Tokyo Revengers: Why Hanagaki Takemichi is the GOAT
Tokyo Revengers is one of the best anime of 2021 and has now sold more than a whopping 16.5 million copies this year. It is filled with multiple charismatic characters who have their own style by which they make themselves the best characters in this phenomenal anime. But in all this, Tokyo Revengers’ main character in the name of Hanagaki Takemichi is many a time disregarded by the majority of the audience.
There are reasons for this lash out.
Firstly, people think that Takemichi is physically weak.
Secondly, he always cries. I mean, there is a reason that he is regarded as the crybaby hero!
Thirdly, he doesn’t make decisions faster.
Fourthly, he doesn’t undergo any training to get stronger.
Fifthly, he has no drip unlike the others like Mikey, Draken, Baji, and Hanma (this is definitely a reason that people have in their minds).
For me though, Takemichi is that main character who is not found in many scenarios. He is really unique. Having read the manga up to the latest chapter, I can say that he is really going to change everyone’s minds. Even for anime onlies, he should be one of a kind.
Now, I will tell you the reasons for me to think so.

Period.
He is surely not fragile. His body is not frail. I understand and agree that he doesn’t know how to throw punches or how to dodge them but the man can take hits. He is definitely a punching bag but unlike many delinquents in the anime, he doesn’t get knocked out that easily. This isn’t a typical shounen anime where the MC gets separate episodes for his training so that he can become stronger and fight his enemies. Takemichi does fight his enemies but in his own way.
Takemichi is a literal tank!As I said, he can take hits upon hits upon hits upon hits! He is a lot stronger than most of the guys, just not in fighting. Do I even need to write more about this?

Imagine going 12 years in the past to save a girl that you care about, but in order to save her you have to change the past and in order to change the past, you have to face the cruel guys, gang fights and gang politics. And even before you know it, you are saving your homies before even doing anything about your girl. In Tokyo Revengers, everything is in a chain. If one event gets triggered then it only going to affect the others one by one.
Tokyo Revengers’ poor Takemichi must be pretty much stressed right now but people fail to take this into consideration and bash his decision-making ability.
Tokyo Revengers’ Takemichi doesn’t know how to give upThis point is really common for him and many people already know this. He will take punches and kicks but he will not back down. He will never give up, after all, he has to correct the future. His resolve is undeterrable and unbreakable. So if he gives up, there will be no future for him, right? If there’s no future for him then how will he save his woman?
Honestly, he has no choice other than to face the critical situations before him. Giving up is never the option.

Due to these reasons, Takemichi will be the GOAT (for me, he already is) as the manga continues to progress. I am sure the audience will realise the quality of Takemichi and praise him after what he has done.
Most of us would be afraid to go to the past and take his place as let’s be honest here, that is actually depressing. Seeing the people that we care about always getting in trouble will make anyone mad. I bet many of us could not even do anything if we went to the past.
In any case, watch out for upcoming drippy characters in Tokyo Revengers that will take your breath away. And of course, don’t forget Hanagaki Takemichi.
Remember the name.

A Thrilling Short Story
On the night of Halloween, I wandered inside an alley filled with nothing but black mice racing through the numerous puddles of water in the darkness. I was on my way home and took that alley as a shortcut as it was late already and my patience to eat something had dwindled to an irresistible level.
As I moved forward I heard some faint cry from a bit far ahead which made me stop. I couldn’t see anything as there was hardly any light for me to figure out what it could be. As I listened to the noise closely, I could make out that there was another sound. A sound of something thrashing against something. At this moment, my body began to tremble. I felt something in my heart, it began to beat faster and faster and faster.

Building up some courage, I put my right foot forward and then left, then right. The noise kept increasing as I moved near it. Finally, I saw two figures in motion. They were definitely a couple of men. I closed the distance between me and them. I heard a clear cry coming out from one of the men. The other was the one who kept pummeling his face with his bare fists. My eyes were wide open as I watched the spectacle with disbelief. I froze again. A tiny drop of sweat coming out from above my right temple coursed down my cheek.
Move! I ordered myself in my head but nothing. Nothing happened, not even the slightest. I didn’t move. I didn’t go to help the man.
Move! Move!
Nothing.
Before I could even make myself move, I saw, to my horror, the man who was thrashing the other, had moved his head and glared towards me with his large grey eyes. It felt like I was the next victim of his merciless torture. I kept the focus of my eyes on him and it felt like the time had stood still. I didn’t even look at the other man, who I believe stood next to the perpetrator thinking that I had come to save him. Before I knew anything, in a sudden movement my vision got blurred.
I felt pain, immense pain but I didn’t scream.
And then the realization occurred.
Someone … someone had sneaked in from behind and penetrated my back with a sword and the incredibly lethal weapon had come out from my abdomen. Upon moving my head a little downward, I could see the tip of the blade and the blood coming out of my stomach. My eyes got blurry as I could feel the unbearable pain slowly eating me from the inside. That was the last feeling I ever had.
I never could have imagined that the moment of my death would come like this. But the thing that bugs me … is that I died without knowing who killed me.

Best and cheapest classic fiction to buy from Amazon
On Amazon, there are hundreds of classic fiction books out there and it is a head-scratcher to buy just a single one out of them and if you are being crushed under a budget constraint then it is even harder.
In this blog post, I will list the one classic fiction which is not only the best but also the cheapest out of all the classics available on Amazon. You can get it for under ₹100!
Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
Price: ₹99 (Sometimes gets lower)
Pages: Around 350
This is an absolute belter. The ending of this book hit me right in the heart.
If you want a classic filled with the unmeasurable, elegant writing style and suspenseful scenes, if you want a character who is overwhelmed by his madness and commits all sorts of doings, if you want to enhance your vocabulary, then my friend, this is the classic for you.
Here’s the summary posted on Amazon’s website …
In this epic story of love, envy, betrayal and revenge, Heathcliff and Catherine come together in a romance that destroys them and those around them. Set in the lonely and bleak Yorkshire moors, this classic tale of thwarted passion begins when the new tenant of Thrushcross Grange, a Mr Lockwood, is forced to seek shelter for a night at Wuthering Heights. As the night passes, Lockwood learns of the tumultuous past of Wuthering Heights and of those connected with it.September 7, 2021
Why the hype behind the Dune movie is justified
Dune (the book) was … sumptuous.
When I first heard of Dune, I instantly thought it was going to be good. For whatever reason, this four-letter word—Dune—struck my mind like lightning. It was a grand name to me. Days later, I bought a mass-market paperback version from Amazon and after two months, I finally finished the book.
Now, the highly hyped movie of the same name is coming soon and people are going crazy over it and I understand why.
First, it is directed by Denis Villeneuve and second, it has some magnificent casting with the likes of Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Josh Brolin, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa, etc.

Now, the most talked about thing in this book apart from the creature was its abrupt ending.
I understand why people would be having some questions regarding that because the last phase of the book was a bit fast-paced and the ending wouldn’t be much satisfying as that phase had some high profile scenes and just when we thought that it was going to be something big, Frank Herbert shattered our minds by finishing it.
When I came across the last part, like most of the readers, I was somewhat left wanting more. But now this shouldn’t be a problem as anyone can buy the second book in the series: Dune Messiah. I haven’t read it yet though.
But in short, this book was a thrilling experience for me and now I am intently waiting for the movie release.
Good things that I found in DuneI found multiple things in this tome of 896 pages to be amazing and catching to the eye.

Arrakis, a nightmare for anyone. A planet covered with nothing but desert and having extreme water crises. The colourless liquid was a luxury among the Fremen, the natives of Arrakis. This was the planet which was in the eyes of big houses like the Atreides and the Harkonnen.
The big houses were fighting for spice on Arrakis, the most valuable material for humans from which they could make an astounding amount of profits. Above all at the top, stood The Emperor, the ultimate authority.
Apart from Arrakis, there were multiple planets that are mentioned in the book, each one of them different from the other.
I was left in awe of this type of world-building. I am sure Dennis would bring his best in this sophisticated world of Dune.
ProtagonistThe character of Paul Atreides was a bit complex that even his mother sometimes couldn’t understand him. The writing by Frank Herbert to make this young protagonist a fine character was done beautifully. His character development is insane and the type of leadership quality that he displays at times was commendable.

Timothée Chalamet, with his unmatched versatility, would surely do a good job in playing the character of Paul. I am looking forward to it.
The litany“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
This litany is mind-blowing. Frank Herbert has killed it.
Fear is the one thing that cripples the mind of every individual. How this quote starts and how beautifully it ends, everything about this is gorgeous.
It blows my mind that millions of quotes are already there in the world created by wonderful people and still, still there are millions of the ones which are not explored and thought of yet.
Absolutely unimaginable. Just imagine this litany with the voice of Timothée. I am getting goosebumps.
The excerptsBefore the start of each chapter, there was an excerpt taken from the various sources from the world of Dune itself that gave some sort of information.

They acted as a power charge for me before reading the chapter below it. It was a great touch of writing by Frank as they provided me with a small break from the intense storyline of Dune.
ConclusionAll in all, this work of science fiction was everything that I had thought it to be.
The sheer drama, action-packed and skilful fighting, intense story buildup and some unexpected stages had me at the edge of my seat. I found the book to be great.
The upcoming movie of Dune will explode the already popular series to unimaginable levels and all the hype that it is getting right now is definitely deserved. But yeah, no matter how much of the quality work there would be, criticism will always be there at its door.
But for me, no criticism. Now it is up to the movie.

One basic tip to help you understand your books better
Just finished a book? Have you closed it already?
Wait! Wait!
Open that book again.
Does it have an appendix section at the end? If no, then no problem, you can close it.
But if it does have an appendix section then you will want to read it.
First of all, what is an appendix (Not the part of the human body. No, not that one)?
It is a part of a book giving added and helpful information.
For those who want to know the uses of the appendix page then read more with the help of this article. Others move on.
In my case, when I finished Dune by Frank Herbert, I noticed that there was an appendix section at the end. Upon noticing, I instantly started to read it. I wondered what all things could be jotted down there.

I have noticed many people who don’t read the appendix after finishing a book as they think it a waste of time.
But in the case of Dune, this is an astonishingly helpful part.
It includes the meaning of various terms used in Dune such as Kwisatz Haderach, Gom Jabbar, Kindjal, Muad’dib, Reverend Mother, and a lot of others.
Not knowing these terms would be a hindrance to your understanding of the story and in turn you will not be satisfied.

Next time when you finish a book, do check for the appendix section at the end as doing so will help you in so many ways that you can’t even imagine.
If you understand this post about the appendix page then click on this link to read this blog post to buy the best and cheapest classic fiction that is available on Amazon.
