Heroes

This poem is a forgery

Contrived

Written on a napkin

To make it seem authentic

This poem is a fraud

A fake

And yet written with such conviction

That it became true

I fought and died for you

A thousand deaths

And I regret nothing

Flying back to you

Beyond the speed of love

My superheroine

And I

Your superman

Plague Dogs

Two dummies

Met at the pound

We stand out

And get hammered down

But there is a tie

That binds us to our homes

I am so sick of traveling

Never may I roam

The Prisoner

I love you more than the food on my tray

Please don't take my sunshine away

For you are my way, my truth, my light

Shelter from the endless night

I flew too close to the sun

My wings melted - It was supposed to be fun

Now I'm on the run

Still kill to eat

But I'd rather have you

Than all of this tough meat

Rufus the Hellhound

I used to be a Netflix Nazi

But I had to give it up

Movies have no allure

When you learn the world's corrupt

But in the end, after all

The transition's not abrupt

It's the same old hell where I was raised

Since I was a pup

Closer

Every breath I take, or not

Brings me closer to you

And without that goal in sight

I don't know what I'd do

Set adrift in empty space

Embracing just the void

Guided by my eastern star

It's gravity, employed

Promise

A poem a day is hard to do

When my days are so blue

But then again, my muse

There's no poetry without you

Please forgive my lengthy absence

And keep me in your heart

For when next we meet again

The happy endings start

To The Love Of My Life

We only get one great love

And when we find it, then we know

It burns so bright, it almost blinds us

Until the tears begin to flow

It kills the pain within our hearts

Or trades it for some more

But once it's felt

You cannot lose it

And it will not let you go

Oh, wrap me up in your embrace

Make this sadness go away

Every time I see your face

It's like the light of day

Trading Up

I swapped my breakfast for your portrait

Possibly my lunch for use of this pencil

And two sheets of paper

At the law library

You know what I must do

I was going to write on your book

To save ink

But here I am

Trying to go direct

And pay my respects to you

Don't think I am complaining

Or really even bragging

Rather

Trying, as always

To show you how much I care

Book will burn or crumble

Edifications will all tumble

Our love

And light

Is forever

The true laws

That govern the multiverse

Focus

Even a nice round ass

Can't hold my attention for long

I'd rather write to you

Than look at them

In the back of my mind, of course

I'd like to watch you fuck her

Until I can wait no more

And grab you

As a lion

Grabs his prey

Eternal Trials

I judge their hearts and souls

Most are found lacking

Because none measure up to you

Even on their own merits

They betray themselves

Sold short

Piles of wasted potential

I cannot help but be lenient

Out of pity

A scornful concept

Contempt

Thinly disguised hate

Masquerading as love
