From the very first page, I was hooked by Kai’s vibrant and relatable voice, with her self-deprecating humor making her feel like a friend sitting across from me, sharing her wild and sometimes disastrous dating escapades over a comforting cup of chai(Chai with Kai, lolz!)

What I loved most about this book is how authentically Kai’s character comes to life. Her inner monologue is unfiltered and hilarious, and I found myself cheering for her as she navigates the complicated world of relationships. Her loving, albeit meddlesome, family and her tight-knit group of friends are also vividly portrayed, adding warmth and depth to the story, reminding us how essential these bonds are to our own growth.

The structure of the book is brilliant, with Kai recounting her romantic history to a stranger in a bar, which pulls the reader into the narrative effortlessly. Each relationship Kai recounts had me alternating between laughing and cringing, yet always rooting for her to find her own path to happiness.
