This year's garden

When I saw Jaci Burton and Smart Bitch Sarah were doing a "garden-off," I sent Sarah photos of our annual container tomatoes. I wasn't really so interested in prizes, just having fun with the growing, until she mentioned gnomes . . .

Anyhow, we've de-ghosted the largest tomato since the first pics (click for a larger version). We've got five plants, the biggest one planted about three weeks before the others, and we've got five long containers of onions. This plant is flowering now.

Chekhov's Frank & the Rule of Three

If you follow me on Twitter, you know I'm a fan of the new Fox show, Human Target staring Mark Valley, Chi McBride, and Jack Earle Haley. The show's premise:

The series follows the life of Christopher Chance (Mark Valley), a unique private contractor, bodyguard and security expert hired to protect his clients. Rather than taking on the target's identity himself (as in the comic book version), he protects his clients by completely integrating himself into their lives, to become the human...

Foreign Copies (and a giveaway)

Christmas in His Bed by Alison KentThis last week I've received at least four boxes of foreign copies – all for Kiss & Tell. Italian, German, and this anthology from Mills & Boon with three full Blazes novels included for a whopping 700 pages of good steamy reading! In English even!

The best one was for the Swedish copy; isn't that gorgeous? I have no idea what the title means . . . Kiss and Tell by Alison Kent - SwedishDouble Life, maybe? I seriously think Sweden does the best covers I've ever seen. Every single one I've received has been really artistic and...

I'm here! With contest winners!

I'm back. Sorry about being offline yesterday. There was a lot of server stuff happening and I had to take care of that on the backend and deal with client issues, so my own blog had to wait. I'm here now and with the list of my March contest winners! I doubt I'll be around much this next week as I need to get THE ICING ON THE CAKE finished up. Sorry to post and run, but that's where I am at the moment!

I used Random.org to pull March's winners then linked to the comments. If you're...

Comments are wonky at the moment

Hi folks, Walt here.

While Alison gently snores sleeps, I've been tasked to fix her blog comments. Well, try to fix her comments. I did try, but I just couldn't make it work. Something she's got embedded deep in the blog seems to be blocking the comment system, but I found if I yank it out, it kills the whole blog. Bad idea, right? Right.

I realize there's something I just have to be missing here, but I don't know what.

So for right now, I'm going to just back away and get some sleep...

The Icing on the Cake is up for pre-order at Amazon, woot!

The Icing on the Cake by Alison Kent

Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match . . . dot.com. An on-line dating service is not Michelle Snow's idea of how to find love but when the Big 3-0 hits, Michelle decides she has nothing to lose since she hasn't brought a date home in ten years, she's professionally burned out, and her climb up the corporate ladder has come at the expense of abandoning her sweet dream: to own a boutique cupcakery.

Todd Bracken, early thirties and a...

I forgot I had a car

Not sure how that happened, but I was drinking coffee in bed, wearing my sleeping Tshirt, my sweats, and one sock, thinking I'd spend the day there writing because I'm bored doing the 2.5 mile loop through our neighborhood, when I remembered I could go walk elsewhere! See new sights! Get out of the house! I got up, dressed, and headed to the soccer park where I've written a bazillion words and walked a few laps with many a dog. When there last week with Takumi and Snickers, I noticed a new...
