NEW! - BLACKTOP, a 99c novella

A car crash, an awakening and a post apocalyptic landscape are only the start of his problems. He's alone apart from a mute companion, there's nothing but wrecks on the highway, and somewhere, somebody won't stop singing. He heard the crash on the highway. But he didn't hear nobody pray.

A new 99c horror novella, exclusive to Kindle.

TRUTH DECAY FREE

The last thing he needed was another trip to the dentists. But the client was paying good money. Even if it smelled bad, a case was a case. But the past has a way of sneaking up on you... even if you have brushed every day.

Currently Free on Kindle, it previously appeared in Australia in the KILLER AMONG DEMONS anthology, now out of print, and received an Honorable Mention from Ellen Datlow in the Year's Best Horror list last year.

COLD AS DEATH FREE ON KINDLE

COLD AS DEATH is Augustus Seton's origin story and is currently free on Kindle.

Anyone for a bit of high magic, swordfighting and a taste of what Scotland was like before perfect teeth, nice hair and clean kilts became the order of the day in OUTLANDER?

My Scottish sorcerer and swordsman, AUGUSTUS SETON lives in Stirling in the late 16th C and is, usually, in the service of the King, fighting the good fight against the dark things of the world in between the drinking and wenching.

In Cold as Death he gains a sword, but loses his soul.

ABOUT THE AUGUSTUS SETON SERIES

My latest play pen is on the Kindle, where I've started a series of Scottish sword and sorcery short stories, all for 99c / 78p. There are four stories currently live.

Over the years I've written many stories set in my native country, in particular in the Watchers series. That series was written fifteen years ago now, and ever since I've been itching to write some more historical fantasy set in Scotland.

I've toyed with several ideas, but it was only in the past few years that things started to firm up. It took the death of two of my favorite writers to give me a kick. David Gemmell's muscular swordplay and Robert Holdstock's grip on mythic archetypes and the importance of history mixed in my head and gave me a sword-for-hire in 16th Century Scotland.

The late 1590s were a time of turmoil. Scotland was on the verge of many changes that would shape its future, from religious reformation, to the union of the crowns with England. But in many ways the country was still rooted in its medieval past, and fear of witches and demons was still a large part of everyday life. Seton confronts demons, both internal and external, as he wanders on the fringes of history.
