Backward GOP Senators Want TV Ratings Board to Post Warnings for 'Disturbing' LGBTQIA Content, Ryan Field Books
Backward GOP Senators Want TV Ratings Board to Post Warnings for 'Disturbing' LGBTQIA Content
When they say 'disturning' I'm sure they mean ALL LGBTQIA content. Even the most G-rated LGBTQIA content. These fools truly believe that anything LGBTQIA is for adults only.
This reminds me of the early days of TV when Lucy and Desi were forced to sleep in twin beds because of TV censors. And this kind of thing continued all through the 1950s and part of the 60s with TV shows. Finally, we got to see Arch...

A Minnesota High School Hosts an Inclusive Gay-Straight Prom For Students, Ryan Field Books
A Minnesota High School Hosts an Inclusive Gay-Straight Prom For Students
When I went to my prom I did what most/all closeted gay high school boys did. I took a girl and pretended to have fun. We...gay people...actually become very good at that kind of pretending at young ages. It wasn't the worst thing in the world. But it wasn't the same experience the straight kids had in my school. For them, prom night was a nice, sweet memory. For me, it was going through the motions. If I'd been able to go ...

Reality TV Show In Russia Hosted by Right-Wing Politician Called "I'm Not Gay," Ryan Field Books
Reality TV Show In Russia Hosted by Right-Wing Politician Called "I'm Not Gay,"
As Russia continues to discriminate against gay people, taking away their rights, and ruining their lives, there's now a TV reality show that mocks them. This is why my heart goes out to every single gay person in Russia. Or anyone who falls under the LGBTQIA umbrella.
"I'm Not Gay" pits eight contestants against one another in a series of games centered around masculine stereotypes and homophobic humor, to determine w...

An Actor From that Awful "Heartstopper" Series Wants to be a Disney Prince, Tennesee Governor Bans Transgender Athletes From Sports, Ryan Field Books
An Actor From That Awful "Heartstopper" Series Wants to be a Disney Prince
It's no secret that I'm not fond of the TV series Heartstopper. I don't even like the title. It's cheesy. It reminds me of every inaccurate, shmaltzy M/M Romance book I've seen from straight women authors who tell their stories from a hetero POV.
But two things really bother me about that series. First, it's written by an asexual woman not a gay man. Second, I don't see as many gay men protesting it. And they should be. ...

Lawmakers In Louisiana Kill Don't Say Gay Bill, Gay History Made: First Openly Gay White House Press Secretary, Ryan Field Gay Author
Lawmakers In Louisiana Kill Don't Say Gay Bill
This is good news to read. At least we're not being kicked everywhere in the world. There was a bill similar to the don't say gay bill in Florida in the state of Louisiana and it was recently knocked down.
However, it was a 7-4 vote, which means there were still some who wanted the bill to pass. It's so sad to read these things nowadays. We should all know better. This is one of the quotes from a highly ill-informed reverend who wanted the bill to p...

I'm Not Too Excited about Neil Patrick Harris's New Series, Joy Behar Wants to Go on a Sex Strike, Gay Pride Flag Burned In New Jersey Again,
I'm Not Too Excited about Neil Patrick Harris's New Series
Neil Patrick Harris has a new TV series titled, "Uncoupled," and I don't think I'll be watching it. As a gay man I'm sick of TV shows that are compared to Sex in the City and Modern Family. SATC treated gay men as if they were pet poodles and MF ran from gay culture and treated gay men as if they all can't wait to just jump in and join the heteronormative world. And for many gay men, nothing could be further from the truth. I never wanted...

Justin Hartley's Naked Scene in "Bad Moms Christmas," Transphobic Dave Chappelle Is Attacked On Stage, Ryan Field Books
Justin Hartley's Naked Scene in "Bad Moms Christmas"
I've been watching Justin Hartley on the TV show, This Is Us, for a long time now and he never fails to deliver. He's also great with his social media accounts. He keeps it real and never once do you get the impression he's putting you on. I can't say enough nice things about him.
With that said he did a film where he had to get naked. I think it went with the storyline. He plays a hot male stripper.
"The cool thing about this movie was, this gu...

How a Gay Psychiatrist Changed History in 1972: Gay Culture, Ryan Field Books
How a Gay Psychiatrist Changed History in 1972: Gay Culture
Here's one of those stories of which we never hear enough. It's classic gay history that happened 50 years ago. And it changed the world.
It's the story of a psychiatrist, Dr. John Fryer, who helped declassify "homosexual" as a mental disorder. Fryer went to a meeting with a group of other psychiatrists and wore an outrageous outfit that consisted of a Nixon mask and an oversize tuxedo.
It was 1972, and he masked himself in order to say ...

Sydney Man Who pushed Gay Man Off Cliff in 1988
Sydney Man Who pushed Gay Man Off Cliff in 1988
It’s kind of amazing that after all these years we’re reading about this. Back in 1988 a guy named Scott White pushed a gay man off a cliff and it’s being treated as a hate crime.
“I pushed a bloke. He went over the edge," White said in recorded police interview in 2020 that was played in court.
Here’s more. The coroner said that gangs of men would wait in this location just to target gay men.
I don’t seem to recall straight white women being target...

The Aromantic Asexual, Alice Oseman, Appropriates Gay Culture with Netflix's, "Heartstopper," Should Matt Bomer Have Played a Trans Character in "Anything"? Ryan Field Books
The Aromantic Asexual, Alice Oseman, Appropriates Gay Culture with Netflix's Gay, Heartstopper
If Alice Oseman wrote about aromantic asexuals I would definitely read it. I would be curious, and that's because I wouldn't write about aromantic asexuals because I wouldn't want to appropriate their culture. That, indeed, would be wrong of me. I could do it. I just wouldn't want to be that person who appropriates.
HOWEVER, I will NOT be watching Alice Oseman's "Heartstopper," because it appropriates ...
