Governor of Utah Doesn't Like Condom Images; Indonesia Rights Group Slams Gay Raids After Rape Case; Ryan Field Books

Governor of Utah Doesn't Like Condom Images

According to this article, a condom campaign in Utah has been halted because the governor doesn't like the images on the package. Apparently, he thinks there's too much sexual innuendo.

“The Governor understands the importance of the Utah Department of Health conducting a campaign to educate Utahns about HIV prevention.“He does not, however, approve the use of sexual innuendo as part of a taxpayer-funded campaign.”You can check the rest out here. It's...

What Straight Critics Miss About " AJ and the Queen" and "A Starr is Born" by Ryan Field, Hey, Pete Buttigieg Is a Minority, Too, Ryan Field Books

What Straight Critics Miss About "AJ and the Queen" and "A Star is Born" by Ryan Field

I've seen a few mixed reviews for RuPaul's new Netflix series, AJ and the Queen, and frankly I'm a little surprised by some of them. I don't think the straight reviewers know about or understand this aspect of gay culture.

With that said, my short review for AJ and the Queen is that I love it, I don't want straight people telling me what's wrong with it, and I think the show is doing exactly what it set out...

Pete Buttigieg Talks About Extremes

If you like to win, and if you know anything about the silent majority and the swing voter, I think what Buttigieg said makes perfect sense. We see people all the time on social media who go to political extremes on the left and on the right and they always seem to be the loudest and most obnoxious. Everyone who's considered part of the silent majority simply ignores these extremes... because they despise extremes and they don't express their political...

Fox News Host Questions Whether Pete Buttigieg Is Gay

I know this entire article and this TV show host sound obtuse, however, I do think there are people out there who would believe him. Many people in the US have been taught to believe, through television, films, and the media, that gay people are all like Will and his Grace or those two older guys on that dismal Grace and Frankie. Unfortunately for gay men, many people don't really know any better. Even our so-called allies don't know...

Loving RuPaul's Netflix Series "AJ and the Queen"; Gay People Living In a World of Straight Romance, Ryan Field Books

Loving RuPaul's Netflix Series "AJ and the Queen"

We started watching RuPaul's new series on Netflix, AJ and the Queen, last night and we liked it. It's an old trope, the story line isn't absolutely thrilling, the cliches are there, but it's very well done and that makes a huge difference. Actually, very well done indeed.

The acting is excellent, the costumes are interesting, the settings seem accurate, and it really does depict a good deal of  real life drag culture. At least from what...

Gay Guys Describe Their Quickie Sex Hook Ups

I think this is one of the things that separates gay men from straight men, and also gay men from all women. I know there are exceptions to the rules all the time and everyone is different, however, this is part of gay culture that many straight men and women will never understand. I think the reason is because it's always so discreet no one ever talks about it aloud. It's really not something you would tell other people. So if you're a straight...

Bad "Gaysian" Stereotypes We Hate To Hear, Actor DJ Qualls Comes Out As Gay, Ryan Field Books

Bad "Gaysian" Stereotypes We Hate To Hear

Here's an article written by a gay Asian man who talks about his experiences in America, including the lack of representation and diversity from TV, movies, books, and the mainstream media. And whenever he did see something with which he might be able to identify, it was usually a tired stereotype.

Growing up, I never saw any Asians on television or in advertisements, let alone LGBTQ Asians. Over the years, Asians that entered mainstream media were...

Masculinity and Queer Life Explored In Photo Exhibition

Kendle's Fire by [Field, Ryan] One of the things I've tried to focus on with my novels is masculinity, gay life, and how all this comes together through art and literature, and even real life. I really went all out with this topic in Kendle's Fire, especially with respect to the main character. A reader left this review on Amazon, which actually surprised me. I worked hard to get this book right.

This is GREAT story!! It's wonderful in its exploration of sexuality and...

Judge Wants Jussie Smollett's E-mails and Data

Here's a follow up on the Jussie Smollett case. At this point, I just want to read about facts and I don't want to judge him myself. I've seen too much of that happen and I don't think it's a wise thing to do.

A judge has signed a search warrant demanding Google hand over emails, private messages and location data belonging to actor and singer Jussie Smollett.

Here's a link to more. If you're not familiar with the case, they have all the back story...

Jake Gyllenhaal Plays Gay Face, Again, John Barrowman Is Brought to Tears Watching Two Gay Men Skate, Gay Characters In Netflix's "Dracula" Series, Ryan Field Books

Jake Gyllenhaal Plays Gay Face, Again

Years after playing a gay character, in a gay film that was based on a book by a straight author,  straight actor Gyllenhaal is doing it all over again...because he can. In those days, before gay marriage was legal, very few gay authors or actors were even recognized.

This time Gyllenhaal is playing the father of cartoonist, Alison Bechdel. I guess because they couldn't find one single openly gay middle aged actor in Hollywood who could do this.

As much...
