e-Toll - Out of Service - Cosatu head-to-head with ANC
More than 200000 people joined protest marches . Analysts are sceptical that the protest will convince the government to change its policies. The government is unlikely to scrap e-tolls or ban labour broking despite the huge support for Cosatu's nationwide strike.

Nuclear Disasters
South Africa is poised to issue the largest tender in its history -- an estimated one-trillion-rand contract to build six new nuclear reactors by 2030. The government has put a R300-billion price tag on its proposed nuclear reactors after years of keeping mum on what the new reactors would cost. it is lower than the going price for a modern nuclear design in the USA. It may be an indication that the government is expecting to draw cheaper bids from from Korea and China. South African energy minister Dipuo Peters has admitted that the R300 billion allocated in the budget last week for building new nuclear power plants in South Africa is not the confirmed final amount for the project.
