South Korea Landmark Ruling on Gay Sex, Cultural Appropriation: Don't Dip Your Pen In Someone Else's Blood, Ryan Field Books
South Korea Landmark Ruling on Gay Sex
This is big news for gay men in South Korea who are in the military. The Supreme Court of SK recently ruled against the military's age-old ban on gay consensual sex away from a military setting. Then they struck down guilty verdicts for two gay men who had been charged with having sex off their base.
The two accused men, a first lieutenant and a master sergeant, were indicted on charges of breaking the military code after they were found to have had sex in a...

Are You Appropriating or Appreciating Queer Culture?
Are You Appropriating or Appreciating Queer Culture?
A very good gay male author friend of mine has been dealing with the attack of straight women writing gay fiction simply because he said he doesn't believe that straight women can capture the authenticity of gay culture the same way gay men can do it. And I agree with him. It's offensive to read and it can't be done. As a non-black writer, I'm smart enough to know I can't capture the black experience. So I don't write about it.
Unfortunately, ...

An Awful Gay TV Series, Helix Studios Presents, Streaming On Prime by a Women Writing Gay Content, Heidi Moore
An Awful Gay TV Series, "Helix Studios Presents," Streaming On Prime by a Women Writing Gay Content, Heidi Moore
We've been watching this TV series about gay men on Prime called Helix Studios Presents and Tony lost patience with it last night. It's so bad he actually begged me to turn it off. It is the most inauthentic piece of gay content I have ever seen. It says on IMDb the writing credits go to Heidi Moore.
In addition to directing, Heidi writes and edits at Helix Studios; a queer entertainm...

Growing Up Gay in Alabama in the 70s, Ryan Field Books
Growing Up Gay in Alabama in the 70s
This is a good opinion piece about what it was like growing up gay in the 1970s. Life was very different back then for gay men. But the author believes it’s more difficult today for all LGBTQ kids for various reasons. He makes a few good points.
It saddens me to realize that as a young gay man in the late 70′s, I probably got a more affirming education than LGBTQ students in Alabama may get today.
Here’s more Alabama also has its own version of a don’t say gay...

A Gay Friendly Town Deals with Homophobic Protesters with Pizza Boxes, Ryan Field Books
A Gay-Friendly Town Deals with Homophobic Protesters with Pizza Boxes
This happened in Guerneville, California. A group of anti-gay protesters set up shop on Main Street and they started to drive the town wild with screaming and shouting and obnoxious behavior. So a group of local citizens decided to counter-protest.
As the anti-gay protesters harassed people in town, they were met by this group called the Pizza Box Brigade.
The Brigade is made up of 30 or so locals who organized via group text ...

Gay Porn Star Is Arrested For Taking Part In the Insurrection, Donny Trump Jr's Weird Rant on Don't Say Gay Bill, Ryan Field Books
Gay Porn Star Is Arrested For Taking Part In the Insurrection
Well, here we go with something different. A gay porn star, Steven Miles, who uses the oh so clever stage name Sergeant Miles, was allegedly one of the Trump supporters who stormed the Capital. He's from Florida and they just arrested him on April 12th.
This is from court documents:
“Meanwhile, other rioters, including Miles, continued to smash the window on the other side of the Senate Wing Door. Miles smashed a plank of wood into the ...

Anti-Gay MAGA Type Terrorizes Gay Dads and their Kids on a Train, Ryan Field Books
Anti-Gay MAGA type Terrorizes Gay Dads and their Kids on a Train
This is scary because it can happen to any gay parents, it can happen anywhere, and these anti-gay MAGA types are all over the place. Many of whom are straight women.
In this particular case, it was two gay men taking a short business trip from LA to Oakland, CA, one of whom works for the LGBTQIA publication, The Advocate. They also had their two beautiful, innocent children along with them. This really is brutal for a small child....

Openly Gay David Millbern's Film About Gay Historic Photos, Molly Shannon Talks about Discovering Her Dad was Gay Before He Died, Ryan Field Books
Openly Gay David Millbern's Film About Gay Historic Photos
I find it important to mention that award-winning producer, David Millbern, is openly gay. There are usually straight people taking over our gay content in books and in films...like that dreadful Jane Campion in The Power of the Dog...and it's nice to see one of our own doing gay content for a change.
David Millbern did another film titled, A Long Road to Freedom, that targeted the last 50 years of gay history. And this time he's doing a...
Don't Say Gay in China Either: Fantastic Beasts 3 Has Removed All Gay References for China, Ryan Field Books
Don't Say Gay in China Either: Fantastic Beasts 3 Has Removed All Gay References for China
First of all, I wouldn't support anything even remotely associated with transphobic JK Rowling, and Rowling did work on Fantastic Beasts and it does act as a prequel to the Harry Potter books. With that said, part of the film has been censored in China removing all gay references. Warner Brothers thinks the spirit of the film remains intact. Well, sure it does...for straights. What do they care?
“As a studi...

Reactions to Disney's Don't Say Gay Mistake and Disney CEO Bob Chapek, Ryan Field Books
Reactions to Disney's Don't Say Gay Mistake and Disney CEO Bob Chapek
Disney has been almost overly proactive in making their dislike for the don't say gay bill known far and wide. They've been supportive of the LGBTQIA community and highly vocal about how much they do NOT support the don't say gay bill. One of the Disney heirs who is a trans person actually came out against the bill. But that's not how it was in the beginning, and people haven't forgotten.
When we first started to hear about Fl...
