Most people play by the rules. Gavin and Liz aren't most people…
Win at any cost. That's always been the mantra of sports agent Liz Darnell. When she carries things too far and risks losing her number-one client, baseball pro Gavin Riley, Liz realizes that she'll have to work extra innings to win him back. It might not be too much of a stretch. She's had a thing for this player's moves since she first laid on eyes on him, and by the looks of it, he wants her just as bad.
Gavin's more than ready—especially when Liz is offering herself as part of the bargain. And as much of her as Gavin wants. For added thrills, he decides to throw a little curve ball Liz's way to see just how far she's truly willing to go to keep him as a client. But when love unexpectedly enters the playing field, neither Liz nor Gavin are ready for the biggest game-changer of them all.

Today I'm At
Today I'm at the Closetreader blog. Lea did an extensive interview with me about the Wild Riders series. She asked probing, hard-hitting questions about every book in the Wild Riders series, so if you want to know some in depth info about each book in the series, head on over there. It was a tough interview–made me sweat! [image error]
Honestly, it was a lot of fun going back over each book in the series. Made me fall in love with the characters all over again.
I'm also doing a giveaway there, so I hope you take a minute and read the interview. Lea is awesome.

Banned Books, Intolerance & A Contest
Because this is Banned Books Week, and because a young student at Rutgers college lost his life this week because of intolerance, I'm going to do a book giveaway.
And Tango Makes Three is a lovely book about a charming male penguin couple who desire to have a chick, and how a zookeeper helps this happen. It's a beautiful book that teaches family isn't always traditional.
I'm going to give away five copies of this book because And Tango Makes Three was one of the top 10 requested Banned Books in 2009, and because we need to be teaching our children tolerance in a world that's still too filled with hate and bigotry.
Leave any comment you'd like. Tell me your favorite banned book, or any book you've read lately.
I'll choose the five winners on Monday so be sure to come back on Monday to see if you've won. Winners will have 7 days to claim their prize or I'll draw for new winners.
Banned Books Week, from September 25 to October 2 is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read and remembering the rights under our First Amendment. It reminds us all about how harmful censorship is in any form, but especially in the form of that we as writers and readers take so seriously. All books, no matter what the content, should be available to be read.
No one should decide for us what should be available to be read.
And no one should persecute others because of who they love. My deepest sympathies go out to the family of Rutgers student Tyler Clementi.
You can read more about Banned Books Weeks here which includes all the links to all the awesome organizations who sponsor it.

The Perfect Play Cover - Redux
Berkley redid my cover to The Perfect Play and added the series title and changed me to New York Times Bestselling author, which, seeing that on a book of mine for the very first time, admittedly made me a little weepy.
And really, y'all are going to get tired of seeing this cover aren't you? No? Okay. [image error]
I should be getting galleys for this book soon, which means it's almost finished, which means I'll have an excerpt up soon. And ARCs! Wheee!

Apple Owns Us
So…
We bought an iPad this weekend. When they first came out, I thought they were nothing more than a giant iTouch, and since Biker Dude already has one of those, I figured, eh. No need for one.
Yeah. So much for that. I have mad love for this thing. I read almost exclusively digitally now, mainly on my iPhone, which is plenty comfortable me, but I took the iPad to bed with me Saturday night. I had been reading a book on my Kindle app on the iPhone, opened the Kindle app on the iPad and it...

Books Update
Busy this week getting caught up and juggling. Always juggling.
But thought I'd give you an update on my upcoming books.
I finished edits on ALL SHE WANTS FOR CHRISTMAS, my holiday novella release for Carina Press. ALL SHE WANTS FOR CHRISTMAS will release on December 6th, so mark your calendars. It's a contemporary romance (not erotic) and I'm very excited about the story. I'll post an excerpt as soon as I get a finalized copy. I have seen the back cover copy and it's pretty awesome, so I'll s...

It's Football Season!!
It's football season, people!
I love me some football. Here at casa Burton, we love us some college football, and we fly the flag of the Oklahoma Sooners (OU) proudly. We wear the red Sooner jerseys on Saturdays and we don't miss a game. Just fyi, the Sooners are 3-0 so far for the season.
Since Oklahoma doesn't have a professional football team, we tend to follow where our Sooners go. So we've been following running back Adrian Peterson who now plays for the Minnesota Vikings, and this year S...
