Becoming a Locavore (one cheese at a time.)
I had a fascinating discussion with some of my friends on Facebook about how we eat. I am working hard to change some lazy eating habits. On Wednesday, I will be discussing some of the food controversy that I have been facing recently. (Warning – RANT ALERT!) But so many of my friends wanted this list of Bay Area places to start buying local grown and breed foods.
I know that many of you don't live in the Bay Area, but I thought this would get the ball rolling to the conversation. If you...

Snorting Cocoa Powder Only Leads to Harder Stuff
An uplifting Easter e-mail conversation between me and my assistant Monica after she finished a BIG project for me:
Monica: "The world is so much more manageable in your pajamas and with a junk food dinner. Now all I need is some chocolate."
Kathi: "You must have some chocolate SOMEWHERE in the house?!?"
Monica: "Oh there is chocolate around the house, I'm just restraining myself from going to Coldstone since I found a coupon. Wouldn't be a good match with the first week at the gym."
Monica: "I ...

The ME PROJECT is Almost Done – and the Title of The Next Book is…
Yep – this is how I've looked for the past two weeks (OK – not so blond, not so skinny, and not so showered…)
I have been typing like a mad woman on the book, so that is why the blog has been so pickin' quiet. Thanks to everyone who has sent me notes of encouragement of prayer and just plain old cheering me on.
On Monday – I will be starting back in to blogging on a pretty regular basis, because, I have a new book to write and I'm going to need your help.
You see, this summer I will be working ...

Making Lessons Memorable
How do you make a lesson memorable?
I am writing an article on how do you make the lessons you teach memorable. (I have a newsletter that I send to church leaders with this as the featured article. If you are a church leader and don't recieve this, let me know at kathi at kathilipp.com and I will add you to the list!) I want to offer some additional ideas and that is where you come it.
Whether you are a Sunday School teacher, a Bible Study Leader, a Youth worker, or someone who has been under ...

Winners, Features and Why My Second Grade Teacher was SO Wrong
So today I am one of the authors featured on Super Agent Rachelle Gardner's Blog as an author she spent a long time (ten years) building my platform before publishing a book.
I would like to tell my second grade teacher, Mrs. Green – who wrote on my report card, "Kathy has trouble staying focused on her work and tends to share with her neighbor," Hmmm – seems like I AM able to stay on task. And as far as sharing with my neighbor? I now get paid to talk. Just saying.

Words for When You Feel Overwhelmed
Is it all just too much sometimes?
I felt that way back in January as I was preparing to launch my new talk for The Marriage Project. you may remember that the day before I was to present that talk for the first time, our row of townhouses caught on fire.
After being relieved that everyone was OK, my next thought was, "How am I going to finish this speech?" (Now if you're thinking, "Wow, it is the day before your speech and everything is not neatly wrapped up, printed, and put into a labeled...

Prayer Swap
"Therefor
e confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous woman is powerful and effective." James 5:16 The New Kathi Version
Asking for Prayer
Hey ladies – it has been quiet here on the blog this week. I have been working and speaking but mostly I have been writing.
I have a new book, "The Me Project" that is coming out at the end of the year, but it's due in three weeks.
Oy to the Vey.
So my HP laptop and I have become one. But not i...

5 Ways To Get More Time for the Important Stuff (and no, I am not going to get on you about watching TV – much…)
We have been doing the dating challenge this month and when I asked you for your top reasons why you don't date – time was at the top of the list.
The irony? Some of the first people who answered were my friends on Facebook – one of my biggest time suckers if I'm not careful. (Anyone else? Or am I alone in this?)
I know you are going to expect me to say things like "Give up 30 minutes of TV," and for some of us, that may be required, but I also know that your 60 minutes of Glee may be the only ...
