On this day in leadership history, June 18th
On this day in 1977 in leadership history, Space Shuttle test model “Enterprise” carries a crew aloft for 1st time; it was fixed to a modified Boeing 747. It would be 4 years later before the official Space Shuttle takes off in 1981.
What’s the leadership lesson? Whether it’s small wins or big wins as you fulfill your vision, keep each step the time that they need. This takes insight and discipline.

Article Recommendation – “Era of Barra: 4 Lessons from the GM Chief’s Tenure So Far”
Great leadership insight from Dale Buss @ Chief Executive in his article – “Era of Barra: 4 Lessons from the GM Chief’s Tenure So Far“ on the topics of courageous leadership and accountability.
The GM ignition switch issue is one she took on the whole company for passing the buck and not being responsible. There was a lack of accountability and taking it on has helped the company move in a direction that strengthens its values of accountability in many ways that may not be so obvious.
Keep reading on the Chief Executive website and please share your insights in this post – thank you

On this day in leadership history, June 11th
On this day in leadership history in 1987, Margaret Thatcher is 1st British Prime Minister in 160 years to win a third consecutive term.
What’s the leadership lesson? As a leader, make sure that you’re winning for the right reason. Fame, glory, or a desire to win fade over time. Character and honor is a better legacy.
