbusters (1984)Nothing says spooky and Halloween like this original film. Ghostbusters is such a classic that it’s been duplicated, imitated but never replicated. It’s fun and scary, and I just love the entire storyline. If you haven’t seen this movie, stream it tonight!

7 - Scooby Doo (2002)Alright, this movie is kind of a guilty pleasure for me. It shouldn’t be good, it should be terrible, but for some reason I love it. As a Nancy Drew fan and a definite old school Scooby Doo fan, this movie just struck a sweet spot for me. For Halloween, this is a go-to film.

6 - The Village (2004)Yas Queen…The Village. I love the entire premise of this movie. While it has some big names like Sigourney Weaver, I don’t think it’s that well known. I love The Village because the story has such a surprising reveal midway through, flipping the entire paradigm the original plot is built on. This scary story has a ring of plausibility for me, and that’s why it’s on my Halloween top 10 list.

5 - Practical Magic (1998)This falls into the classic witch tale catagory. Two spinsters raising little girls, a curse and best of all the most fantastic house ever! This house has its own cult following. I mean part of watching this movie is to see this house…am I right? Also, with heavy hitters like Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, Practical Magic makes magic feel practically real.

4 – Zombieland (2009)Ah man, what’s not to love? This is a super fun, modern zombie flick. There’s a nerd, a pretty girl, zombies, and Bill Murry. If you haven’t seen this little-known film, go check it out!

3 – The Craft (1996)This movie seemed dangerous and forbidden to me as a youth, but I love this film for the sheer believability of it. If four teenagers had magic, how would they use or misuse their power and what would the consequences be? I’d think kind of like this.

3 – Lost Boys (1987)“Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never Die. It’s fun to be a vampire.”I think the Lost Boys were the first sexy vampires—I mean they were scary and total hoods, but this movie is funny, frightening and hot as hell.

2 - Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (2001)This is the first movie of the Harry Potter series, which has been wholly capitalized on in the last 18 years it’s been out. From Diagon Alley being recreated in the swamps of Florida to actual grown adults running around with sticks between their legs to imitate Quidditch (a game on flying broom sticks to those of you living under a rock.) Nevertheless, I will always love this book and movie because of the sheer enchantment, hope, and wonder it evokes. It’s genuinely one of my all-time favorite movies, but I save it to watch during October to add to that sense of amazement and change we feel during this time of year.

1 – Goonies (1985)This uber classic movie not only reminds me of Fall and Halloween, but of my childhood and a more innocent time. Everything about this film screams nostalgia for me and for that reason, it’s my ultra-all-time fall favorite. There are bad guys, bullies and romance all wrapped up in an HEA. Goonies never say die!

Read an Excerpt:

The al-mi’raj is a Middle Eastern beast that looks like a very large yellow rabbit with a long black horn growing from its head. Sometimes called simply a-mi’raj, they are said to kill and eat horses, and are very deadly to humans. They are featured in Islamic poetry and said to live on a mysterious island somewhere in the Indian Ocean.
Highly skilled traveling witches were the only ones able to destroy these creatures and prevent them from returning to an area. In fact, it’s likely that these “highly skilled traveling witches” actually spread rumors of these creatures so they could use their “skills” to exterminate them— for a price. They didn’t have to stretch the truth too far, though, because the al-mi’raj was possibly based on real life “attack bunnies”.
There are a few diseases that afflict rabbits, causing lumpy growths or making their fur matt up painfully, appearing like horns, or like bumps where a horn fell off. These rabbits are often driven mad with pain from their twisted and matted fur, which can make them unusually aggressive. While it’s doubtful that a rabbit could kill a horse, even if it was mad with pain, certainly a rabbit that was acting insane and rushing at people would cause some real alarm— perhaps enough to start the myth of a monstrous horned rabbit.
Horned rabbits have been translated into modern use by a number of fantasy writers and game companies. They are featured in video games and role-playing game books, both as monsters and as humorous creatures, called “horned rabbits” or “bunnycorns” or “unibunnies”.

Character Interview - Pictures of Dorianna by Catherine Stine #doriangrayretelling #genderswapdoriangray

Interview with the villain in Pictures of Doriannaby Catherine Stine
What’s your name?
Wilson Warren
How old are you?
Laughs.Hundreds of years old. I’m the Prince of Darkness.
Interviewer, under his breath: “Heh. Sure you are.”
You sure are tall!
Yup. I’m 6’ 8”. The better to intimidate!
Fave outfit?
My black cape, combat boots and my spooky doll necklace.
What’s your occupation?
I was a senior in high school. But since I moved out of the folks’ place and into my uncle’s apartment in Coney Island while he’s…um… overseas, I have to work. I sell my photos to Getty Images; you know squeaky-clean athletic types playing beach volleyball in skimpy outfits. Chuckles. I’m also a videographer. I do supernatural compilations. I did one of Dorianna.
Who is Dorianna?
She wandered onto the Coney beach and right into my net. She was plain and shy. She longed to be made beautiful, popular and freed from mean girls at her school who were torturing her. I said I could do all of that and more—make her a viral social media star… for a price.
What price?
For her soul. Plus, there’s always a price. Dark magic is unpredictable. Each time it’s a little different.
Tell me about the first one, and the price she paid:
The first, in 1437, was a raven-haired minstrel girl near Canterbury. Her vow helped her overthrow her abusive master and take control of the show. A female minstrel was unheard of back then. She flourished, causing quite a stir and enhancing her musical performances with perfect pitch and mesmerizing jigs. So much so, that she lined the floorboards of her carriage with gold noble coins. Wilson pauses, then resumes in a low voice. She became so famous that her jealous old master snuck up on her and performed his own lethal magic with a rusty dagger.
That’s severe! Have you ever fallen in love with one of your… clients?
. Both times it presented problems. I was involved with a circus conjurer, who set king cobras on me when I snuck into her caravan for kisses. And there was a blond painter from Rasputin’s court. With her miraculous strength, she heaved me into the frozen Moscow River after I criticized her portrait of another lover.
Are you in love with Dorianna?
Wilson glares at the interviewer. That’s none of your business.

Book Description:
Internet followers, beauty, power. It all sounded good.
Until it transformed into a terrifying reality she couldn’t stop.
When her father is jailed, her mother ships lonely, plain Dorianna to her aunt’s in Brooklyn, NY. There, Dorianna yearns to build a new identity, but the popular Lacey bullies her—mostly for getting attention from her ex, Ander.
Ander takes Dorianna to Coney Island where Wilson, a videographer, creates a stunning compilation of her. She dreams of being an online sensation, as she’s never even had a birthday party, and vows she’d give anything to go viral. Wilson claims he’s the Prince of Darkness and offers her the beauty and fame, even love she’s dreamed of—warning her that a pledge has its downsides. Dorianna has no idea of how dire those consequences might be.
She’s thrust into the spotlight, and an incomprehensible nightmare. Not only is she prettier, she’s gaining harmful powers of manipulation. When her dark forces grow beyond anything she can control, she’s desperate but clueless as to how to stop them.

Excerpt:
Wilson taps impatiently on the keypad. “You want beauty and youth forever, Dorianna? I can give you that. Power over those mean girls; over a lot of people? It’s yours for a price. Just say it.” His eyes are golden and black and red all at once, like unearthly spears, piercing through me. I’m dizzy. I need fresh air now. But I want this promise more than anything. Ever. “What’s the price?” I rasp. Wilson’s stare burns into me. “Can’t say exactly. But there always is.” His words are ice and fire. Flutters of snowflakes pattering silently under my skin that melt into scorching sparks. I follow an irrepressible urge to stand up, and look down on Wilson with his narrow, feral face and piercings. I need Ander to look at me with that passion. I need those hater girls put in their place. I need a friend, and for people to want to be with me all of the time, to never be bored. Only to love me. It’s worth any price. A powerful force in me breaks loose, as if a flu bug is racing rampant down my spine. “Would you… give your soul?” Wilson’s whisper invades my gut, my brain. Ander’s aching gaze from our time at the beach shimmers in front of me. Enticing. I can almost feel his kiss. Like water. Drink it in. I’ve never wanted anything as much as I want this. “I’d give anything for power, easy youth and beauty.” My voice comes from all around me, spreading, gluey on my skin. “Yes, I’d even give my… soul.” The air spirals into a funnel, draining all oxygen from the room with a hiss. So, so, soul. In an instant, new air swoops in, suffused with rich, delicious minerals. I gulp it in, openmouthed, so very thirsty. “To be seen and accepted,” I murmur. Wilson goes head to head with me. “Forget about just being accepted. How about having a following of millions, going viral?” “Really?” I’m whirling. “Going viral.” Wilson’s promises are golden brands, anointing me, conferring an otherworldly legitimacy I’ve never, ever felt. How does he manage to do this? Ander returns with the brownies. I luxuriate in the sexy new glint he’s giving me. “Something feels different in here,” he notes. “It’s colder.” He puts the brownies down. Who needs sweets when he’s looking at me like this? Is this vow a real thing? Is it already working? An unfamiliar power in me swells with precarious danger and weight as I study Ander and Wilson. Abruptly, I’m flung out of my body, inexplicably looking down on them as pitiful peons who will someday worship at my feet. As two of the very, very many. Then, I’m back inside myself stunned by how I was seeing them. The room seems to rush with the force of souls washing through, and I flinch when I hear them moaning. I tell myself it’s only the whir, whir of the hard drives.

Kendra Spark Series by S Peters-Davis - Haunted Halloween Spooktacular

All Hallows’ Eve Silent NightBy S. Peters-Davis “I gotta make a quick trip to the restroom. Can I use the flashlight?” I asked, glancing at Rory as he tilted his head. “Oops.” We’d made a pact not to talk, experience the night of stargazing with each other in silence.Rory handed me the flashlight. “Remember, no talking when you come out. Sasha?”“Got it.” I nodded, grabbed the flashlight, and then rushed into the dimly lit park restroom. Rory and I had come to the Haggerset Lake Park for the last four years to stargaze on Halloween night, ever since we’d graduated high school. We loved our creep-night, the one night we dropped whatever we were doing and wherever we were to come back to each other on this one night.A rustle outside, like something heavy falling on the ground, startled me. I hurried with my business and ran out to check on Rory. He stood waiting for me. I slid the light beam his way, and he smiled, pointing toward the ground.I didn’t say a word at the blanket and cooler strewn over the dewy grass, assuming he’d tripped over something. We both picked up the stuff and headed down the hill away from the tree line to the beach by the lake. The perfect place to lay for an open view of the star-ridden sky.We spread the blanket and sat. I dropped the flashlight on the blanket, and then pulled the wine and glasses from the cooler. Rory grabbed my hand so I looked at him. He shook his head. I set the bottle next to me, thinking we’d open it later. He stretched out on the blanket and patted the spot next to him. The moon cast enough light to see his shadowed face and body. I bent down, knees on the blanket, and then flipped to my backside, sliding close to him. His hand found mine and our fingers intertwined.A spike of electricity charged through me, like what always happened when Rory touched me. I missed him during the long months we’d attended separate colleges, and this would be our last semester apart. His breath sucked in as he pointed upward. A falling star streaked across the sky.I gasped, but remained silent as per our pact. An owl hooted in a tree on top of the hill. Crickets set a rhythm, adding to the croaking bull frogs all around us. I adored the sounds and smells of the night, just like Rory had admitted the first time we’d done this.He squeezed my fingers, raised my hand to his warm moist lips, and kissed my palm. His tongue slithered up and down my wrist, making me giggle. Then his lips attached to my skin and he sucked. My whole insides melted and fluttered at the same time. I panted, wanting more. His body flipped over mine, his moist lips kissing, nipping, and sucking over my neck. Every cell in my body responded, zinging sparks spiked through my veins. His tongue slathered my skin. My eyelids closed on automatic.“Sasha!” Rory? His voice came from on top of the hill.I opened my eyes wide and pushed against the body on top of me. He sat on top of me and covered my mouth with his hand, his other hand held both of mine above my head. The skin on his face shimmered and blurred. He leaned over me, close to my face. A thin forked tongue slithered from his mouth, licking my face.“Sasha, are you there?” Rory shouted again from a distance.I bucked, but to no avail. The thing’s skin turned to scales, his eyes…glowed amber, their pupils narrowed into slits like a snake. Fins grew along his forearms.I fought, hard, struggling to free a hand and bucking to throw him off. My hand came free and I reached for the wine bottle.Footfalls pounded down the hill, the monster glanced up. I wrapped my fingers around the neck of the wine bottle and swung. The monster’s head snapped sideways and his body fell from on top of me.Rory stood over us. “My gods, what the hell is that thing? It attacked me and I woke up in the middle of the woods, afraid of what that thing had done to you.” He gave me a hand up. A rancid odor burst through the air and the creature’s body sizzled, like brats on a grill. We stepped back as it turned into bright embers and then dust. Rory pulled me into his arms as the night breeze carried the smoky particles over the water.“That thing looked just like you. It licked me.” I yanked the bottom of my T-shirt up to wipe my face and neck.“You couldn’t tell that thing wasn’t me?”“It never kissed me on the lips.” And I couldn’t help but wonder what it had planned on doing with me. “What do you think its end game was with me?”Rory took a knee and extracted a small box from his shirt pocket. “Not this.” He turned so the moonlight shone on the box and then flipped it open. A diamond sparkled. His gaze melded into mine as he asked, “Sasha, monster-slayer of All Hallow’s Eve, will you marry me?” He grinned, and then added, “Before some scary creature sweeps you off your feet?”

About this Book:
I'll never feel completely safe being home alone after I saw a shadow man for the first time.
About this Series:
This is not just a horror novel or a true life story, it's also a game. I wanted to write out my real life supernatural experiences, but I also wanted to remain anonymous, so I disguise my identity by writing two fake stories along with every real story I tell.
It's your job to figure out which story is true and which ones are fake.

Excerpt:
There are some people who attract darkness. It doesn’t mean they are dark people themselves, it’s just the hand life has dealt them. People like us feel a kinship when we first meet each other because no one else can understand what we have seen.
Many times, people like us were vulnerable in some way. I had parents who weren’t very protective of me growing up, for example, which left me exposed to certain people I otherwise wouldn’t be exposed to. A lot of us are also quite sensitive. We pick up on supernatural things that other people aren’t able to.
I never realized how truly strange my experiences were until I decided to share one of my stories on a website and it wound up being read and commented on many times.
It’s therapeutic to get these things off my chest. But I didn’t want anyone to figure out that any of it was me. I wanted to remain anonymous, because stories like these are controversial, and a pen name didn’t seem like it would be enough.
I decided to write out my stories one by one, but add two fictional stories of similar themes along with each story. That way no one could tell for sure which of these things had actually happened to me and which of these things hadn’t. Without that information, it’s difficult to trace the stories back to me.
It doesn’t matter if you believe me or not, just know that two of these stories are fake and one is real. It’s up to you to decide which is which.
