From The Waste Lands by Stephen King. The book is from 1991 and Eddie was last on Earth in 1987 so “Speed Metal” is entirely correct to his lexicon despite the later identification of those bands as “Thrash Metal,” the latter term developing in the 90s to describe their style as opposed to the post-nwobhm aspects of the genre that the former would come to mean.
