On Food and More Food and even MORE Food

A couple of weekends back, @cuppacafe and I watched the Big Game together. #2 was home with her boyfriend, Casey and family at a friend's. New Addition to My Writing Quotes

On my left sidebar I've got a bunch of writing quotes that really resonate with me, but the sidebar was growing so unwieldy that when I found a new one to add yesterday, I started a second quotes section on right sidebar. One thing that will be in my Vows novel

Think of it as a gIRL-gEAR story with cupcakes! And unless something changes (which things in publishing are wont to do, the title will be THE ICING ON THE CAKE.

Me and Vows in the Media

Vows Life RomanticizedThere was a lot of good buzz around the interwebz yesterday about the new VOWS line from HCI Books. In advance of the media blitz, I updated my bio page just a bit, adding the photo the VOWS site is using (my authorly photo as No. 1 Daughter calls it).

In case you missed any of it:

Media Bistro's Galley Cat

Publishers Weekly

Barbara Vey's Blog

Shelf Awareness

D&G Literary Mgmt

Help Me With My Book

The Book Case

Grabbing for story ideas in the ether

Sometime in 2004, @cuppacafe and I brainstormed a paranormal series concept. I'm pretty sure of the timing because I was laid off from my oil company job in January of that year, so I did a lot of writing at the park. And I did that writing on legal pads that I put into a blue zip binder. And I remember writing a scene for LARGER THAN LIFE, an 06/05 release, which was one of the only sex scenes my Brava editor, Kate Duffy, said was too much and asked that I rewrite. It was a sex as catharsis ...

A bunch of writing links and tips

Author Liz Fenwick gives some links here: My Favourite Writing Blogs – The Educational Ones. I thought I'd share some links I've come across this week, and most of them, believe it or not, I've found through Twitter. There's some good juicy writing stuff out there, and Twitter people know where it is!1) If you're thinking of writing middle grade novels, Writer Musings says:

Middle grade readers are between eight and twelve years old, and they are just starting to think about breaking away on...
