Transformers 3: Dark Of The Moon
It's been two years since the last Transformers movie and now Michael Bay has delivered the latest film in the franchise - is this one going to give me a headache ? You can see my review here in 3D (well nearly)

Do Short Stories Make Great Films?
A newly remastered version of the great Nic Roeg film Don't Look Now
is about to be released on BluRay and DVD. It got me thinking about
other films made from short stories and wondering whether less is more
when it comes to adapting the written word to the big screen?

Anyone For Tennis?
It's that time of the year again when Wimbledon dominates the 5 Live
schedules and the show I do with Simon Mayo moves to a different slot.
This got me thinking about tennis in the movies and which film uses
the game in the most interesting way?L

My Big Mouth Organ - The Final Chapter
So the big day of the BBC Philharmonic movie music concert arrived and I actually had to put my harmonica where my mouth is. How do you rate the result? You can watch highlights of the Great Film Music show at the 5 live website

Building Bridges
The BFI Southbank is about to start a comprehensive season of films starring Jeff Bridges. I love his work in general but as you will know I have a problem with The Big Lebowski. Is it time to re-view and reconsider my opinion...?

3Demise
For many months I have been predicting the end of 3D and now it really looks as if this ghastly gimmick is in its death throes. But what does that mean for the long line of sterescopic films that are releasing later this year?

Next Friday I'm doing a special programme with Simon Mayo and the BBC Philharmonic about movie music and I'm down to play the harmonica on the theme from Midnight Cowboy. In this post I try out with conductor Robert Ziegler and you'll see just what a fine mess I have got myself into...

Me And My Big Mouth Organ
In ten days time I'm doing a special programme with Simon Mayo and the BBC Philharmonic about movie music - a sort of celluloid juke box. I agreed to play the harmonica in a section about Midnight Cowboy - but have I made a terrible mistake?
