Loving yourself is the best weapon against bullying

Bullying creates deep emotional wounds on its victim, making the recipient feel vulnerable and demoralized. When you are bullied, you can easily suffer intense pain because you are being treated unjustly. This aggression is suffered by a third of the children and adolescents throughout the world, so it is necessary for us to teach our young how to counteract bullying efficiently. The quickest and easiest way to do this is to teach our children how to love themselves — to show them how unique and special they are. When we do this, we build their self-esteem, which is the only remedy to combat bullying.
Bullying exists. That’s a fact. And not just with children. Sometimes even adults suffer in their work environment. But children are affected the most. Children live bullying in their own flesh, on some occasions as victims, in others as aggressors, or perhaps witnesses to the harassment. For a child, an insult or negative word can be as dangerous as a blow to the head.
The evidence is obvious. In 2001, a Japanese doctor, Masaru Emoto, conducted an experiment that confirmed that vibrations are transmitted by air and water. But not only this, Emoto discovered that water crystals changed their aesthetic appearance according to the type of music they were exposed to, positive or negative thoughts, and emotionally charged words, like “I love you” or “I hate you.” Over 70% of our body is water, so imagine how much it can influence us.Some of Dr. Masaru Emoto’s many experiments on water can be found on YouTube.
Emoto’s findings clearly show that every living being is influenced in many ways, for the positive or negative. In fact, even plants and animals can change their mood depending on the beings around them. This confirms the power of our thoughts.
Sometimes teenagers don’t think about the harm that a word can cause to their peers. IKEA did an entire experiment showing the power of thoughts and words on a group of school children. They even showed how it’s possible to kill a plant if we say negative things to it. I share the link of this video campaign so that we may all better understand the magnitude of aggression.Check it out here.
It’s essential for us to understand that the aggressor is not happy being an aggressor. It is a demonstration of his or her own insecurity and low self-esteem. When the aggressor is aware of this and decides to love and accept himself as he is, he can rectify the error. An “apology,” “forgiveness” or “sorry” is so powerful that it can transform and heal any previous damage. That’s why it’s so important to forgive, leave behind, and let go.
The wounds of bullying will never be removed with creams or pills. They are etched into the soul, where many will choose to stay as victims for the rest of their lives — replaying negative inner conversations, or constantly repeating the aggressor’s insults. “I’m a loser…I’m not worth anything…I’m not good enough.” These thoughts can lead to depression and, in the worst case, even suicide.
This is why it is important to teach children and adolescents not to take personally the words which their aggressors shout. They must understand that these aggressors are not well, nor are they superior to them. We must help our children connect with their unique talents, and help them realize that they should not compare themselves to others. Nobody needs to be perfect; we need to be ourselves — believing, trusting, accepting and loving who we are.
A child who believes in himself will learn not to resist any problem, or be afraid to face any harassment or challenge in his life. In the end, children will use a negative situation to their benefit. More than that, their experience will help other victims of bullying.
If we treat ourselves well and believe in ourselves, nothing and no one can hurt us. But, it all starts with what we think of ourselves. Remember, if you say you can, you can. Your thoughts are the key to your peace, happiness, and freedom. Don’t depend on anything or anyone outside of you to change your life.
And when you change, everything changes.

Choose to be happy at work

Almost half of our day we spend at work, and even if we love our job, career or profession, the routine or the monotony often begins to create havoc in our lives. We become overworked, stressed out and fatigued. And it’s easy to feel unhappy and bitter, with the idea that there is always something better out on the horizon.
According to the World Health Organization, 60% of workers’ unproductiveness is due to poor management of stress. And the Gallup Poll shows that only 15% of people are happy in their workplace, which makes the personal level of commitment and motivation low, thus creating dwindling productivity.
These figures are a clear sign of the importance of happiness at work, an issue that is currently a growing concern for many companies. It wasn’t always this way. It used to be if your boss saw you being unhappy; he’d just tell you to “leave and find another job.” Thankfully, this has been changing over the years. The issue of happiness has not gone unnoticed in the business world. Employees are the backbone of all organizations and, as we all know, happy employees are more motivated, more productive and more engaged.
Two workers in a company can do the same work, have the same schedule and the same working conditions, but their experience can be entirely different. If one of them is passionate about what he does, he will feel happy and the time at work will pass quickly. He’ll do his best. He may not even want to leave when it’s time to check out. On the other hand, the employee who does not like what he does, or finds no value in what he does, will begin to feel dissatisfied and eventually unhappy. For this individual, the day will always be eternal. It is also likely that he will not do as good a job, always desperately waiting for the moment he can leave.
If you feel that you are in a job that is not right for you, the first thing to do is appreciate what you already have — think of all the things you might be thankful for with your job. This will change your energy immediately. Before going out and looking for another job, you must first start by working on yourself. You must find out who you are and what you are passionate about. What would you do even if you didn’t get paid? Knowing this will help you find out what works for you — what you really want to do with your life.
Then remember to: Let go of expectations and live in the present moment.
Happiness at work starts by accepting what we presently have and letting go of expectations. Expectations only generate anxiety and frustration, which leads you to live in the future. By appreciating what we have and not what we think we should have, we will begin to see that we are in the right and perfect place. Always. Trust and live in the present moment to the fullest, and you will see how easily abundance will come into your life.
Be Thankful.
Give thanks for the small and big things that you have — both for what you like and what you don’t like. Do this and more doors will open, and more opportunities will come into your life. But, again, you must appreciate what you have instead of concentrating on what you think you lack.
Practice self-knowledge.
Start by noticing how unique you are. Be aware of your talents, strengths, limitations and flaws. Only in this way will you be able to cope with resilience and all the challenges and difficulties that arise — at work and in life.
The moment you discover your true self, let yourself be guided. Enjoy the present moment with gratitude and the universe will be your ally in effortlessly bringing you all that is good and right for your life.
Let go and trust.

Books: A tool to build peace

With just paper, pen, and a few words, we can imagine and understand a person’s dreams. Words are a window into what someone thinks and feels. Just a few simple sentences are all it takes to communicate with the world — and you can do it all without worrying about physical borders, or all those self-imposed lines we draw, which not only limit us but separate us from others.
Today, I am talking about the power of words, especially books.
Books represent one of the most beautiful inventions of the world — the ability to share and communicate ideas with another human being. Because of their power, books have become effective instruments to fight against poverty and build sustainable peace.
A child, living in the middle of a war, can find peace only by reading and imagining a story. Children can transport themselves without moving their feet to stages built by words, phrases, and verses. Art is the purest expression of freedom.
Books and reading do not discriminate either. On the contrary, books allow everyone to gather knowledge equally. Not even language barriers can prevent stories from being shared.
A few years ago, I came to understand that peace is personal work and that the primary support for doing this work would always be through reading. As I told you before, books can create stages and an atmosphere of peace in a war field. Accessing a book goes beyond a right.
With this idea, in 2003, I decided to write the first of various books based on Ho’oponopono: The Easiest Way: Resolve your issues and take the road which will lead you towards love, happiness, abundance, and the life of your dreams. Despite not being a professional writer, I embarked on this adventure anyway. I was an accountant who specialized in taxes! But my desire to share what I had discovered and what had transformed my life was very strong.
I needed to share my story about how I discovered my real identity and freedom using this “Easy Way” technique. When people would tell me that my book had changed their lives, I couldn’t believe it. How was it possible that I could change lives with my books, all without ever taking a writing course?
I always encourage my students not to wait for money or titles in order to do the things they feel in their hearts. When you do things from the heart, nothing can go wrong, even writing a book without any previous experience.
Also, despite publishing it myself, I sold the rights to publish my work in more than 15 languages, which allowed my message to reach many more people throughout the world.
Do you still have any doubts about the enormous power that books hold for each of us?
Whether it’s print or digital, thanks to all my books, I can visit places where I have never physically even been to. Through my book, my message of peace and happiness crosses borders, collapses walls, and builds foundations. This is an achievement I could never have imagined. Even today, I still get excited with every testimonial I read from someone who said that my books helped them with their life. Every day I get confirmation that this is my path.
And now I can clearly say that a world without books and creativity is a world that will never transform or bring peace. It is comforting to know that we are living in an era of information and that we are all pushing for culture, art, education, and books to have a stronger place in our society. Little by little, that peace is starting to be built; it begins in each one of our hearts.
Books are not merely a collection of millions of letters, nor are they infinite periods and commas, nor paragraphs and titles. Books are roadways to knowledge, wisdom and inspiration that form the best intangible heritage that could embrace your soul. Books are the gateway to peace. And, remember, inner peace is world peace.
In other words, start reading…and let’s all make the world a better place together.

Our chance to be reborn
The feast of Easter is a celebration for releasing all kinds of oppression and slavery — spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, and even social. It’s an opportunity for us to free ourselves once and for all, and become part of a real change. In other words, it’s our chance to be reborn!

Regardless of your religious beliefs, this week is one of the most inspiring weeks of the year. Easter and Passover — celebrated by both Christians and Jews — are synonymous with the encounters we all have with ourselves — death, rebirth, and love. It is no accident that this year also coincides with the International Day of Mother Earth. Both celebrations are an opportunity to embrace an important moment of awareness for all — the chance to change. To become reborn.
Fortunately, this change begins with attitude, which depends entirely on us.
Right now, seismic changes are happening in the world. These changes call us to reflect, to become aware, and to be part of the real transformation. It’s time to look inside ourselves and begin to walk the path of peace we are all searching for. This path of peace will open us up to all the opportunities the universe has to offer. It is change that begins in our heart, then grows with trust and surrender.
On this path, you will sometimes be caught in a vortex — where you will be a prisoner of the past and the future. It is at this moment when you must let go of what bothers you and give way to love and acceptance. Regardless of what is going on around you, every day is an opportunity to be happy in the beautiful moments and miracles that God has for us. It is also time to take responsibility and become aware of the great planet on which we live, and our role as travelers on this cosmic spaceship that transports us towards our destiny.
The Earth is a breathtaking and magnificent experience and a blessing beyond words.
As we embrace this Easter season in our own unique way, let us remember that being here and now is a privilege. We were selected for this very important moment of evolution. It is time to transcend what we call “problems” and choose to be happy and at peace.
Let us all come together as a single living organism, united in our cause to bring love and light to the world. Remember, Mother Earth feels the same way we feel. We need to take care of ourselves, and in the process, take care of Mother Earth. We are responsible for its well-being; in the same way we are responsible for our own. Fortunately, the universe has given us the power and inner light to show us the way. All we need to do is practice acceptance, unlearn, and let go of everything we were taught.
Conscious peace, along with gratitude and trust are the tools that will help us turn on the light in our hearts so that we may live a happier life — spreading the peace and love our world so desperately needs.

Are you still setting goals?
In the course of my life, obtain two titles, my own business, write several books and travel the world many times, spread my message of love, freedom and personal responsibility through Ho'oponopono and Zero Frequency®.
You might think that I am a strong-minded and goal-driven individual, but nothing could be further from the truth. The fact is, I don’t believe in goals or the mind as a pathway to helping you live the life you want to live. I do believe in knowing what your heart desires, then following that inner guidance toward your destiny. I also believe in doing the work it takes to move you toward where your heart wants to be. I couldn’t just wish a book to be written; I had to sit down and write it. The best way to follow your heart is to take action.
However, here is the great paradox—you don’t need goals to live the life you were destined to live. In fact, goals are a roadblock. In the words of the Zen master, Osho, “No enlightened person has ever been goal-oriented; he cannot be. Goal-orientation is the way of the mind.”
The alternative and spiritual way are simple: you just need to let go and live in the present moment. And I’m going to show you how in this month’s exciting new Q&A:
The problem with goals is that they all live in the future, which means you can’t have goals without living in the mind. And, outside of living in the past, there is nothing the mind loves more than dwelling on what will happen tomorrow—how rich you’ll be, the career you’ll have, the relationship that’s waiting for you. And while it can be addictive dreaming about the future, the more time you spend there, the more likely it is that the mind will start to create all kinds of problems—anxiety, anguish, and fear. The future (your goals) keeps you in a constant state of becoming, striving and reaching.
The enlightened person lives in the state of no-mind. In this state, there is no past or future, which means there are no goals and nothing to be achieved. No reaching. No becoming. There is only the present moment, which is the source of our true power and the only compass we’ll ever need to get where we want to go.
I don’t know about you, but this is the only place where I want to live.
I hope you’ll join me and see for yourself how beautiful it can be.
Love,
