JoNoWriMo+1.5 Sign Up Today!!! :-)

Hey friends!

Oh my gosh, I can't believe I completely forgot to let people know when to sign up! So I guess we'll start signing up TODAY! :-)

BEFORE you sign up, PLEASE READ what follows.

What is JoNoWriMo+1.5?

It's a bit like NaNoWriMo, only you get an extra 1.5 months AND you don't have to write an entire novel. Basically, it's a time each year that a bunch of writers get together to support and encourage one another to meet a writing goal and/or finish a project. You can make a daily writing ...

Friday 5

1. Holding all those affected by 9/11 in my heart today, which I suppose means the world. But especially those who lost loved ones.

2. I'm reading an incredibly powerful, brutal, beautiful book right now. Tender Morsels by Margo Lanagan. It is taking me forever to read because I keep rereading paragraphs. Keep stopping to breathe and reflect. Keep pausing before I pick up the book because I know there will be sadness. But beauty, too.

3. I want to thank Stephanie Burgis ( [info:]

THANK YOU!

Yesterday was so special thanks to everyone who left comments here and on Facebook. I was just totally overwhelmed with all the happy wishes. THANK YOU!!!!

Peter and I had a fantastic day. We ended up in Manchester, VT where we stopped in at the Northshire Bookstore and I signed some books (so happy they had some!), went out for lunch at a little diner-ish place called Sherries, and then a little bit of clothes shopping. Peter bought me a new dress to wear... no idea where. But I like it a lot...

First day of school and other celebrations :-)

Today, E finally goes back to school. He has been counting down the days for half the summer. This is a very good sign, I think. :-)

I woke up this morning to over 50 e-mails from Facebook and couldn't figure out why. Then I realized. Thanks so much for all the birthday wishes! This is my last year before I am officially "over the hill." This is very sad to me in some ways. But I don't FEEL any older so I guess that's what counts. Besides, I've heard from a number of friends that the view on...

Yay Kate and the Flying Pig Bookstore!

On Saturday, Peter, E and I drove to Burlington to help [info:] kmessner celebrate the release of her new book, The Brilliant Fall of Gianna Z.

Here's Kate at the opening of her presentation. I love how she's holding her book. :)

Kate read a wonderful passage from the book in which the two main characters are trying to identify a leaf for a school project. After her presentation, Kate challenged the kids to do the same. Here's patient [info:] cfaughnan helping E.

I met tons of really nice people after Kate's ta...

Yum. <--understatement

Overwhelmed

I miss my LJ pals.

Suddenly life just took over and there is freelance work and a very last-minute teaching job (tomorrow I start my first class!) and trying to finish my WIP and figure out how to get the boy to and from school with 2 crazy schedules and...

*sigh*

Don't you hate that feeling that you are forgetting something REALLY important? I feel like I'm forgetting many of those somethings.

I did get to spend an amazingly relaxing few days with Peter and E in Maine at [info:] tamra_wight 's wonderful...
