Author Interview
https://www.circumlocution.net/2021/1...
Check out this interview I did with Jerry Harwood for his book blog, Jerry's Circumlocution. It's always fun talking about the craft of writing.
If you haven't purchased my collection of short stories yet, why wait any longer? Go to Amazon right now and snag yourself a copy of Things Happen.

My Bookshelf
There's never a bad time of the year to read H.P. Lovecraft but October is particularly rewarding. My favorite story from this collection: "The Horror at Red Hook."
P.S. I found this book at a used book store right next to the Morris County jail. That place is a treasure trove of literary gems!

Here's a story of mine published back in 2017 called "Drought Conditions." It's from my unpublished novel-in-stories The Human Race.
I don't know how an alpaca became integral to this novel but somehow it feels right.

What's on My Bookshelf
This is the book that started my love of writing fiction. Any serious writer must have this collection on his/her bookshelf. I thought Hemingway was the master of packing a punch with short declarative sentences, but Raymond Carver has him beat.
Reading "I Could See the Smallest Things" is like watching a magic trick. I must've read this story a dozen times just to figure out how Carver pulls it off.

Here is my story "Abracadabra" from my unpublished novel-in-stories The Human Race. It's on page 86.
As a pretty serious prestidigitator growing up, I just had to include magic in one of my stories. Thankfully, it lent itself well as a theme between the two main characters struggling to start a family.
