Queer Reads and Reviews
For the longest time, I avoided putting reviews up about other books. There's a few reasons behind it.
One, I'm sometimes embarrassed by how slowly I read. Seriously, I have friends who can blink and finish a book. But thanks to some lovely bookish accounts I follow on IG I've learned to accept and embrace my slow reading ways.
Two, back when I was trying to get published (trad style) I remember reading or hearing a piece of advice discussing how writers needed to be careful what they rated and/or reviewed. Also, how writers need to stay out of reader spaces. While I very much agree to respect reader spaces, I think that only applies when wearing my author cap. When I've got my reader cap on, I think it's okay for me to gush about books I enjoyed. I've seen lots of writers who rate and review others and I see plenty who avoid the rating/reviewing. I think we all just have to do what makes us comfortable.
I'm going to be gradually hurling out reviews to books I've read. I'm going to prioritize queer indie book reviews because these are stories that mean a lot to me.
And then I'll probably disappear into darkness and return with another cluster of reviews. lol
Hope you're all having a wonderful Pride!

Book News to wrap up 2023 and move into 2024
The Misfit Mage and His Dashing Devil is 10 days away from the release!!! I'm so excited for Wally and Bez to be out in the world.
But...don't think that means I've forgotten about Dorian, Milo, and all the wonderful students from the Branches of Past and Future. In fact, I'll be teasing about the title in my upcoming newsletter and I'm planning on doing a cover reveal in November.
Currently, 2024 is going to be an eventful year.
March, 2024: Branches of Past and Future Book Two.
June, 2024: Diabolic Romance Book Two (more Wally and Bez--with some Mora and Kell, too).
September, 2024: Branches of Past and Future Book Three.

First Post - 2023 Book Updates
Howdy folks!
I'm not very active on here. I *should* be active here. It's so much work putting myself out there whether sharing big announcements or day-to-day stuff. But I made it a new year's goal (hope, plea, something haha) to engage more with others on social media.
Some quick news to share with those interested.
Three Meant To Be has been out in the world for a little over a week. I'm so thrilled readers are enjoying the story, my grumpy telepath, his sunshiny love interest (who has all that golden retriever energy), and the twelve students.
I'm already super hyped to start talking about book two (but I'm going to hold off--know 2024 will be here soon and you'll be seeing a lot more of Dorian and the students at Gemini Academy).
In related news, Crescentville Haunting has been finding a few new readers which I think might be related to TMTB's release. It's lovely because I will always hold Logan's journey close to my heart.
Biggest update: The Misfit Mage and His Dashing Devil is releasing October 9th, 2023.
Print preorders are finally available *eeep* I'm so excited.
ARC news will be coming soon (like by the end of July soon). Wally and Bez are so much fun. If you like dual POV, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and bloody/smutty stories, I'd love for you to consider joining my ARC team.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post. Feel free to comment or message me with questions (or just to say hi).
Best wishes,
MN Bennet
