Thrown By A Curve ARC Giveaway!
Hey, guess what’s releasing in March?
She thinks she knows this player—but he has a few surprise moves.
For Alicia Riley, her job as a sports therapist for the St. Louis Rivers baseball team is a home run—until she becomes the primary therapist for star pitcher, Garrett Scott. Out of the lineup with an injury, he’s short-tempered, hard to handle, and every solid inch, a man.
Right now, the only demand he’s making on Alicia is that she get him ready to pitch in time for opening day. Except the sexual chemistry between them is so charged, Alicia’s tempted to oblige Garrett just about anything. But both their careers are at stake—one bad move and it’s game over for both of them.
Garrett also feels the hot sparks between them, and the way he figures it, what better therapy is there than sex? Now all he has to do is convince the woman with the power to make the call.
I have five print ARCs to give away here on my blog. To be entered to win, tell me what books you’re looking forward to reading this year. Please note: I’ll choose winners on Wednesday morning, so be sure to come back here to my blog to see if you’ve won. I’m really busy and on deadline right now, so I don’t have time to track everyone down. Once I announce the winners, I’ll let them know how to contact me, and they’ll have a certain amount of time to get that done. If I don’t hear from the winners, I’ll draw for new winners.

Book Freebie!
One of my earlier books, Paradise Awakening, the first book in my Passion in Paradise series, is free for the next two weeks!
Paradise Awakening
Book One in the Passion in Paradise Series
Serena Graham is looking forward to the vacation of a lifetime—a week at Paradise Resort, a Caribbean hideaway where she’ll be able to indulge her every sexual fantasy with complete abandon and total anonymity. For the next week, she’s Sexy Siren Serena and she’ll do whatever she wants—with whomever she wants.
Michael Donovan planned a week at Paradise Resort to research his next erotic crime novel, as well as indulge in some hot sex with his fashion model girlfriend. But when he finds his now ex-girlfriend has other plans, he’s resigned to research without recreation. That is, until Serena shows up at his door claiming he’s occupying her room!
After a little negotiating, Michael and Serena become roommates, and Serena boldly asks Michael to be her lover for the week. How can he pass up the opportunity to mix a little pleasure with business? But despite their vow to keep their relationship strictly physical, they find much more than passion in paradise.

Today I’m At…and New Book News!
Today i’m at the Romancing The Jock blog, talking about my love of football, of course, because ’tis the season. There are pictures. Come visit me! Here’s the link.
I hinted in my end of the year post that I’d have some news about another book coming up this year, and now I can tell you about it.
I’m going to do a Play by Play holiday novella this year! It’ll be a digital novella, and will focus on the Riley family getting together for the holidays. I’m so excited to write it and to give you all another Play by Play book late this year. This book will be filled with surprises, so stay tuned for more details.

New Year, Goals and A New Blog
Happy New Year! Yes, I’m a day late with wishes. I spent yesterday vegetating, watching football and making soup. I don’t think I even combed my hair. I hope you all enjoyed your New Years celebrations, and I wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2013.
I wanted to let you all know that I’ll be participating in a new blog. Romancing The Jock launched yesterday. It’s a blog by romance authors who love sports and the men who play them. We’ve launched with a contest featuring awesome prizes, so head on over and meet all the authors participating, and enter the launch contest for a chance to win.
Do you all make goals or resolutions for the new year? I typically try not to make resolutions, because I tend to blow them by February. But I am going to try to be more physically active this year, especially since writing requires a lot of time sitting on my butt, which isn’t healthy for me. I also need to do a lot more reading. I love my job, but it sucks up much of my time, and the main reason I became a writer was because I loved reading. I didn’t do nearly as much reading last year as I would have liked. So as far as goals, those are my two biggest. More exercise and more reading. What are yours for this year?

The Year In Review–and What’s Coming Up in 2013
I hope you all had a very happy holiday, whether you celebrated Hanukkah or Christmas or Kwanzaa, or in whatever way you celebrate. We had a good one here at the Burton household, but I’m glad it’s over. It’s back to work for me!
I always take this time of year, right before the end of the year, to reflect on what happened, bookwise, throughout the year.
This year I released two more books in the Play-by-Play series: Taking A Shot and Playing to Win. Both books hit the USA Today and New York Times Bestseller lists. Thank you!
I also released The Ties That Bind, the first digital novella release from one of my previous print anthologies. More of those will be coming up next year.
This month, The Best Thing released, which was the final novella in my Kent Brothers series. I’m sad to see this series end as it was such a fun series to write. The Best Thing made the New York Times bestseller list, and I’m so grateful to all of you for embracing this book as you did.
Anyone who thinks writing books is easy should think again. It’s not. It’s tough, and with every book it gets tougher. What makes it worth it is all of you who email me, or post on Twitter and Facebook and here on my blog to talk about my books and my characters. I’m so grateful to all of you for writing and telling me you love my books, or even when you don’t love them so much. Without you, I wouldn’t be able to do what I love so much. Thank you for that, for all your wonderful comments about my books and my characters. You always make me smile.
Starting out 2013 will be the digital novella release of No Strings Attached, which was previously available in the Laced With Desire anthology.
Coming up next year will be two more Play by Play books. In March will be Thrown By A Curve, which will be Alicia Riley’s story, and her hot hot hero, Garrett Scott, followed by One Sweet Ride in June, where you’ll meet Gray Preston, the first of my new group of sports guys. I really think you’ll love these men.
In April will (hopefully!) be the release of Nautier and Wilder, the second anthology I’ve done with awesome author Lora Leigh. This anthology will include my final Wild Riders book, introducing a new Wild Riders hero. I’m very excited about this book!
Releasing in May is Wild Nights, the novella from the no longer in print anthology, Exclusive. Wild Nights features Mike Nottingham, who appeared in the Wild, Wicked and Wanton anthology.
In July I’ll be introducing Hope Flames, my new small town contemporary romance series in the Hot Summer Nights anthology along with novellas from Carly Phillips, Erin McCarthy and Jessica Clare. Hope Smolders, the first Hope single title, will be released in September.
In November, Carina Press will release the Holiday Kisses anthology in print, which includes A Rare Gift, one of my Kent Brothers novellas.
You can find out more about my upcoming books on my Coming Soon page.
Whew! That’s a lot of books releasing next year. And, I hope to have one more surprise coming up next year, and I’ll fill you in soon about that.
Thank you again for being a part of my life and my world of books. Wishing you all a happy and prosperous New Year!

Holiday Giveaway!
Happy 12/12/12! It looks so odd seeing that date. We’ll never see it again, either.
So I’ve been swamped with work the past two months, and I’ve finally dragged myself out from under what have been some spectacular deadlines. I turned in a finished book, edited one, did copyedits on another and galleys for yet another. Couple that with Thanksgiving and the Christmas holiday madness, and I’m wrecked, y’all. But yesterday I turned in my final book of the crush, and I’m free of deadlines, at least for a little bit. Yay! And hey, that means new books coming for y’all next year. Now all I have to do is find my house under all the clutter and dustbunnies. I know I left it here somewhere…
Since the holidays are approaching, I wanted to give back to all of you who have given so generously to me this year. I’ve had a remarkable year, and I can’t thank you all enough for supporting me and my books.
I’m going to give away a $25, $50 and $100 gift certificate to either Amazon or Barnes & Noble–winner’s choice! Just post in the comments how your holiday preparations are going, or anything you’d like about the holidays.
I’ll choose the winners on Friday!
Rules:
Must be a minimum of 18 years old to enter

Open to international entries, but keep in mind these are gift certificates to Amazon & B&N.
Good luck!

Nikki Duncan’s Her Miracle Man
Please welcome author Nikki Duncan to the blog today! She has a new book out this week, so check it out!
~~~~
Dear Santa
It’s normal as children to write letters to Santa. Meme, my youngest, writes a few every December as she updates her wish list or needs to explain her naughtiness to Santa. Of course she apologizes to him, which I think is hysterical.
Thinking of her, of the conviction behind her wishes, I thought I’d write my own Dear Santa letter.
Dear Santa,
I’ve been a good girl this year, so I want new clothes, new shoes, a Bluetooth, tv trays, a new laptop, and lots and lots of food. Mostly, I want everyone to feel the power of love and know with certainty that it will always live on. I want everyone to discover the miracle of their own ultimate gift.
I’ll always believe.
Nikki
P.S. I started to ask for a bigger closet so I could buy more shoes.
If you were to write to Santa, what do you think you would ask for?
Her Miracle Man is now available from Samhain Publishing. Here’s the blurb:
Children’s hospital administrator Ryland Davids was attracted to event planner Jennalyn James the moment he saw her. He thought there would be plenty of time to get to know her—until her younger sister, Sabrina, was admitted with complications from traumatic brain injury.
Sabrina’s bright courage broke through Ryland’s wall of professional distance, but once she drew her last breath, Jennalyn left the hospital and never returned. Though he understands her need for distance, there’s a hole in his heart that won’t heal. And a last wish from Sabrina he’s honor-bound to deliver.
When Jennalyn comes face to face with Ryland at a charity event, the pain comes rushing back, threatening to shatter her everything’s-fine façade. It doesn’t help that the lump in her throat is mostly her heart, leaping in response to his touch.
Despite her reluctance to return to the scene of her grief, she fulfills Sabrina’s final request to plan a series of Christmas events for the kids. Over the course of A Month of Miracles, Ryland and Jennalyn discover there’s the light of hope at the end of grief’s dark tunnel. But it may not be enough to heal her broken heart.
What’s being said:
“Without a doubt, Her Miracle Man is unlike any romance novel you’ve ever read. This isn’t a book; it’s a journey through life, death, grief, and learning to live again. It is not lighthearted, it is not sappy, but it’s original, touching, and you will be forever changed by the unwavering determination of one little girl by the name of Sabrina.” Slick, Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews
The Best Thing Releases!
It’s release day for THE BEST THING, the third and final story in my Kent Brothers trilogy! I couldn’t be more excited that Brody and Tori’s story is finally out in the wild!
A year ago, Tori let her guard down and Brody Kent slipped right in, planting one hot, unforgettable kiss on her in a dark corner at the company Christmas party. Though the kiss surpassed her wildest dreams, she can’t let it happen again. She loves Brody, but he’s got a reputation for loving and leaving. She’ll have to keep her heart—and her libido—in check.
Brody can’t get the time of day from Tori—ever since that impulsive kiss, she’s avoided him with the same brutal efficiency she uses to manage his family’s construction company office. The company can’t afford to lose her, and Brody’s come to realize that he can’t live without her. But how can he convince Tori that he’s a changed man?
It just might take a Christmas miracle.
You can purchase THE BEST THING at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and at Carina Press, or any of your favorite online retailers.
THE BEST THING is also available as part of the contemporary holiday collection, ROMANCING THE HOLIDAY, including awesome novellas by HelenKay Dimon and Christi Barth
A memorable three-night stand gets rekindled in a cabin in West Virginia. An office romance is sparked by an impulsive holiday kiss.
