What a pain in the Lash

For the past couple of months my eyes have been driving me nuts. This is nothing new...I've actually landed myself in the ER by rubbing my eye too hard. (Ten years ago...don't judge.)

But finally I deemed my current eye agony unbearable and went to an ophthalmologist. He found a couple of fine eyelashes growing inward, which he plucked out, and he prescribed a very spendy bottle of eyedrops. He says he doesn't think the lashes were the main problem...but I'm thinking they might have been. The eye felt better right away.

Hopefully after the swelling goes down they can fix me up with some glasses to help my see my computer better.

Curious about the making of an audiobook?

Now in Audio: Body & Soul

Having read all seven books in the series—not to mention all the shorts in between—I feel confident in saying the series just keeps getting better with each installment, and my unfettered joy at hearing Gomez Pugh bring Vic and Jacob to life is probably, on a scale of one to ten, approximately an eleven. - Lisa, The Novel Approach

What goes into making an audio?

I've got two fantastic stops today on my "Check out PsyCop audio" blog tour!

First, I chatted with Gomez Pugh about what it was like to voice the audios on Love Bytes Reviews.

Then I revealed the actual pitch I used to connect with voice artists for the production of the series on It's About the Book.

Come say hi!

Talking about Audio this week!

amongthelivingAUDIO200Some folks have never tried to an audiobook, while some of us listen to audios all the time. I'm in the second category--I've been listening to audiobooks for fifteen years. But my head's still spinning over the fact that now some of my stories are available in audio.

Today at The Novel Approach, I answer the question, Did you always want to get into audiobooks?

Also, Lisa from TNA reviewed the audio versions of Among the Living and Criss Cross! If you've never tried an audiobook, you'll especially want to see Lisa's comments, as she lost her audio virginity to Gomez Pugh...wow, that sounded dirtier than it did in my head :D

And finally, the 20%-off coupon I'm running on JCP Books will be good through tomorrow morning, when I take down my buy buttons and replace them with links to third party vendors. Save big until then with the code WITHABANG

The Nose Knows

Me: Wow, what a great magic marker!

My Nose: Nope. Can't use it. Too stinky.

Me: But...it writes so well.

My Nose: Tough. Find a different one.

Me: *grumbles* you used to like marker fumes.

Tasty menage

On my way home from the gym, I drove a few miles between a potato chip truck and a library system delivery truck. Now that's a tasty ride.

A heart-warming PsyCop flash fic

I’m the last guy in the world who cares about sports, whether we’re talking about the Cubs, Sox, Bulls or Bears, or for that matter anything even remotely athletic. So I was a little surprised when Jacob suggested that we take a trip downtown to go ice skating. But nowhere near as surprised as he was when I told him I thought it was a great idea....

You've probably read the PsyCop flash fic Thaw before. But have you heard it?

Find out how to get your free Audio copy of Thaw in this month's JCP News!
