Moriah is the author of the young adult fantasy Heart of the Sea and various short stories. She is a two-time graduate from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts and a Master’s in Library and Information Science. It's been said you can find perusing bookstores, attempting to persuade strangers to read her favorite books, oscillating between watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy (her husband’s favorite) or Harry Potter (hers), and keeping her books from the clutches of her two feisty cats. ...more

I’ve enjoyed this series, though this wasn’t my favorite. It was hard to follow book two, though. Overall, however, it was enjoyable and gave insight into WWI I’ve never read about.

This book was lovely! I enjoyed every second of it. From their tumultuous first encounter until the very end of the book. It had romance, heart, and turn of the century problems. I enjoyed watching Edward and Calliope's story unfold. The book was eas ...more

This was such an exciting read! I listened to the audiobook, and I didn't necessarily like how the narrator did the YOU chapters (she changed her voice, and it was odd to me. Personal preference, however). Otherwise, though, an amazing book! I love f ...more

This was a great retelling! I am not much of a Western reader, but I do like Witemeyer's fairytale retellings written in Texas. It's a very niche book/genre, but I like it. ...more

" I struggled to get my bearings at the beginning of this one, too. I’m not sure why, but I felt like I need a little more backstory before chapter 1. "

I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control
“I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”
Marilyn Monroe

C.S. Lewis
“When the two people who thus discover that they are on the same secret road are of different sexes, the friendship which arises between them will very easily pass – may pass in the first half hour – into erotic love. Indeed, unless they are physically repulsive to each other or unless one or both already loves elsewhere, it is almost certain to do so sooner or later. And conversely, erotic love may lead to Friendship between the lovers. But this, so far from obliterating the distinction between the two loves, puts it in a clearer light. If one who was first, in the deep and full sense, your Friend, is then gradually or suddenly revealed as also your lover you will certainly not want to share the Beloved’s erotic love with any third. But you will have no jealousy at all about sharing the Friendship. Nothing so enriches an erotic love as the discovery that the Beloved can deeply, truly and spontaneously enter into Friendship with the Friends you already had; to feel that not only are we two united by erotic love but we three or four or five are all travelers on the same quest, have all a common vision.”
C.S. Lewis, Four Loves

C.S. Lewis
“In friendship...we think we have chosen our peers. In reality a few years' difference in the dates of our births, a few more miles between certain houses, the choice of one university instead of another...the accident of a topic being raised or not raised at a first meeting--any of these chances might have kept us apart. But, for a Christian, there are, strictly speaking no chances. A secret master of ceremonies has been at work. Christ, who said to the disciples, "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you," can truly say to every group of Christian friends, "Ye have not chosen one another but I have chosen you for one another." The friendship is not a reward for our discriminating and good taste in finding one another out. It is the instrument by which God reveals to each of us the beauties of others.”
C.S. Lewis, The Four Loves

C.S. Lewis
“All that is not eternal is eternally out of date.”
C.S. Lewis, The Four Loves

Andy Andrews
“If one makes a mistake, then an apology is usually sufficient to get things back on an even keel. However-and this is a big ‘however’- most people do not ever know why their apology did not seem to have any effect. It is simply that they did not make a mistake; they made a choice…and never understood the difference between the two.”
Andy Andrews, The Noticer: Sometimes, All a Person Needs Is a Little Perspective
