Beware your heart and soul…
Evan broke Cassie’s heart two months ago, and she still doesn’t know why. She throws herself into family, friends and her new job at the sheriff’s department, but nothing helps. The only thing that finally allows her heal and move on is the love of a new man, mind mage Matthew Blair. Cassie finds him…irresistible.
Matthew may also be the only one who can help keep the non-magical residents of Eagle Rock from going crazy over the murder of a beloved pastor’s wife. It looks like a sorcerer is to blame, but while Cassie tries to figure out who, others take matters into their own hands. With tensions running so hot, a single spark might set Eagle Rock ablaze.
Now enjoy an excerpt:
Rick was still on some tirade about the heat, possibly trying to blame an August heatwave on sorcery, or perhaps the wrath of God, when I got the oddest sense of foreboding. It was a tingle, one of those things that is easily dismissed in the moment but, in retrospect, makes you think, I had a feeling…
Upon entering the diner my impression of danger strengthened, though it took me a minute to pinpoint the source of the threat. I noticed two things at once: First, Mrs. Meyer’s oddly shifty gaze as she worked the cash register, and second, the nervous expression of the stooped, middle-aged man standing opposite her.
The tinkle of bells startled the man in front of the register more than it should have. He turned slightly, took a good look at Rick and me in our deputy’s uniforms, and let out a cry of alarm. The next thing I knew he held a pistol in his shaking hands. “Don’t move!”
I froze. In that microcosm of time between instants, I gathered that Rick and I had interrupted a robbery and the man probably thought someone had called the cops. There was a sense of desperation about the man that made him seem wild and unpredictable – a dangerous combination, especially for a man holding a deadly weapon.
When time resumed, everyone in the diner began to panic. More than a few people screamed. Dishes fell and broke. Everyone scrambled for cover, most sheltering under tables.
Christine Amsden has been writing fantasy and science fiction for as long as she can remember. She loves to write and it is her dream that others will be inspired by this love and by her stories. Speculative fiction is fun, magical, and imaginative but great speculative fiction is about real people defining themselves through extraordinary situations. Christine writes primarily about people and relationships, and it is in this way that she strives to make science fiction and fantasy meaningful for everyone.
At the age of 16, Christine was diagnosed with Stargardt’s Disease, a condition that effects the retina and causes a loss of central vision. She is now legally blind, but has not let this slow her down or get in the way of her dreams.
In addition to writing, Christine teaches workshops on writing at Savvy Authors. She also does some freelance editing work.
Christine currently lives in the Kansas City area with her husband, Austin, who has been her biggest fan and the key to her success. They have two beautiful children.

Devil's Wrath Teaser!
I know it's early but I thought you might like a little snippet of the new story I'm working on. Devil's Wrath is my first motorcycle club story and due out later this year.
Warning: nasty language
Unedited!
“What the fuck?” Lynch came to an abrupt halt when he heard the roar of a motorcycle and glanced down the road to see Chicken coming their way. Sitting precariously across his bony lap was what looked like a rolled up carpet. As he grew nearer, Lynch could see the shit eatin grin on his ugly face. He looked proud as punch about something.
The rest of Lynch’s men stopped because he had, and they waited silently for Chicken to reach them. Lynch shook his head, ready to explode, because it looked like the prospect hadn’t been successful with his current assignment. It wasn’t a good sign when a prospect couldn’t take care of the simple task of riding to the clinic to bring back the doctor.
Lynch crossed his massive, tattooed arms and fixed a lethal look on Chicken. The prospect lost his smile, and came to a cautious stop before the group. “Before you go all mad on me I did what you asked. Just wait!” He pushed the carpet to the ground, got off his bike, and proceeded to grab the end of the carpet. “I had a little trouble but I improvised.” He unrolled the carpet until it revealed the woman.
“Goddamnit, Chicken!” Lenny swore before Lynch could. “What the fuck did you do?”
Chicken was scrawny but he held his ground in the face of the older, bigger biker. “I had no choice!” he defended himself. “The clinic was closed for a medical emergency at the hospital and she was the only one there.” He crossed his arms.
The woman in question was still on the ground, unwittingly bringing attention to her large tits as she panted heavily on her backside. Her wild blonde hair was half up, half down and with a huff she brushed it out of her face and eyes, which were shooting daggers of blue lightning up at them. Since when did doctors wear jeans, a clinging tee-shirt and no shoes to work? That’s right, the lady was barefoot! Lynch gave her a lazy, appreciative look. Sweet Jesus, she was all tits and ass from what he could tell, just how he liked his women. When his gaze returned to hers, she had enough fury in her eyes to damn him to hell and back.
He shouldn’t have, but he smiled.
She got to her feet on her own steam and headed straight for Chicken. “You dumb shit!” It was clear she was going to hit him, which just wouldn’t do. No one hit a brother and got away with it. Chicken actually took a step back, producing laughter from Wizard and Jerk. It was clear her attack had caught him by surprise. “You could have killed me!”
Just as she raised her hands to hit him Lynch stepped forward and wrapped an arm around her waist hauling her off her feet and back against him. He immediately noticed the difference between her and the skinny club whores that hung around. Thicker waist, curvier hips, and right now her fleshy ass was rubbing against his cock.
“Who the hell is in charge here?” she snapped, digging her nails into his arm and struggling wildly, obviously too angry to appreciate her situation. “Kidnapping is against the law you jerks!” she screeched, trying to pull his arm from around her waist. She threw her head back with purpose.
Her attempt to head butt him caused a chuckle from the guys. At six feet six her head barely reached his chest. There was nothing she could do to hurt him physically, but that didn’t matter. Just the fact she was struggling against him and trying to hurt him was cause for immediate action. As the president of the club he had a reputation to protect. His men might be amused at what was happening, but they still expected him to put her in her place, and show her who’s boss. As she continued to struggle against him the clip holding the rest of her hair up popped open and went flying, releasing the rest of her long, blonde hair.
“Let me go!”
Lynch had a feeling her hysterical-like command was the result of the hard cock she felt against her ass. He was harder than a steel rod from her movements against him, and he’d always liked a woman that looked like a woman, with curves he could sink himself into. Another thing affecting his libido was the way she smelled, clean and fresh. He was used to the smell of cigarettes, booze and sex on the whores he slept with. Maybe that’s why he hadn’t fucked one lately.
“Take your filthy hands off me!”
That did it. There was an old, broken down jeep nearby and he threw her up against it following her there with his large bulk. Ignoring her gasp of pain, he wrapped a hand in her long hair and jerked her head back roughly until their eyes met.
“Give me anymore trouble and I’ll lower your jeans and fuck you into submission right here in front of everyone,” he ground out threateningly. The words were said low against her ear and Lynch punctuated it with a rough kiss. He ground his mouth over her soft one, feeling her stiffen. He knew he was hurting her but couldn’t seem to stop once he got a taste of her sweet mouth.

Parker's Passion!
Please welcome friend and fellow author Sabrina York! she's here today, talking about her new release. Excerpt
Kaitlin was nervous as all get out as she prepared for her date with Parker.
She couldn’t deny the niggle of dread that he might not show up. Though she understood why he’d missed their previous date, and for good reason, the remnants of her desolation still clung.
It was only dinner. There was no need for such angst, but she couldn’t stop herself.
It was a little scary, her feelings for him. How vulnerable he made her feel. And none of her usual tools for psychic self-protection worked. At least, not very well.
She suspected it was because, deep down, she didn’t want distance from him.
She didn’t want distance at all.
Parker rang the bell at six on the dot—Kaitlin suspected he’d been waiting in his car checking his watch. But then, she’d been hovering in the foyer. She didn’t whip the door open before the chime wafted away, but just barely.
He greeted her with a wide smile. A smile that made her heart flutter.
“Kaitlin.” He looked magnificent in slacks and a sport coat and a crisply-pressed linen shirt. His tie was sedate, classic, clearly one he wore to work. He held a small box in his hands.
“Parker.”
“I, ah…” He nodded to the stained glass window in her front door—a confection of drooping purple wisteria. “I like your window.”
“Thank you.”
“Your house is nice.”
“Thank you. It was my aunt’s. She left it to me when she passed. It’s over a hundred years old.” It had been renovated many times and had all kinds of charming, quirky features. Like the window, and the little room beneath the stairs and—
“It’s nice.”
“Thank you.”
They stared at each other, wrapped in a sudden uneasy cloud.
She hadn’t dated much. Didn’t know what to do next. And it appeared he didn’t either. But then he thrust the box at her. “These are for you.”

Eating WordsTaste Good
When I first began publishing my stories I readily admitted that I didn't do research. I wrote about what I knew and made up the rest. You can do that in fiction. But once again I have to eat my words. Yesterday I did research, and today I wrote the first chapter of an erotic biker romance.
I'm also lucky in that one of my oldest, dearest friends used to be a biker chick. She's enlightened me on a few things, and will be a great source of information.
Tomorrow I need to get back to Lovers because that's due out July first. But you know how it is when you get an idea in your head. You just have to go with it.
