Prologue: Project Last-Ditch Effort to Save Earth
Sometime in Earth’s Near Future, and yet, Time Is an Illusion

One may think of it as twilight, that soft, glowing diffused light, but that is not quite right. It is the space between nothingness and Oneness, where it appears that there is nothing except the promise of the coming day or night. That is where the Ascended Masters and Archangels of the Cosmic Council meet to discuss the destruction of Earth in the early twenty-first century.

The Divine Father, Master Melchizedek, steps toward the center of the heavenly landscape. “We know the implications of the other failures. This disaster will impede the involved souls even further. It’ll take many, many millennia for the soul scars to heal, if ever.”

From the outside circle, Archangel Mikael emerges, bowing his head, his sword by his side. His enormous white wings now folded in defeat, and his voice low. “With Gaia gone, the universe is out of balance. Earth was the Divine Feminine. This entire universe and all of its parallel existences are on a course of self-destruction.”

Archangel Metatron moves forward, sacred geometric patterns illuminating his being. He adds, “Yes, we have seen failures in thirteen parallel expressions of Earth already. All will go soon, and we are starting to see the collapse of Earth-616, the New Earth.”

Her Grace, Lady Anna, steps forward with vibrant red robes fluttering out at her feet. She looks around, seeing silhouettes of the council members. “What are we going to do about it? Do we give up on this universe and these souls? This was their chance to ascend.”

A Galactic Being of Light, a master from another universe, steps forward, “This is the fourth planetary destruction in this universe. Avyon, Avalon, Maldek, now Earth. These souls will not recover from this.”

A female voice reverberates from the outside circle. “We can’t fix this. Only humanity can.” The others step back, permitting the Divine Feminine, Master Magdalene, space. She moves slowly from the crowd; a scent of roses lingers as she passes.

A multidimensional embodiment of Magdalene is Mother Gaia. Magdalene’s every step is with pain, from echoes of losing Earth, and the failures in parallel worlds. Those near her form a ring around her. As she moves, they respond, as if an orbit pulled by Mother Gaia.

“Humanity will always destroy Earth until it awakens.” Magdalene waves a hand, and a holographic map forms around and above the group.

The Light Beings respond by falling into a large full circle, eyeing the multidimensional schematic of the moment. One can see all in the moment as it’s connected to every life, every timeline, every parallel existence, every aspect of themselves, including the Source, the most powerful Energy. In the moment, one connects to their Godself.

Standing in the center, Magdalene closes her eyes, pauses, and sets an intention. With a wave of her hand, the holographic map responds. Three specks light up in the projection, revealing a glimmer of hope.

Jesus, the Cosmic Christ, steps forward, his cascading robe illuminated with star systems. He studies the work of his beloved, Magdalene, and raises a finger toward one of the three specks. As if he has a lasso, he harnesses one bit and hurls it above their heads. Holographic cinematic images stream various tweaks to the timeline, revealing possibilities to averting Earth’s destruction.

Similarly, Jesus facilitates the second and third simulation of changes to the timeline. It is the third recreation that piques the Cosmic Council’s interest.

Mother Ray, Mother Mary steps into the inner circle, a blue cape covering her robe. “This is it!” She points to the third simulation. “This is the one point in time, and one parallel reality that offers the most opportunity to correct the course of history and avert Earth’s destruction.”

There is immediate consensus among the Masters, the inner and outer rings. One Mind. They will plant seeds throughout history. Some of them will embody and walk among humanity before the great cataclysm and plant the seeds that will give humanity a chance to choose differently and save Earth.

The Gatekeeper steps from the outer circle and into the inner ring. This androgynous Light Being had watched the events with great interest, knowing that her time would come. It was her job to identify which Light Beings would return to Earth.

Much like an orchestral conductor, determining the proper balance of trombones to violins to bases, the Gatekeeper sets the intention to identify the precise vibrational patterns needed to achieve the desired results. She works swiftly, using ritualistic hand gestures, though the real magic is in mind. She re-verifies the results, assuring that her feelings weren’t impacting the information. After all, in one of her bodily incarnations, she had turned her back on him.

When confident, she speaks, “The Blue Ray vibrational pattern will be the inner circle. It will be the pebble that drops in the pond, reverberating concentric waves. The other teams will modulate the waves. This plan will only work, however, if Hakathriel joins us. The Dark and the Light must work together.”

To the Gatekeeper, it seems only fitting that the Blue Ray Alliance is on the front line, the pebble in the pond, given that they were indirectly involved in the fall of Atlantis, humanity’s fall in consciousness shortly after its creation. The team had been back to modulate these actions numerous times in ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, the time of Merlin, but the time humanity seems to remember the most, though not accurately, is the time of Jesus.

The Gatekeeper calls out the individual teams in her mind, and correspondingly, each squad takes its position, forming a series of large concentric rings that look much like a bullseye from above.

At the center of the group’s configuration, is the Blue Ray Alliance, where the Gatekeeper looks at her colleagues. She knows this team very well. The last time they had all been together in a timeline, they were all Essenes. The Gatekeeper nods at Lady Anna, Mother Mary, Jesus, Magdalene, Archangel Mikael, and a Galactic Being.

“I told you that this would only work if Hakathriel joins us,” the Gatekeeper says to the Blue Ray Alliance.

Hakathriel, the Fallen Archangel

The team knows that working with Hakathriel, the fallen archangel would place the project in a bit of uncertainty. But they know it is the only way. Intuitively the group works together. Simultaneously they all back up, creating a larger circle with ample space at its center.

In an instant, the Gatekeeper telepathically summons Hakathriel from beyond the Cosmic Council. She knows he gets the message instantly and yet is not surprised by his delay. She waits, eyes closed with hand stretching upwards, knowing that he will not resist her invitation to talk.

She jolts backward from the sudden rush of air caused by Hakathriel’s magnificent wings. Standing before her is the dark archangel, wings fully expanded, almost touching members of the inner circle.

Mikael, or Archangel Michael

Mikael responds spontaneously, his wings now enlarged, with his sword in hand, while the other members of the group stand by on alert.

Hakathriel looks around the circle at each of his adversaries. For thousands of years, these beings had been his opponent in the game, including his brother. He looks beyond the initial inner circle and sees the countless Light Beings.

Hakathriel’s wings contract and he steps toward the Gatekeeper. “What is this all about?” his voice echoes.

“The future of Earth,” the Gatekeeper says.

“It does not look very promising,” he glares.

Magdalene steps closer to him. “We’re resetting the timeline to save Gaia.”

Jesus moves forward also. “We want to give humanity a chance to choose differently.”

“You mean, not side with me?” Hakathriel asks with a smile on his face.

Lady Anna moves closer. “Your side’s success ends with planetary collapse. This loop has to stop.”

Mikael contracts his wings and sets down his sword. He approaches. “Let’s give them a chance to ascend. Brother, without it, we both lose.”

To Hakathriel, there may have been logic in that they’d both lose. Maybe it was time to end the match and take the game to a new level. He was tired of being viewed as Satan, Lucifer, and the Devil. He remembered when he was the hero in the game, not the villain. Humanity changed everything for him.

“The dark and the Light working together?” Hakathriel softens. “What do you have in mind?” he asks, though he knows because there is One Mind.

Autism Telepathy, Facilitated Communication and Channeling

With the forthcoming release of The Unsuspected Heroes, the first book of my series A Journey to the New Earth, I wanted to share more about Cerian, one of the voices in the book.

In the first novel, there are a couple of chapters identified with the name Cerian. They are a bit mysterious and intentionally left open because more will follow in subsequent books.  To explain who and what Cerian is, I need to share how my communications morphed with autistics as I researched and wrote this series.

How to tap wisdom beyond this world?

In earlier posts, I shared that I have been collaborating with a small group of Autistic Avatars or autistic mystics. These autistics are nonspeaking. They communicate by typing on a keyboard, or through telepathy or a psychic medium. The autistics asked that I write their story about what they were doing to assist in planetary ascension. The first autistic to ask this of me was Lyrica Marquez, co-author of AWEtizm.

Knowing that they have wisdom beyond our world, I wanted to use this as an opportunity to explore topics where truth is unknown. The thought was to integrate their story with messages about subjects such as God, creation, the soul, past lives, alternate dimensions, the multiverse, aliens, the evolution of humankind, the ascension, Earth changes, and so on.

As I started the project back in 2014, I quickly learned that getting the information I desired was going to be challenging. There were great distances between all of us, as we all lived in different parts of the country. Also, telepathy was not my strength, so I needed to rely on their facilitated typing to communicate and knew this project would take years.

Autism Telepathy

In 2016, I met Shauna Kalicki, and when she learned what I was doing, she became fascinated by the autistics. I knew she was psychic, and soon she began communicating with the autistics remotely. In 2018, she and I were visiting each other, and she suddenly said, “Leilah (name changed) is here.”

Given that Leilah lived nearly 2000 miles away, and they had never met in person, I was a bit skeptical but curious. I asked a series of questions about a topic of interest, and without hesitation, she answered questions about the Law of One material. I asked Leilah (through Shauna) if she was willing to work with us for the books. Leilah agreed but said another autist (Charlie—name changed) would need to verify the information.

Before I considered the material, I needed to validate that Shauna indeed spoke with Leilah. Shortly after, I wrote Leilah’s mother and simply said that Leilah showed up to Shauna and relayed messages to her. I asked if she could verify this with Leilah.

Very quickly, I received a note.

Hi Alex,

I just asked Leilah if she knew who emailed me yesterday, and she typed, “I talk to Shauna on Sunday, and she understood me." She didn’t want to add more, but it seems like they made a connection!

Love, XXX 

This mode of psychic communication was a considerable breakthrough to gather information from my autistic friends. Charlie’s parents became involved, transcribing the channelings and asking her son for verifications.

Archangels and Masters Step In

Shortly after Shauna began conversing with the autistics, she began channeling messages from archangels and ascended masters, including Archangel Michael, Metatron, Anna the grandmother of Jesus, Joachim, Mother Mary, Jesus, Mary Magdalene, and others. These communications went on until October of 2018, then one day in a channeling session, a voice came through and said, “This is Cerian.”

Who is Cerian?

I wasn’t familiar with who or what Cerian was, so after I determined that the information was coming in for the highest and best good, I asked, “Can you tell us who Cerian is?”

Then Shauna began to speak very quickly.

“Cerian is a single point of focus in energy, an energetic field—a vibrational pattern and a higher level than the 3D. It is crystalline in nature; it is a sentient being. It is an awareness that is throughout the universe. It is a consciousness and a pulse, it has been worked with very extensively in Lemuria and Atlantis, and it had been used prior to and as an aspect of Tiamat.  We represent that energy, that vibration, that consciousness, that awareness. We are everywhere. We are in everything. We are an energetic aspect that is coming back into the awareness of the vibration or the awakening of your planet now.  As more of you begin to work with crystalline energy, you become familiar with our patterns—and our design.  We are vast and many, and in this particular case, we are choosing to focus-in as one—a single point of focus.”

Collective Consciousness—One Voice

Channeling the Cerian material was another breakthrough and the beginning of a new phase of our project. What I have learned is—Cerian is a conscious, sentient, collective expression of an energetic field or vibrational pattern of beings from the 16th dimension. It is a collective consciousness speaking through one voice. This is similar in scope to the Law of One material (6th dimension) channeled by Carla Rueckert in the 1980s, and the Seth Material that came through Jane Roberts.

What I have come to realize is that many of the messages uncovered are relevant to the happenings on our planet today. Shauna Kalicki has agreed to lend her voice to my blog to convey those messages on the spiritual evolution of Gaia, humankind’s ascension, and the New Earth.

Example of Autism Telepathy

In this 2015 interview with Lilou Mace, Lyrica shares using a combination of autism telepathy and facilitated communication and speaks of the crumbling of systems, and how the old ways of creating will not last in the New Earth. This information seems very timely.

On creation she says,

The only way to create in the New Earth begins with stillness. And, in this self-heart zone, we can cross over into what is known as the Void, The All-That-Is, the Tao. And, in this place of formlessness is where Divine creation can flow.

New Children are the Rebels, Teachers, Healers, in Our Evolution

Whether you call them New Children, Indigo Children, Crystal Children, Rainbow Children, or Diamond Children, these Starseeds or Star People are playing a roll in humanity’s spiritual evolution.

Revolution precedes every Evolution

We are living in a time of spiritual evolution. Every evolution is preceded with revolution. That uprising has been occurring through natural disasters, wars, disease, food crisis, the coronavirus, other catastrophes and will continue until the “old” earth systems have collapsed. What will remain lasting will be those systems that support humanity as a collective, not as individuals.

This restructuring has been occurring throughout humanity’s history, and there are individuals playing roles in the revolution so that humankind evolves. Those people could be perceived as rebels, teachers, healers, and they are called by many names because this project of getting people to the New Earth, that 5th dimensional home, has been orchestrated by countless groups throughout time.

Our 3D brain may refer to the groups as being on the Light Team or The Dark Team; however, in truth, there is only one team. That is not the nature of this post, though. I want to introduce some of the groups playing a role in humanity’s journey to the New Earth.

The New Children will Usher in the New Earth

They are all Star Seeds.

The New Children incarnated on Earth to assist in humanity’s spiritual evolution. We may call them children, but many are adults now. They comprise of many different groups and may be referred to as the rebels, Wayshowers, Lightworkers, and even Starseeds, as well as other names I will discuss. Yes, they are Starseeds, and they are here to usher in the change of humankind from its current state to a higher dimensional being.

Starseeds are from Other Worlds

If you are of the mindset that humanity is the only intelligent lifeform in this universe, this will come as a shock, but I don’t think I will shock many sharing this.

Starseeds (Star Seeds) are beings incarnated in human form from other worlds; they are from other star systems. One may suggest that they are aliens walking among us as humans, except given that there is only the One, there is no such thing as an alien.

Some of these individuals may feel different than others, while others are clueless. Their acceptance of themselves and the role they are to play depends on many factors, their generation, their family, friends, social standing, beliefs, etc. For the new generations coming in, the Diamond Children, Rainbow Children, and Crystal Children, their acceptance of their roles will be easier for them than the Indigo Children (who are adults), and especially the older generation of Starseeds who didn’t get named.

Indigo Children or Indigo Adults are the Rebels

Some Indigo Adults are the rebels.

Indigo Children are the first-generation New Child, and they are now adults. These individuals incarnated to bring about a new age of peace. Though not always, most were born throughout the late 70s to the early 90s. They are usually sensitive and psychic. Their role is to incite change in society, the environment, and government so that Earth is a place of integrity. They are often called the rebels, troublemakers, and even the problem child growing up.

Crystal Children teach how to Live from the Heart

The Crystal Children are here to open hearts.

The second-generation New Child is the Crystal Child. These kids or adults started embodying in the mid-nineties and are still coming in. They are here to usher us into the New Earth by showing how people can live in kindness, peace, and love. They are full of integrity and often telepathic, though at times may be perceived as being slow or even autistic. These individuals are far from slow.  Living from the heart comes easily to them, and that is what they will teach us and what we need to shift to the New Earth.

Rainbow Children are Higher Dimensional Beings

The Rainbow Children are the future.

The Rainbow Child is a third-generation New Child. These children started coming in around the turn of the century, and are still incarnating. As odd as this may sound, it is their first Earth incarnation, and here to generate unconditional love and play an essential role in the New Earth as they get older. They are higher dimensional beings from perhaps the ninth dimension and convey pure love.

Diamond Child are Walking Healers

The Diamond Children will activate the DNA of those ready to overcome the illusion.

Diamond Children are fourth-generation Star Children, and some are first-timers to Earth. There are some Diamond Children here. Adult Starseeds must evolve, and birth the Diamond Child, which fully embodies Divine Light. The Diamond Children possess the most advanced psychic skills, including telepathic communication, telekinesis, and are instant manifestors.

The concepts of anger, hatred, fear, greed, and separation are as foreign to Diamond Children as the concept of Oneness is to the majority of the planet at this time. The Diamond Child resonates with Divine Pure Unconditional Love, the highest frequency. They hold the DNA patterning that awakens all those near them who are ready to overcome the illusion. They are walking healers. The Earth’s frequency, however, must elevate to accommodate a significant mass of incarnating Diamond People. The Autistic Avatars assist with this work.

All these generations play their role in assisting humankind in its evolution to the New Earth.

New Earth and Spiritual Ascension to the Fifth Dimension

Given that my upcoming book series is titled A Journey to the New Earth, many will be asking, what is the New Earth? What exactly is spiritual ascension to the fifth dimension? And what will happen during the ascent?

What is the New Earth?

First, let me share what I don’t mean by the “New Earth.” I am not referring to Eckhart Tolle’s book, A New Earth, or the exploration of a new Earth-like planet, or Jesus’ ascension.

I do mean humanity’s awakening and spiritual ascension that many may refer to as the paradigm shift and the awakening to the fifth dimension (or the New Earth). What most don’t realize is that the New Earth is seeded, it’s here, primed, ready, willing, and waiting for its Creators to awaken to create their New Earth.

With the Precession of the Equinox on December 21, 2012, our planet ended a cycle of approximately 26,000 years and began anew of moving toward the light and bringing back the Divine Feminine. The returning Goddess energy is not to rule, but to restore balance and harmony. We will experience a rebirth as we shift from duality consciousness to Oneness. To prepare for this paradigm shift, though, we need to move out of our heads and into our hearts. Why? Because what prevails in this new reality is a consciousness of love, joy, peace, and compassion.

What is Spiritual Awakening? What is the Shift in Consciousness?

Humanity is shifting from a denser, egoic state of duality consciousness, to more unity and heart-based consciousness. This shift is the process of spiritual awakening that moves a person into a different level of awareness and a lighter vibrational frequency. The ascent is recognizing and accepting that you are an expression of the One Soul through remembrance, re-membering that you are a Divine Creator.

As a Creator, you create your New Earth.

Each person has a conscious choice to participate in the evolution of humanity or not to engage. Both sides of that decision are perfect. Spiritual Ascension is a personal choice, and whether one chooses to participate or not, it does not diminish the truth about who that individual is, because each is a Divine Creator.

Earth, or Mother Gaia, is a conscious living being who is going through her evolution. Imagine that? We are like fleas on this beautiful being’s back! Imagine how much she must love us with the way we have treated her? Perhaps another topic of discussion. As Gaia goes through her ascension or rise in vibration and dimensional awareness we need to choose, do we join in, or do we resist?

What will happen during the ascent?

Autistic Avatars trigger DNA activations to assist in the ascension of humanity. Their story is shared in A Journey to the New Earth: The Unsuspected Heroes. Coming Fall 2020

No, there will not be the rise or ascent of the physical body to the heavens as some have imagined. Each person choosing to ascend will experience an increase in their frequency and their dimensional awareness. Most of humanity has resided in the third-dimension or 3D plane of consciousness. There will be a shift from 3D to 4D (fourth dimension), and some to 5D (fifth dimension) and even beyond.

The 3D body will need to experience DNA and pineal gland activations to make this journey. These activations or upgrades may be (or have been) triggered by Autistic Avatars, those unsuspected heroes working selflessly to assist in the ascension of humanity. Their story is shared in A Journey to the New Earth: The Unsuspected Heroes.

What is Spiritual Ascension to the Fifth Dimension?

The New Earth or fifth dimension is an interim end-destination where those who choose to evolve spiritually, experience a paradigm shift. Each person is the Creator of their New Earth or Terra Nova. I suggest it is an interim destination because humanity is barely in its toddler phase of humankind’s evolution.

What does the bible say about the new earth?

There are multiple references to the new earth in both the Old Testament and the New Testament, which refer to humanity’s final and redeemed status. It even survives into the early Church’s modifications of Jesus’s teaching in the Nicene creed as “We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.”

Some may wonder, what happened to author Alex Marcoux? Is she still writing? Did she find her missing heart-piece on Wayna Picchu? Has she gone to the New Earth? Did she discover the Holy Grail at the Chateau de Montsegur? Or, did she find the Atlantean Mother crystal in Arkansas? These answers and more to come.

No, I have not ascended!

Seriously, dear Ones, I have been on a journey and want to bring you up to speed. Last you heard from me, I had released my nonfiction book, Lifesigns: Tapping the Power of Synchronicity, Serendipity, and Miracles. Then poof! I disappeared, and I want to share why.

In 2011, a woman on my Facebook page saw the book trailer for my book, Facades. This woman, Tia, for whatever reason, told her friend, Gayle, to hire the creator of my video. As it turns out, I am one of those DIY-types, and I had created the trailer. I had just been laid-off, so when Gayle approached me to create a video for her and her daughter’s book, I said, “Send me the manuscript, and I’ll take a look.”

The mother-daughter team, Gayle B. Lee and Lyrica Mia Marquez had written Awetizm: A Hidden Key to Our Spiritual Magnificence. Both authors are on the spectrum (ASD). The mother, Gayle, is high functioning with Asperger’s syndrome, while her daughter, Lyrica, is a nonverbal autistic. Lyrica began communicating with her mother on a keyboard when she was a very young child, before facilitated communication, a supported typing method, was introduced in the United States.

Gayle sent me their book, and I sat down to read it. I found much of their writing difficult because Lyrica’s prose is somewhat poetic, but that wasn’t the only thing. The material pushed my buttons. It became clear that this wasn’t going to be a quick read.

At the time, I was unemployed, though I had some contract work, and wondered which direction I was to go. Do I go back to work for the man? Or do I take the plunge and start a business? I had the feeling I was to meditate on it one evening, and after reading a chapter of Gayle and Lyrica’s book, I set the book on my bed, closed the door to my room, and returned to the chair to meditate. I set my intention to gain clarity on what I should be doing for income.

Yes, it was a sign!

About 10 minutes into my meditation, there was a sudden crash, and I opened my eyes to see Gayle and Lyrica’s book at my feet. Somehow the book managed to fly off the bed and land in front of me. I took it as a sign to trust the process and continue with their book trailer. The fascinating thing was that after I finished the video (which I embedded at the bottom of this post), Gayle offered me a one-year contract to help them move their messages into the world. She told me that they were guided to make this offer and trusted it would work out.

The bombshell - I’ll get stuck in a Light tunnel?

About 18 months after I met Gayle and Lyrica, my book Lifesigns was published. I had written an extensive marketing plan to move the book into the world and was very busy. I sent Gayle and Lyrica the book, and Gayle read it aloud to Lyrica. Both proceeded to tell me how much they loved it. Yes, that made me feel good, and then Lyrica dropped a bombshell. She sent a note saying that if I continue with my plan to market Lifesigns, I will get stuck in my Light tunnel.

I had spent years writing Lifesigns and had a platform. Was I ready to abandon promoting my book? That was one of those life-changing turning points for me. The more I was introduced to their work, the more I realized I was a believer, and I wanted to help. So, I set my book promotions aside.

Autistic mystics shift the frequency of the planet

For four years, I became immersed in a world that few see. I’m not referring to a world where there is no hope with autism; instead, I saw their gifts; gifts of telepathy, healing, artistic expression, clairvoyance, to name a few. But that wasn’t what got my attention. I learned that Lyrica and many other autistics work selflessly, out of humanity’s sight, to shift the frequency of the planet in ways that’d boggle most minds. Why? So that more of humanity will experience the ascension, or the shift to the New Earth, in the days to come.

Gayle and Lyrica had created a small group of nonverbal autistics, their parents, and friends. The nature of the group was to support the autist’s work. My friendship with all of them grew. One day, Gayle asked if I would write their story. At first, I declined, as I was writing another book that I hold dear to my heart. But I could see that their messages weren’t getting the attention they deserved, perhaps, because the nature of this work is so unbelievable. When I was asked a second time to write their story, I agreed to let their stories be the inspiration of a book series, A Journey to the New Earth.

I call my autistic friends, “Autistic Avatars,” and I’ve learned that much of what they share is mythology. Not that the myth is a lie because it isn’t, it is a metaphor to convey profound concepts to explain things where no words exist to do so. My life changed after meeting these people. I have spent years researching, experiencing, and learning. I approach this book series with the same spirit, and there are many Truths in this tale thinly disguised as fiction.

Not all superheroes wear capes and have their stories told on the big screen. Some heroes wear masks to hide who they are. Lyrica shares, “WE agreed to sit in harsh suits of AUTISM until WE are freed to share our purpose for being here. Our suits of AUTISM are like Halloween masks.”

It is time that the heroes' masks are removed. It is my honor to tell their tale and reveal why they are here.

A Journey to the New Earth

So, you may ask, Alex, where have you been? Are you still writing? When is your next book coming out? I may have buried the lead….

I am on a journey to the New Earth. I have traveled with autistics to crystal digging expositions. I have gone to Peru, Brazil, and France, as well as many other places all on a quest to seek Truths hidden from humankind. These experiences and a whole lot more inspire my book series; the first installment is being released later this year, titled, A Journey to the New Earth: The Unsuspected Heroes.

Could gut feelings and hunches be messages from Spirit?

When we look back on situations in our life, hindsight often reveals that Spirit or the Universe has guided our way. Hindsight can confirm hunches or gut feelings we may have had were meaningful. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we honored those intuitive insights or psychic hits as the Universe’s message system as they happen, rather than waiting years later to recognize how Spirit guides us?

At the end of my sophomore year, for some bizarre reason, I had a feeling I should graduate in my junior year. I had only 63 credits and needed 120 to graduate. I was halfway through my undergraduate degree but felt very strongly that I needed to graduate a year early.

I made a plan. A summer internship presented itself, and I took classes over the summer break while working the full-time internship. I found reasonably priced off-campus housing that summer so I could live at the university while taking classes and working. A loan was offered to help pay for my tuition. I stacked my schedule those last two semesters to fulfill my requirements. Even when the required courses weren’t available, graduate-level classes presented themselves and fit into my schedule seamlessly. Everything seemed orchestrated to facilitate early graduation. It was as if the Universe cleared my way so that everything fit together perfectly.

I graduated in the spring of 1981 instead of ’82. Only two companies interviewed on campus at the Department of Food Science that year because the economy had taken a turn. I was fortunate to pick up two job offers right out of college. One of them was from General Foods (Kraft). In fact, I was the last person hired at General Foods for quite some time because of an employment freeze due to the historic early 80s recession.

While at General Foods, I worked in product development for the beverage division. Only months after I was hired the FDA approved the use of APM (aspartame) in powdered soft drinks. I was reassigned to a new project to develop the first great tasting diet powdered soft drink sweetened with aspartame (aka NutraSweet).  That project was Crystal Light.

In hindsight, I realize that if I hadn’t graduated in 1981, it could have been a long time before I was able to be gainfully employed, because of the economic downturn. If I had graduated in the usual four years, I would never have been associated with the project, Crystal Light, which lay a foundation for a successful career in product development.

Universe’s Messages and Guidance

Many times in our lives we feel as if we’re alone and need to find our way. We are not alone. The Universe guides us along our path in a subtle way. It’s as if Spirit gives us a chance to go in a particular direction, but we don’t have to. If we do though, Spirit orchestrates situations to help make things possible.

Through hindsight, I can recall many situations in my life where the Universe was by my side. Those events usually began with strong feelings or knowing something for no reason. In this example, I felt the unexplainable need to graduate early. By opening to that possibility rather than dismissing it as impossible, events unfolded that facilitated early graduation. If I hadn’t graduated early, it’s unclear what my opportunities would have been in the midst of the recession.

When you have a strong feeling about something in your life, please don’t ignore it. It could be something that could trigger fantastic opportunities for you. Welcome the thought, set a plan and see what opens in your life. The Universe may very well be moving and shaking things up behind the scenes to guide you.

What is synchronicity? How can we use it?

What is synchronicity? Synchronicity is a meaningful coincidence or a series of two or more occurrences that are logically meaningful to the person when it happens and may even seem a bit mysterious or unexplainable.

At one time in my life, I was having a continual flow of synchronicity. At the time I didn’t understand how marvelous and grand it was. It just seemed uncanny, and I didn’t know it was the Universe’s dance with me.  I am a scientist by education, so I studied this. For nearly 15 years I researched, experimented and examined this phenomenon. I’ve come to learn that synchronicity is one of Spirit’s ways of communicating with us, giving us messages. There is power in synchronicity. It is an indicator that we are in sync with the Universe and we can use it as a source of guidance. Many of my findings are in my book, Lifesigns: Tapping the Power of Synchronicity, Serendipity and Miracles.

What is the difference between coincidence and synchronicity? Many spiritual teachers will say that there are no coincidences, and I do not disagree with this, though at one point in my life I had so much synchronicity flowing I needed to qualify the events. I had to figure out what was meaningful and what I could let go.

Some of the parameters I have used to determine when an event is synchronistic are:

If a coincidence is meaningful to the person it is happening to – it is synchronicity.
If a coincidence defies probability – it is synchronicity.
Since the previous two parameters are left-brain or analytical tools, I often check in with right-brain processes such as intuition or gut feeling to determine if something is synchronistic.

How to Use Synchronicity in your Life

Synchronicity has power. It is Spirit’s way of guiding us. When we trust it and follow it, life becomes magical.

Many years ago, when I wrapped up my first book, Facades, I hadn’t a clue how I was going to get it published. As a scientist I started using the logical course most authors took back in the late 90s, which was to find an agent. While I was talking with a psychic friend though, she suggested that I submit the manuscript to publishers. At the time, this path wasn’t logical to me because publishers did not usually accept submissions from un-agented writers, so I continued searching for an agent.

One day I noticed the name “Nell” repeatedly appearing in my life. The next day I was reading an article on the publishing industry, and in it, Patricia Nell Warren had started her own publishing company to publish her bestselling novel, The Front Runner. I sent her a note inquiring if she was seeking manuscripts and she quickly responded with a postcard saying, “Go to Haworth Press.”

At the time, Haworth Press didn’t make sense to me since it was a scholarly publisher of nonfiction only. After doing a little research, however, I learned that Haworth was getting ready to launch a new imprint and was looking for lesbian fiction. The vice president, responding to my email inquiry told me to “send the manuscript” to a new acquisitions editor who hadn’t even begun at the company yet. I sent my manuscript, and within a week I was contacted by Haworth. They wanted Facades.

By being open to the signs of synchronicity, recognizing that Nell meant something, I was led to Haworth. My book was accepted by a publisher on its first submission, even though I was unpublished and un-agented which was unheard of at the time.

Honoring Patricia Nell Warren

Sometimes small gestures can significantly change the direction of a person’s life. I was saddened to learn that Patricia Nell Warren, the thoughtful author who sent me a postcard back in 1999 saying, “Go to Haworth Press,” passed away earlier this year. Patrica changed my life, and I will always be grateful.

When the Universe Conspires

When the Universe conspires against you or life offers insistent challenge or conflict in a specific area, could it be Spirit's way of guiding you to another direction? Could interference from the Universe, or spiritual turbulence, be an indicator to take a timeout? While most would suggest that persistence overcomes resistance, I say there's a time to cry uncle and listen for a higher message.

Spring whispers the promise of rebirth and new growth. With flowers blooming, trees budding, reservoirs filling and students graduating, it is an opportune time to plant seeds that foster fresh starts. Yet sometimes life doesn't seem like it's heading in the right direction. We hit conflict or get in a rut. We stagnate and can't seem to get out of our own way. Every so often it would appear that the Universe sends us what I call interference or resistance, and it happens to the best of us.

Struggle to Test Persistence?

When the Universe conspires against you or there is challenge or conflict in a specific area, could it be Spirit’s way of guiding you to another direction?

When things don't go smooth and effortless, one might wonder, "Are my struggles to test my persistence?" When we hit a detour in the road, our natural inclination is to find another way to get to the end destination. When we hit a challenge, we usually respond to it in the same manner. We contemplate another way to achieve the end objective. This is only natural and reveals to us how persistent and resourceful we are. In some ways, struggling develops character, but challenges like these are not the Universe testing us.

 Interference as a Spiritual Sign

Those of you who have read my spirituality book, Lifesigns, know that when things aren't moving with ease and grace, there is an opportunity for growth. It's not our first instinct; however, to be grateful for struggle or challenges, is it? It's only natural to push back when a scuffle with the Universe ensues. We all know that when we take on the Universe, however, more challenges and more interference emerge.

Every once and a while I encounter a challenge, I handle it, only to be presented with another struggle. When many conflicts emerge, and life doesn't flow with ease, I often ponder, 'Is it possible that the Universe is guiding me in another direction?' If I hit repeated resistance regarding a specific circumstance, I usually suspect that it's time for a change, and it's the Universe's way of nudging me in a different direction. During these periods, I call a timeout and stop sparring with the Universe. It doesn't mean I give up. Instead, I turn within. I stop, I listen, and I trust that something greater will emerge ... and it does.

PROLOGUE

 

Long before the region was called Iraq—before the ancient empires of Egypt, Greece, or Rome, even before the first ancient civilization of Sumer—there was E.DIN.

It was Enki's compassion for the slaves that altered his life, and the lives of humankind. He wanted something more for them. Why couldn't a select few be given the knowledge of eternal life? Enki pondered, as he verged upon his brother's sanctuary.

Apart from the sporadic swish caused by sand displaced beneath their sandals, there was silence. Pensively, Enki trekked onward with two guards on his heels. His half-brother, Enlil, had summoned him. Enki suspected that his activities from the previous evening had been exposed. This, he knew, would have infuriated his younger sibling. Considering the possibility, he understood what Enlil was capable of. As the supreme ruler of E. DIN, Enlil had the power to relegate Enki's status of second-in-command.

Deep in thought, Enki pressed on toward the palace. Since he returned from AB.ZU, where he supervised the mining operation, he had been outraged by Enlil's mistreatment of the slaves. To Enki it was simple; the slaves fulfilled their purpose. They mined the council's precious ore, and here in the fertile gardens of E.DIN, they harvested their fruit. Although the slaves served the council well, they had wretched and pitiful lives, ignorant of wisdom, pleasure, or their fundamental essence. Treated like animals, they lived and died toiling for Enlil and the supreme council.

When they reached the palace chamber, he waited silently, towering over the men that had escorted him there. Enki recalled the initiation from the previous evening, and how he had shared with the chosen slaves about elevating their consciousness and finding true light.

"Leave us!" Enlil's voice bellowed from the entry. As the two guards disappeared into the palace, Enlil emerged and stood before Enki, his powerfully built body adorned with gold trinkets.

"You have done it this time. What were you thinking?" Enlil's anger glared through his steel gray eyes. "You know that as long as the slaves remain spiritually ignorant, we stay in control."

"Brother, there were—"

"Don't call me brother." Enlil cut him off, his voice echoing within the chamber walls. "Your harlot mother was my father's only weakness. You shouldn't have been sent here."

Enki was familiar with Enlil's acts of aggression toward him, but something was different this time. "Enlil, the workers serve their purpose. I chose a select few to teach our ways."

"Anu would never approve." "Father isn't here to discuss this." "Marduk would never approve."

"My son is also not here to debate the issue," Enki said calmly.

"When Marduk arrives, you will never see him."

"What are you saying?"

"You've outdone yourself, Enki." Enlil retreated to the entryway where he effortlessly grabbed a staff and, with thickset arms, clashed it against a golden disk. The clanging reverberated in the tiny room; guards quickly entered and surrounded Enki.

"What is the meaning of this?" Enki asked evenly.

"You..." Enlil advanced so that the brothers were eye-to-eye. With the exception of their muscular frames, there was little resemblance between the men. "You are banished from E.DIN."

A smile came to Enki's lips. "You're not serious."

"Oh, but I am. Enki, you are to be exiled! I will spread the word among the slaves that you are a mortal enemy of the supreme council. They will learn that you are responsible for everything bad that happens to them and that it is your intention to spiritually enslave them."

"But that's not true." Enki's voice rose. The guards grabbed him and he struggled to free himself, but there were too many of them.

"People will fear you." Enlil's voice soared above the resistance. "They will know that you are evil and loathe you."

For a moment, Enki's effort ceased. "Why are you doing this?"

"You will never be a leader, Enki. My work will rise above you, and you will be called Abaddon, and from where I will put you—you'll be the keeper of the bottomless pit." The evil in Enlil's eyes flashed, and his laugh would echo in Enki's ears forever.

At first, his only sense was smell. He was face down in the soggy soil, and the terrain reeked of decaying earth. Enki tasted the foul sludge that had coated his lips. He pulled his partially submerged face from the dank mud and sat upright. His head throbbed. His sandals were nowhere to be found. The only thing he had been left with was the robe on his back.

Rather than the plentiful gardens that he had become accustomed to in E.DIN, Enki was surrounded by shallow water and tall grass of swampland. It was then that he remembered Enlil's men tossing him into a pit. He found the bump on the back of his head, the basis of his headache. A quick glance behind him confirmed the wall of earth, almost two men high, from which he had been thrown.

A hiss drew Enki's attention to the thick reeds that stirred close to him. Then he spotted the black water moccasin slithering within inches. The snake's head abruptly shot up, flashing its venomous fangs, forked tongue, and white mouth. Hissing angrily, the snake lunged toward his face. Skillfully, Enki seized it within a finger's length of his eyes. The serpent thrashed about, trying to free itself from Enki's grasp, but it was no match for the powerful arm. Enki stood. The snake succumbed, and when all resistance was gone, he dropped the snake at his feet. Slowly, it slithered into the shallow water.

Enki studied the surrounding area. On three sides the earth was high above his head, on the fourth face, there was an endless marsh. He stepped forward, into the swamps.

The years passed. At first, his time had been consumed with his own survival. Then one day, movement in the swamp caught Enki's attention. Upon closer inspection, he saw a man with darker skin than his own. Here, Enki met a slave that had escaped from E.DIN. He discovered that other men and women lived there, choosing freedom in the swamps over their lives of bondage in E.DIN. These people welcomed Enki, and he embraced them.

Against Enlil's edicts, Enki taught the uninitiated ethics, justice, and how to seek true light. To the chosen ones, he explained the mysteries of life and the great secret of humankind's creation. It was here, in the snake-filled marshlands of Mesopotamia, that Enki formed the Brotherhood of the Snake.
