I Am Blogging Today

I wrote a blog post about how much fun it is to be a genre fiction writer in this day and age of niche market publishing, so for all of you who have been thinking, Hmmm. What I really want is a Big Beautiful Woman who falls in love with a marmoset shapeshifter-vampire-special-ops guy this is your time to Pah-Tay. I'm also treating that blog like a suggestion box, so head on over there because I'm taking requests. You can read that HERE.

After My Big Fat Release Month in June I'm back to work, bus

Chatting Today

antho_bb_500x750

I'll be chatting today at Realms of Love with fellow Aspen Mountain Press Author Jefferson Dane. The chat is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, which is 6:00 here on the West Coast.

Jefferson Dane is a Spec fiction writer with a really intriguing book out called  Phlogiston, and I will of course be discussing Because of the Brave and The Long Way Home, my two Aspen Mountain Press Releases. This would be a great time to lobby for Kevin's Veterinarian friend James Wexler to have his ver

I Got a Terrific Review!

Thanks to Wave at Reviews by Jessewave for a terrific 4.75 stars for Notturno. She wrote a wonderful, in-depth review that indicated to me that she really understood where I was trying to go with this one. It's hard to find your way into a genre that is as beloved as the vampire paranormal niche and it feels virtually impossible to say anything in a new or fresh way. So it was a wonderful thing to see that she enjoyed it as much as she did.

She said this:

ZAM_BlueFire_coverlg**Cover Art by Anne Cain**

Fire cost Jared Kenny his home and all his memories of the man he'd loved for over half his life.  But it also brought firefighter Adam Collins and the purest blue eyes Jared had ever seen.

Despite the best efforts of his department, Adam and Jared had to watch while Jared's house burned to the ground. Something about the man touched Adam and made him want to follow up and protect him. Later, when the tw

Terrific Review for Physical Therapy

ZM_PhysicalTherapy_coverlg

Thanks to Sabella for her review of Physical Therapy at Joyfully Reviewed.

JR-RR-2

She gave it the lovely Recommended Read badge, and in it she says:

As expected Z.A. Maxfield presents a clear emotional picture of Jordan and Ken without getting lost in the sadness of their past, yet she pushes all the right buttons to make you feel part of the story.  Get yourself St. Nacho's 2: Physical Therapy the next time you are looking for a sexy emotional story with great characters, plot, and the miracle of love.

One Year Later

Click here to view the embedded video.

It's Bastille Day! I can't believe it, just last July 14th I stormed the Bastille with my first ever published work, Crossing Borders and here I am a year later with 7 published novels, two anthologies and a short story. That's a Cinderella tale of epic proportions. I want to thank all the readers who made the last year a success for me and all the editors, cover artists, and publishers that managed to make me look good.

What's next? Every day is a new beginn

Review for Notturno

Notturno Quartersize 133 dpiI got a very nice review from the Literary Nymphs for the novel Notturno, which was recently released in print and ebook formats from MLR Press. Mystical Nymph gave me 4.5 stars and was kind enough to say:

I've never met a Z.A. Maxfield story I didn't like and this intriguing, complex and well-written book isn't any different. To my knowledge, this is the first book where the talented author has delved into the paranormal, and I'm happy to say with Notturno, she didn't disappoint.

You can read the

New Reviews

ePistols I got terrific reviews for both ePistols at Dawn and Notturno from Lydia at Rainbow Reviews. Of ePistols, she said:

While a very intense story, Ms. Maxfield has balanced it out nicely with occasional touches of humor. This book, which touches on topics relevant today, should not be missed.

And you can read the rest of the review HERE.

To purchase ePistols At Dawn in ebook format go HERE.

And of Notturno, she said:

As Z.A. Maxfield spins this intriguing, slightly dark story the reader will not be ab
