Lauren Dane's INSIDE OUT

INSIDE OUT releases today!

I love this series by Lauren Dane. Hot and sexy and so real, with complex, gripping characters that hold onto you and don't let go. It's about the Brown family, and if you haven't read the earlier books and you enjoy contemporary erotic romance, you'll love this series and I highly recommend you also read LAID BARE AND COMING UNDONE. Lauren Dane is one of the best writers of contemporary erotic romance today.

(Is that cover not awesome? Tattoos make me a little weak in the knees)

WORTH THE WAIT

Ella Tipton is a survivor. In the wake of an attack that left her nearly dead, she's spent each day putting her life back together. Once vibrant and outgoing, she's needed to reclaim the best parts of who she was while retaining the hard won lessons. There hasn't been room for any romantic entanglements, even if she were ready. Still, it didn't mean she had to stop sneaking looks at Mister Tall, Dark and Tattooed himself.

Security professional Andrew Copeland isn't quite sure when his jones for the lovely and decidedly skittish Ella developed. He's known her for years, has watched her triumph over the pain she'd been dealt. Cope is no stranger to women, but he knows the nervous flush he gets every time he talks to her is different than any attraction he's had in the past. Determined to get Ella to let him in, Andy does the one thing he can think of to get close: he offers her hands-on training in self-defense.

While Ella's sure he's just being nice, the prospect of being able to touch him and gain the tools to push away the last vestiges of her fear is more than she can resist. Soon enough, Cope shows Ella his feelings are far more than friendly and re-ignites something deep inside her. Before long desire and love turn them both inside out.

You can read more about INSIDE OUT, including excerpt and buy links, here at Lauren's site.

Shannon Stacey's UNDENIABLY YOURS

Awesome book releasing today, people.

Shannon Stacey's UNDENIABLY YOURS, available at Carina Press today!

One-night stand + two percent condom failure rate = happily ever after?

Bar owner Kevin Kowalski is used to women throwing their phone numbers at him, but lately he's more interested in finding a woman to settle down with. A woman like Beth Hansen. If only their first meeting hadn't gone so badly…

Beth's tending bar at a wedding when she comes face to face with a tuxedo-clad man she never thought she'd see again. She tries to keep her distance from Kevin but, by last call, she can't say no to his too-blue eyes or the invitation back to his room. Then she slips out before breakfast without leaving a note and, despite their precautions, pregnant.

Kevin quickly warms to the idea of being a dad and to seeing where things go with Beth. After all, he's not the player she thinks he is. But she's not ready for a relationship and, given his reputation, it's going to take a lot to convince her to go on a second date with the father of her child…

I loved this book. Loved it. It was fun and romantic and emotional and kept me turning the pages until I got to the end. It was everything I loved about a contemporary romance.

You can buy it here at Carina Press. Also, if you haven't read EXCLUSIVELY YOURS, the first book in Shannon's series about the wickedly fun Kowaslki family, Carina Press has it on sale for .99 during the month of November, so head on over to buy it!

Giveaway - Nalini Singh's Play of Passion

It's no secret that I've sung the praises of Nalini Singh's Psy/Changeling series here on my blog before. I love this series. It's on my top 5 list of all time favorites. The books are smart, sexy, and riveting, with dangerous men, fiercely intelligent women, and nonstop action.

PLAY OF PASSION is the newest installment in the series and releases on November 2nd. Nalini was kind enough to give me an advance peek of this book, and it was an amazing read. Fast paced, hot and sexy, and deeply emotional. Drew and Indigo were awesome characters and I loved them. Nalini is a champion at pulling you into the page and refusing to let you go.

I'm going to give away a copy of PLAY OF PASSION here on the blog.

In his position as tracker for the SnowDancer pack, it's up to Drew Kincaid to rein in rogue changelings who have lost control of their animal halves—even if it means killing those who have gone too far. But nothing in his life has prepared him for the battle he must now wage to win the heart of a woman who makes his body ignite…and who threatens to enslave his wolf.

Lieutenant Indigo Riviere doesn't easily allow skin privileges, especially of the sensual kind—and the last person she expects to find herself craving is the most wickedly playful male in the den. Everything she knows tells her to pull back before the flames burn them both to ash…but she hasn't counted on Drew's will.

Now, two of SnowDancer's most stubborn wolves find themselves playing a hot, sexy game even as lethal danger stalks the very place they call home…

You can read an excerpt of PLAY OF PASSION here

To be entered to win a copy of PLAY OF PASSION, tell me what your favorite read, or reads, have been so far this year. You must have a valid email address to be eligible to win so I can contact you.

I'll draw a winner on Monday, November 1st. Contest is open internationally. Good luck!

Back Cover Copy for All She Wants For Christmas!

Finally got back cover copy for ALL SHE WANTS FOR CHRISTMAS, my upcoming ebook which releases in just about 6 weeks from Carina Press! So excited!

Big Star, Small-town Christmas

Country singer Riley Jensen would never have returned to her small Missouri hometown if her publicist hadn't come up with the scheme to tape a Christmas special there. So she never would have known that the man who broke her heart at eighteen—causing her to flee to Nashville—was now a widower with a seven-year-old daughter. Riley has ten years of angst-filled hit songs and Grammy awards to prove she doesn't need Ethan Kent. But suddenly, she can't help thinking of all she gave up by running away…

Ethan Kent knew Riley had the talent and the drive to make it as a singer. He also knew she wasn't going anywhere if she stayed in their nowhere town for him. Then one night and one huge mistake sent her running on the road to fame. Which doesn't mean he ever stopped loving her…

But with so much separating them, can Riley and Ethan find their way back together one magical country Christmas?

To read an excerpt, go here

And you can see the entire contemporary holiday collection at Novel Thoughts blog. They're all so pretty together!

The Cave–And Fall!

Sorry my blogging has been sporadic lately. Racing to the finish line of THE HEART OF A KILLER and readying it to turn it into my editor. The book is finished so I'm prettying it up (which means editing the hell out of it). It's due November 1st so I'm buried deep in the back of the cave, only resurfacing to shower every few days. (Just kidding about that part–mostly)

But hey, we did head down to southern Oklahoma yesterday to take the Talimena scenic drive. Hit some fog at the top of the Ouachita Mountains, which kind of sucked, but saw some beautiful fall foliage along the way and managed to get a clear shot at least in one spot. Yes, Oklahoma does have mountains and not just cows and pasture.

So I'll share a few pretty pictures, and back to the cave for me!

Oh, The Horror

I stayed up way late this weekend watching too many movies. Watched The Last Samurai again last night, not because I have mad love for Tom Cruise (I don't) but because I think Ken Watanabe is brilliant in that movie.

But what I really want to talk about is the remake of the Halloween movies.

They suck. The original Halloween I and II? Can't miss them and watch them every October. We watched the remake of Halloween II on Saturday night. What a waste of good sleep time that was. Lots of screamingscreeching for no good reason. How many nightmares was that chick going to have anyway? I turned it off 3/4 of the way though because it got on my nerves. Awful, horrible film. I need Halloween I and II with Jamie Lee Curtis pronto to cleanse my palate of that dreadful film.

I'm typically not a big fan of horror movies, and by that I mean I don't like them at all. I hate them. I avoid them. They scare me. But the original Halloween movies? Love them. Go figure.

Though the SAW movies aren't too bad. They're more psychological than hey, let's see how much blood and gore we can shove at you in 90 minutes, or how we can terrorize the characters and cut body parts off in interesting ways. Oh wait..maybe the SAW movies are like that. I don't know, somehow they don't scare me. If the movie doesn't scare me I'm okay.

Halloween I and II don't scare me. Probably because I've seen them 9362 times, so I know what's coming. [image error]

Biker Dude loves horror movies. I'm sure he's very disappointed that I don't watch them. I suppose he could watch them and I could shove earbuds in, listen to some soothing music and work on the laptop. That might work, as long as I'm not tempted to peek at the carnage on the tv.

What about you? Do you like horror movies? If you do, which movies are you favorites? If not, why? Do they the beejebus out of you like they do me?

It's Christmas! (Covers, that is)

I just got my cover art for ALL SHE WANTS FOR CHRISTMAS, my contemporary romance holiday novella that will release on December 6th from Carina Press. And what's really awesome about this book release is that it will be available on its own and also in a collection with contemporary novellas from authors Shannon Stacey, Lauren Dane and Megan Hart. So you can choose whether you want to buy individual novellas or the collection, so I'm also posting the anthology cover, too. (Back cover copy for ALL SHE WANTS FOR CHRISTMAS coming soon!)

You can also check out the covers at Shannon Stacey's blog and Lauren Dane's blog . I don't think Megan Hart has her cover yet. I think Carina Press has done a beautiful job on these covers.

What do you think?
