fLiP iT fRiDaY: Kristi @ The Story Siren

Today on fLiP iT fRiDaY, we’re chatting with Kristi from The Story Siren, aka thestorysiren on Twitter.

Describe a typical day in your life.

Kristi @ The Story SirenMy days are actually very boring. I work at an orthodontic office from 8-5. Sometimes I’ll get some reading done on my lunch break. I try to be productive!

Usually I make dinner when I get home, it helps me wind down. I really like to cook and bake. And I eat in front of the television. I know it’s a bad habit, but I usually catch up on my shows via dvr! Whic

It seems the rumors are true. Twenty Boy Summer is on the shelves!

Look!

Twenty Boy Summer on the Shelves

Mom picked me up bright and early this morning (11 AM! Can you believe it? I was too excited to sleep! No, seriously. 11 AM is way early for us night shifters!) so we could book-stalk Twenty Boy Summer in the local Barnes & Noble stores. Being the professional, courteous stalker that I am, I called in advance to phone in my stalking so there wouldn’t be any awkwardness. I mean, other than my mom and dear friend Amy accosting

Creeptastic Buffalo: Buffalo Psychiatric Hospital

H.H. Richardson Complex

Earlier tonight, Alex and I took a walk around part of the abandoned H.H. Richardson Complex of the Buffalo Psychiatric Hospital (formerly known as the Buffalo State Asylum for the Insane), built in the 1870s and closed to patients about 100 years later. It’s now a National Historic Landmark and some groups are working to preserve it.

Like any abandoned old mental institution worth its salt, the H.H. Richardson Complex is rumored to be haunted. But I’m certain that ghosts only make their appeara

C. Lee McKenzie - Sliding On the EdgeMan… two debut parties in one week! I’m so not fitting into my skinny jeans. That is, if I had skinny jeans, which I don’t. But anyway. Welcome, fellow Word Ninja, C. Lee McKenzie!

Heather Duffy Stone’s Character Debut Party

Heather Duffy Stone - This Is What I Want To Tell YouHere’s another 2009 title I’m really looking forward to—THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO TELL YOU. I met Heather in NYC last summer during our first Debs Brunch and also got to hear her read an excerpt of her debut novel in March at the New York Public Library’s Teen Reading Night. I was captivated by her reading—especially with the voice and intensity of Noelle, the first narrator of this dually narrated story.

The stories people tell are always about the things we le
