On a dreary day, remember the promise of spring.
It’s gray and rainy in Texas today so I decided to spring to my little art piece. I love this scripture. For those of you who feel the heaviness of a spiritual or emotional winter, remember that resurrection comes after death. God sees you, dear one. Even if your suffering makes you feel unseen.

Bye bye Debbie Downer
It’s something I struggle with, this pervasive negativity. So I assaulted it today with art. Maybe it will help you dethrone pessimism and replace that with gratitude, abundance and joy! I hope so.

Never once…
This is based on a worship song by Matt Redman. I sung it many times when I really needed to remember that Jesus walked beside me, that even though trials made me feel alone, the truth was that I never was. Sometimes it’s just important to sing the truth, don’t you think? You can […]

Behind the Scenes
Today’s Uncaged Podcast is a little unusual. Instead of me sitting behind a microphone all by my lonesome, I’m joined by Dr. Michael Brown and my co-author Frank Viola. We talk about the behind the scenes process of our latest book, The Day I Met Jesus. I pray this lively conversation blesses you!

Do you keep circling back to the same lesson?
I do. And my struggle involves trust. what about you? What lesson do you keep having to circle back to? ”It seems like God keeps bringing me back around to the same struggle–to teach me again that He can be trusted…And yet I still doubt His provision, and I have to circle back to this […]

The big and beautiful love of Jesus
Today’s Lenton art came from this realization that I feel so very small, but God’s love trumps all that. It is wild and beautiful and big. I only need to remember its surety, how it surrounds and permeates even the air I breathe. This is a truth I long to fully realize, and I […]

Stop a moment.
I forgot my fitness tracker today so when I went to the gym all those treadmill steps didn’t get counted. At least not officially. I berated myself for the oversight. But then the Lord whispered these words to me. Ahhhhhhh. So true. Besides the fact that God sees everything anyway, including unseen things, our […]

Do you know this truth?
Jesus intersects our stories and histories and loves us anyway. I’m grateful.
