Just rescued a little kitten out under the garbage can lid. I heard this crying and looked out the window expecting to see a bird. Only I saw this little gray and white head peeking out. I rushed outside with the carrier and managed to get her into it. Man she was wild. Dug all four paws and her teeth into me  but she couldn't have been more than 4 weeks old if that old. Had the prettiest blue eyes. Looked just like this picture but was actually smaller.

Well, called my niece because she has experience with fostering and finding homes through Candy Cats. She was pretty sure the kitten would have to be bottle fed. I'm thinking, oh no, I have absolutely no experience in that. So I decided to take her down to Petco to see what they suggested, as well as get her some food and milk. Never made it.

Looked out my window and saw a gray cat walking past where the lid was. She would take a few steps, stop, look back and cry out. I knew it had to be the mother. So I brought the kitten out to her and they went off into the woods together. Sigh of relief, happy ending!

HOPE CHEST

When I was in my teens my mom encouraged me to start a hope chest. She explained that she and her mother and so on down the line had them. That it was something young ladies did back then, so that when they entered marriage they brought something with them. Course back in her day and before most girls didn't leave home until their wedding day.

So I did what she suggested, I believe my sister did, too. Every pay day I'd buy one or two things. And by the time I moved out on my own I had all the kitchen and bath items that I would need for my apartment. I left home when I was seventeen and didn't get married until I was eighteen.

Anyway, the chest in this picture is very similar to the one I have. I was looking at it the other day, thinking about what was inside it, when I thought about my granddaughter, Alivia. How cool would it be to do the same thing with her. Course she's too young now, but maybe when she's around fifteen. I already have some beautiful quilts my mother made, and dish clothes she knitted, to go into it.

Did any of you have a hope chest?

A Reader's Review!

This review is on Amazon and the reader gave Talk Dirty to Me 5 stars! Here's what she had to say...This is the first book by author Tory Richards that I have read but will not be the last. She not only writes a very sexy story but her characters are very believable and interesting. Well done, Tory Richards!

My first interracial romance!

I'm excited to announce that I was just offered a contract for my short erotic romance,  Instant Attraction ! My first interracial romance! Here's a brief snippet.

Thomas is a motorcycle cop, new to the area. Julie is an animal lover and works at a no kill shelter. Living next door to one another, she's asked by the small town hall to welcome him to the neighborhood. When they meet for the very first time instant attraction causes the sparks to fly. And they can't keep their hands off each other. The hot sex between them is great but they both want more. Can instant attraction turn into love?

Less is More

Do you believe that? I was sitting here in my woman-cave, thinking about all that I've had over the last thirty-five years. And what I have today. So much less. My decision. When the kids asked me to live with them I was very clear that I wouldn't unless I had my own living area. They needed their space as much as I needed mine. So when they purchased their house there was more than enough room for all.

My woman-cave is perfect for me and my 4 felines. It takes me all of one hour a week to clean it. I didn't want clutter so I only kept the furniture I needed. I'm into low maintenance these days. I don't have to worry about bills, lawn care, cleaning windows, replacing the roof, or anything else.

My life is very simple right now. And I intend to keep it that way. Life is too short and I'm going to do everything within my power to live it the way I want to live it, and have fun doing it.

So for me, less is more:)

Excerpt Up in Flames

“How bad do you have it?”
His breath was warm against her face. Rachel swallowed. “I can overcome it most of the time, if I think of something else. But knowing that I can’t get out right this minute is the problem. I can’t breathe.”

“Yes you can. Just breathe in deep through your nose and release it slowly through your mouth.” He pulled the glasses off her face and tossed them away. “You’re tense. Try to relax.” His strong hands began to massage Rachel’s shoulders.

She closed her eyes and tried to do what he suggested, then shook her head no and said fiercely, “I can’t breathe. There’s no air.”

“Think of something else.”

She felt his hands move from her shoulders to the buttons at her blazer. She could tell he was unbuttoning it, and the next thing Rachel knew he was slipping it off her shoulders.

“It might help loosening up some of your clothing.”

Rachel felt a scorching blast of heat envelop her when James’ hands began to pull her silk blouse out of the waistband of her skirt. When his knuckles brushed her skin at the top of her blouse, she realized he was undoing more buttons at her breast. Her eyes bolted open, and her hands encircled his wrists. His movements stopped.

“What are you doing Mr. White?” she whispered.

“Helping you, I thought.” There was amusement swimming in his eyes.

“By undressing me?” Under normal circumstances she would be thrilled but she was still stressed over her situation.

“You can relax, Miss Masters. Your virtue is safe with me.”

“I’m not a virgin.” Why had she said that? Rachel wanted the floor to open up and swallow her.

His soft laughter filled the elevator. “Well in that case, maybe you’re not safe with me.” He nudged her hands away and continued what he was doing. His gaze followed his hands while he unbuttoned her blouse, and when he was done he raised his eyes to hers.

She detected a slight difference in his breathing, and his features hardened with what she wanted to believe was growing desire.

Just had to share this picture with all of you. The little arm belongs to my six year old granddaughter. Yes, she likes to wrap herself up like a little mummy and that's how she goes to sleep. Then when I go to bed I have to unwrap her, and push her over to her side. Not easy to do. She sleeps very deeply and it's almost impossible to wake her up to move.

Then picture this. Me, my granddaughter, and four cats all sleeping in my bed. Good thing it's queen size but I'm thinking I'm going to upgrade to a king.

I have the best son-in-law! He surprised me with flowers the other day. When I asked him what I did to deserve them he said, just being you. Earl used to do that, too, so you can bet Damein's sweet gesture made me weepy. I hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend!
