Cover Goodness

A HUGE thanks to Amanda Kelsey from Eternal Press for designing the new cover for Enemy Enchantress. I am so in love with it, and I just got the all clear to post it. WOOT! Amanda captured Aislinn and my vision for my dream cover to a tee. I heart it so much.

Brainstorming

I'm trying to get unstuck on a couple of WIPs. Everytime I think of the word brainstorming this song plays in my head:

Yes, I do have a 4 year old who absolutely adores the Imagination Movers … why do you ask? LOL! I also know I have many more years lined up since James will be a year old in a couple of months. Seriously, June 26th. Can you believe it? I certainly can't.

So I'm brainstorming, and trying to NOT think about Smitty, Scott, Rich and Dave since what I'm brainstorming definitely d...

Finished!

Well, that retreat was most successful. I didn't get to stay the whole time, I had to leave a day early but I managed to get my 1920's romance done and to novella length. I was aiming it to 15k, but I crossed the finished line at 20k. I started at 10k on Saturday morning (Friday was spent drinking and chatting), by Sunday just before Noon I typed The End.

WOOT!

Now, on to editing and layering to get it ready to sub.

All in all a very successful weekend away, and of course lots of fun with my...

Interview & FREEDOM!

I was interviewed by a new author on the block, so be sure to come to her blog and leave a comment. This is an author to watch out for too. She is very sweet.

So come visit here.

Today I am packing for my retreat this weekend with Christine d'Abo, Leah Braemel, Kimber Chin, J.K. Coi and Wylie Kinson. I missed the last one because of the baby & the kids, this time nothing is stopping me. YES! I plan to get a couple shorts finished and possibly plot out some new stuff.

I'm very stoked for the...

Looking forward

To the weekend for sure.

I'm going on a little writer's retreat with some fellow author friends. We plan to write and write and write some more, and I need the break to be honest.

We had one in the fall, but I couldn't go because the kids all came down with a cold and the baby was still quite young.

This time, I'm going. The baby will be 9 months on Saturday and since DH has left me a few times alone with the three it's his turn to watch the crawling butterball get into everything. LOL!

I have a ...

Bright Young Things

I'm not talking about that's for sure. I'm still pretty high on sinus and allergy meds, I'm talking about my new obsession with the roaring 20's England. In particular the racing circuit.

I was watching The SuperSizers Go 20's and the plot monkey's visited me. Voraciously. I took lots of notes, but it didn't appease them.

I told them a new bright and shiny is not on my plan. They didn't listen. I wrote them a synopsis on Thursday. It didn't appease them. I did more research. Finding gems like t...

Sorceress from the Sea…round 2!

I woke up in my haze of sinus infection to find out Eternal Press bought book 2 of my series!!! WOOT!

Sorceress from the Sea (which was Enchantress: The Sorceress) is coming out in September 2010. This is awesome. I am so pleased it found a home. I think with the series being in flux like it was, I found I couldn't concentrate on anything else.

Again, I am so pleased to be part of the Eternal Press family and that my series has found a home.

As the details come in I'll keep you informed. LOL!

Sign of Spring?

There is something constant in my life.

The end of winter is also followed by a sinus infection.

It hit this morning. I woke up to the sound of a bird. I don't know what kind of bird because it was twittering through the haze of pain and pounding of my first sinus infection.

I never get them when preggers. That is my only respite.

So it's back. The sun is shining, the snow is melting a bit, there was a bird chirping happily and I'm dying on the couch so drugged up. I'm cold, shivery and all I...

Sweet, but so evil.

Have I got your attention?

Good.

I was watching this AMAZING show called SuperSizers Go Restoration. If you get a chance watch them here. SuperSizers do several time periods in British Culinary history. They eat as our ancestors have eaten before them.

You might feel a bit queasy when watching. I know I did when they were doing Regency and mowing down on Stilton Cheese with maggots and Cheddar with cheese mites. Nope. I'm NOT kidding.

One thing which really intrigued me was the omelette in...
